Going on our 5th year….
We have been with OHVA for going on our 5th year and we absolutely LOVE the curriculum and community! Both my kids want to stay through graduation! - they are currently in 8th and 5th! Highly recommend this school for virtual learning!

Everything is great!
Everything is great, my grandson is doing great academically! This is what works for us. We've have been here Kindergarten -7th grade, and plan to stay until graduation. Thanks OHVA!

My child has nearly zero live classes…
My child has nearly zero live classes for all of April "due to state testing". Not acceptable for the school not to teach but require 960 hours of instruction. If it is required for my child it should be required the teachers provide 960 hours of teaching.

There is way too much busy work in the…
There is way too much busy work in the program. Yesterday my son spent 3 hours on his ELA module in addition to the live class and reading eggpress. Altogether he spent 5 hours on ELA alone. There was no time to do math and phonics after that. Most days, my kids spend 8-9 hours a day completing work. It’s way too much busy work.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We understand how overwhelming long instructional days can be, especially when students are spending extended time on one subject. That can be frustrating for both students and families, and it is important that learning feels meaningful rather than excessive.
We encourage you to reach out to your child’s teacher to discuss workload expectations and pacing, as they may be able to help adjust instruction, prioritize assignments, or offer guidance to better balance the day. Our goal is to support student learning while keeping it manageable, and your feedback is valuable in helping us do that!
Refreshing Change
OHVA has been a much needed change for our son’s education. The teachers could not be better. We feel heard when we have concerns and they formulate and work my son’s IEP. Very happy with the choice to be part of the OHVA family!

My son has been with OHVA since…
My son has been with OHVA since kindergarten and is now in 8th grade. It has been a wonderful experience. His teachers have all been amazing, knowledgeable, helpful with any questions and concerns. The structure is well organized. My son is right where he is supposed to be education wise. There are opportunities to meet up face to face with faculty and other students. The knowledge that my son is safe every day,
attending classes in the comfort of our own home is priceless. I would recommend this school again and again. We give our son the choice every year and he always says he wants to attend OHVA again every year.

It's easy to get to the classes but we have have been having trouble with the course work. Sometimes we can't hardly get into class and takes forever to load. I enjoy k12 alot.

Everyone that I have ever emailed has always gotten back with me relatively quickly. My son absolutely loves being able to do things from home. And I love all the face-to-face meetings that we have.

Equal for teacher and student: accountability
Students are held accountable for missing, late assignments, or no logins. They need need to explain why there has been no action. No excuses. Teachers should be held accountable also. When assignments are not graded for a few weeks, they need to be held responsible for no action. They took on the role to set a good example for their students. Thank you, Mrs. Alsept

Hannah has a very hard time…
Hannah has a very hard time concentrating and get overwhelmed easily. K12 has been a GODSEND. Even though she still struggles at times, we love that she can take a breath and go back to things later. She loves k12. All staff has been so nice and understanding.
