I left a very long, succinct and articulate review about my appalling experience with Lawstop in 2023 (The Brighton Office) and the review was removed so I shall just keep this brief. I had used names and went into detail so I will not use names. I could relate to the other poor reviews about Lawstop and the Council. They use a Paralegal who is not trained like a Lawyer and does not have the legal knowledge or the confidence needed to stand up to a Corrupt Council. I had been given an emergency accommodation with Lawstop after I was illegally locked out of a brand new supported flat scam on news my Father died and the Council removed extremely valuable items. (The Care Co-Ordinator who placed me there was sacked as also was, apparently, the Night Porter who was finally sacked after 25 years for turning up drunk and being abusive.)

I need to take legal action against the Police, now the GP Practice and I currently have a private Landlady in contempt of court who is friends with some of these corrupt cretins who protect convicted criminals so the targeting for speaking the truth and being vulnerable has continued as the corrupt Housing Officer who was involved with Lawstop wanted information about this current legal case which is none of his business!!! I have already only just about survived 9 years of torture by corrupt Housing Officers and this also involves my Local Eastbourne MP Caseworker and all their failings. I have been through the ombudsmans, I put the CFO on notice under common law and my life was put in danger previously in council HMOs. I lost blood due to the stress. The emergency accommodation given to me with the 'help' of the Paralegal was out of town and I was offered just ONE grim derelict flat in Eastbourne and the emergency accommodation I was in happened to be my childhood best friend's old house. I did not accept the derelict flat and was threatened with Police illegally if I did not leave this emergency accommodation. This is ALL illegal. The young Lawstop Paralegal did not do a thing and as other Law Firms have said, I should have been offered at least two or three flats. IT WAS HORRIFIC AND LAWSTOP LEFT ME ILLEGALLY HOMELESS WHEN I AM ON SEVERE DISABILITY. It is true what the other reviews said about the Managing Director of Lawstop not being interested even when I went into A&E and a nurse spoke to her on the phone out of concern. I have lost blood and had to have an iron transfusion due to the stress.

The irony is that the Solicitor in Hastings who was going to help me make a subsequent civil claim against the Council for locking me out of the brand new supported flat prior to this is notoriously corrupt with appalling reviews and has over 16 pages of corruption against him. He and my MP Caseworker have collectively lied about helping me upon instructions by a District Judge and now I have yet another Legal Aid Law Firm regarding a private Landlady. I am still homeless and this is all very frightening. I have spent thousands of pounds on Hotels and had abuse, it is just HORRIFIC. It is also true that when as another reviewer said, when appalling reviews blight the Law Firm, they need those odd 'positive mushrooms.' Legal Aid is supposed to benefit the vulnerable but is being used to merely exploit and make money out of them as per usual.

This is the first education team I have worked with that have worked tirelessly to win my case. I did in fact win, and got everything I asked for! The Lawstop team were professional, courteous and friendly from the outset. Given my stress levels and jarring experience with my local council, this was very much appreciated. We were fighting the council decision to name a totally inappropriate and unsuitable educational setting for my Autistic son. I used lawstop for securing the right educational setting for my child, I was due to go to tribunal against the LA when no school was named and because I felt that the EHCP was to vague and did not represent my child’s needs.

My local authority left my child with no education for three years and were refusing to name any appropriate schools for him. Faith and Bruna from Lawstop worked tirelessly for over a year on our appeal and despite the LA refusing to engage with the process and maintaining until the day of the hearing that no school could be found they had a sudden change of position the day of the hearing and agreed to every single thing we had asked for as well as named my first preference school as his new placement.

I contacted Lawstop for assistance with an EHCP appeal. The EHCP provided by the LA was insufficient, lacking detail and named a provision who couldn’t meet needs.

From our initial contact, Bruna and Faith have both been a fountain of knowledge and support to assist with our appeal. We were very new to the EHCP processes and felt completely lost before we had their help.

They gave so much time and patience to help explain everything and were always so generous with their availability to call them to discuss developments in the case.

I must also mention Dr Nick Palmer who completed an EP review. He was incredibly compassionate and communicated so well with our child with SEN needs, who even said herself how much she liked him and felt ‘understood’.

After a long haul, we have now won our Tribunal case with the council and have an in depth EHCP with appropriate provision for our child who has been out of education for two years, through no fault on her own.

This is all down to the knowledge, time and support from Faith and Bruna and we are extremely grateful to them. We wouldn’t have been able to navigate this whole process without their expertise.

Absolutely awful service from Lawstop. The most unprofessional Legal team I have ever come across - Shocking! Extremely poor legal knowledge and unacceptable professionalism.

They ended up causing more damage than providing help. The founding director, refused to respond to or acknowledge the complaints and emails I submitted. Would not recommend spending money here or attempting to rely on them at all. Rather go online and seek Google’s advice, would be quicker and better Legal advice than this firm would ever give. Wasted my time to the point my case had become weak due to ineffective use of time and communication.
