K12 - Washington Virtual Academy Avis 

It’s sometimes difficult to navigate the software, but the teachers are great at explaining it to my student so they can still get things done

It’s been wonderful how teachers and staff are really involved in helping students succeed. We also love the flexibility of the school schedule and load since we have many doctors appointments and other life events.

We love k12, the only thing that we wish could be a little bit different. It would be shorter teacher times with the lessons. Some of them are way too long, and it takes a lot out of the children to sit there and stare at the screen for that length of time.

We’ve been part of this online school for five years, and it has truly been an incredible experience for our family. We love the curriculum, it’s engaging, well-structured, and has supported our child’s growth every step of the way.
The teachers and school staff are genuinely amazing people. They are caring, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to support their students and families. Even though this is an online school, we have never once felt isolated. In fact, we feel like we are part of a strong, welcoming school community.
We’re so grateful to be part of a school where we feel supported, connected, and valued.

The website is too hard for my 2nd grader to understand. The links should just take you straight to the lessons instead of scrolling to find them. Another suggestion is to make the meetups in different cities. There hasn't been one in Auburn where we live yet, and maybe weekend meetups? During the week is hard with work schedules.

They never open their books during class. Students should be encouraged to write or take their own notes during class.

My son is autistic as well as my daughter and being able to learn in a virtual environment is the best! They are able to take as many breaks as needed and they even look forward to logging on in the morning to get their work done. They both have reading levels well above their grade and it's very rewarding to be such a big part of their education as their learning coach. The teachers are great and we haven't had one we weren't able to collaborate with. I also don't worry about their physical safety anymore. It's been life changing for our family and we are very grateful!

My daughter has shined throughout the last ten years with this program… it was second semester of kindergarten when we first joined! Our experience with the local school district - in kindergarten after all - was completely horrendous. Thank you to those that truly dedicate to make a difference!

WAVA is all about Greed & Fabricating "successes" by gaslighting the parents of disabled children about NEEDS, lying about IEP goal achievements to cushion their bottom line, refusing to follow the IEP as it is written &/or delegating tasks that are LEGAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEACHERS & STAFF back on to the Parent Learning Coaches - with a refusal to ALSO accommodate the learning coach's disability needs. They fire the good teachers (or force them out with Administrative bullying) and keep the compliant staff to help justify their own agenda, not caring about the damage it is doing to the students. Furthermore, I am SICK and tired of bringing all of these LEGALLY required obligations that are not being met, along with my concerns up with Administrators only to be threatened with, "if you don't like the way we do things, we'd like to remind you that this is a CHOICE school, that YOU made a CHOICE to be here. You are welcome to find alternative education elsewhere."

Flexibility isn't helpful if myself & my student are being repeatedly ignored or bullied by the teachers/students. We are medically fragile. It isn't a CHOICE to require SAFE education that meets our complex needs. Flexibility isn't all that matters.

So glad we can school our way with great support!

Need more hands on and teacher class sessions!! Too much reading and mundane class work. Kids sit too long and need to be more engaged. Not enough equality learning time for any of the main subjects!! Wish they met more with teachers and students in the class.

The greatest experience is the availability of technical support and the ability to reach out to my daughter's teacher. Washington Virtual Academy has made leaning interesting, fun, engaging, and overall an educational experience that my daughter thrives with. Washington Virtual Academy keeps me well informed on activities and any changes with scheduling.

I think the teachers are great. Also they have a great system in place to maximize her learning.

We have been with WAVA since our son started kindergarten. He will be heading into 7th grade this next year. We love the flexibility and yhe staff has been amazing since DAY 1. We tell EVERYONE about WAVA

WAVA has proven to be the right choice for our family for many reasons like flexibility, but most importantly for our students who has excelled in an environment that’s conducive of learning his way, at his pace with great teachers to guide him.

I love the fast communication between me and the teachers. The small class sizes for my children that have IEP's

I ‘ve homeschooled both of my children. My son graduated from K-12 and is in his second semester of college. My daughter who is almost 13 has attended her whole life, and hopefully her future holds the same. I have moved a few times and I’ve utilized program in Georgia, North Carolina and Washington state

My son has been using WAVA K12 for a few years now. I love that the teachers are very helpful. My son can easily come back and complete missing assignments/days when he is away for music. I appreciate when the teachers reach out to me when he is behind on something. The site does take getting use to, to navigate (which I know a friends daughter struggled with).

I had no difficulties navigating your app. It was simple to register my daughter for school, well laid out and easy to find what I needed.
