When I saw a social media post advertising the Learn Bookbinding starter kit I thought it would be my perfect Christmas gift. I dropped a huge hint to my husband, he took the bait and I was hooked!

The starter kits contain absolutely everything needed to make two books. The materials are high quality and the instructions are fully illustrated and easy to follow. Having made the notebooks (and ordering a couple of refill packs to bind books as gifts) I decided that I would love to make my niece an album as a gift for her wedding. The artist sketchbook kit looked like an ideal base, but I wanted a more formal look. I contacted Jon-Paul who was super helpful and very happy to pass on his extensive knowledge on how to adapt the project to get the result I wanted. I was thrilled with the result and I am very happy to say that so were my niece and her husband!

My eagerness to progress with bookbinding resulted in me giving the half leather kit a try next! There is a lot involved in binding this book from 'cooking' the paste to handling the high quality leather. To say I am super proud of the end result is an understatement.

In just six months I have gone from never binding a book to producing beautiful pieces from scratch. I couldn't have done it without the wonderful kits, materials and assistance from Learn Bookbinding. They have everything from the very first kit to high quality 'top up' materials for your own projects, all backed up by great service and Jon-Paul's incredible knowledge. I can't recommend enough - if I could give six stars I would!

My husband has wanted to try bookbinding for some time. I spent a while looking for the best home kit, and decided to order the Complete Bookbinding Starter Kit as a Christmas present. I emailed and asked if there was a choice of cover papers in the kit and about delivery dates. I received a prompt reply, and within a few emails had every thing sorted out. Jon-Paul matched the cover papers to my husband's interest. The kit arrived on time, and was beautifully packaged. It looks fantastic and the papers are perfect, I know my husband will be over the moon with this.

Ordered the Starting Kit and it was brilliant. Had everything I needed and was really easy to make with the instructions.
Have got my mum one for Christmas this year and some of the refills to make books for presents.

The beginners tool kit is fantastic.

The beginners box is amazing! For my first time delving into bookbinding I purchased the beginners box with all the equipment in. I already have other craft hobbies so didn’t realise I’d double up on things but I don’t mind as it just means I have a spare! The instructions were easy to follow and because I’m a visual learner I referred to the photos a lot, this help me make my first book. Quality products with a quality finish. If I can do it then anyone can! I highly recommend purchasing from this company, I’m definitely going to buy more!

Absolutely fantastic customer service, amazing starter kit and truly stunning products. I’ve loved every second of making my two books that came with my starter kit and I cannot wait to order some refill packs so I can make some more. I’m so glad I came across this wonderful company, I now have a new hobby that I seem to have become addicted to! Really good quality kit with detailed simple to follow instructions. I was a complete novice when I started and now just can’t stop because it’s so enjoyable and a really professional finish. If you’ve always wanted to give it a go like me then don’t hesitate!

Ordered my bookbinding starter kit for something to do over Christmas. The kit was amazing with everything needed to make two beautiful A5 notebooks. I am now hooked and have bought a few of the refill packs. All the materials supplied are of high quality.

I've always been a book-lover and was genuinely interested in learning the art of bookbinding without having any idea how to go about it. As if by magic, Mandy's sponsored ads suddenly appeared on my Facebook page and soon after I purchased the bookbinding starter kit. If anyone looks at the price-tag and balks a little, don't hesitate for a second! The quality of the products is amazing and the attention to detail is second to none. You can tell that the utmost care has been taken to source quality products, whether it's the scissors, craft knife, or paper. I'm obsessed with the bone folder! So much time and dedication has gone into producing the detailed instruction manual, and, if you still manage to get stuck, just drop Mandy a message on the Facebook page or related group and you'll get some amazing advice, even if you're looking for replacement products a bit closer to home. Very few businesses would do that and demonstrates the best of customer service and principles. I will definitely put my name down for one of the bookbinding classes when they start up again, because I desperately want to learn to make some 'traditional' looking leather-bound tomes. I feel so blessed to have come into contact with the bookbinding community that Mandy has built, as we all share our makes and get some great support and encouragement. I bought a beginners kit at Christmas and have been addicted ever since. The instructions are brilliant and everything I needed was included. Any queries I had were answered quickly and I. A friendly and helpful manner. Lovely kit, lovely company. I’ve gifted several if the books I’ve made and each one has been loved and appreciated. It really is worth trying this. Wonderful unique gifts and a hobby for life. Thank you.

I’ve always been interested in learning book binding but have never been able to find local courses. I came across learnbookbinding online and saw the starter kit. I did wonder if it would be possible to teach something like this without live demos but the instructions are so clear. There are step by step photos, the descriptions are well written and you know exactly what you’re doing at every step of the process. The kit includes all the materials and tools you need, all of which are of excellent quality. I would definitely recommend the starter kit if you’re undecided! I ordered the learn bookbinding kit and it was amazing. It had every tool I needed to get started and two packs of materials to get me started. I was a little intimidated by the length of the instructions but in the end found them super clear and helpful.

I even got a response to a question I had from the Facebook group when I was making my first book. So very pleased with my purchase and will certainly be buying refill packs to make my own bullet journal in the future.

I’ve both attended one of Mandy’s courses and bought the starter kit and refills. I cannot recommend highly enough. The quality of the product is exceptional and Mandy is exceptionally helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I can’t wait to hopefully return for more courses in the future and will always continue buying supplies from here.

I first bought a kit having only dabbled with a very simple style of binding at school, and not having done anything since. I started with some trepidation, but the instructions were very clear to follow, and although my first attempt wasn’t perfect (all user errors!), it was much better than I thought it would be. I’ve made several books since and bought the sketchbook kit as well - I gave the sketchbook to a family friend who is a professional set designer and an artist, and he was thrilled with it. I can’t wait to see what other kits might be in the pipeline, and I wish I lived closer so I could attend classes too! First rate company.

I’ve made the two books from the kit and enjoyed it so much I’ve bought more supplies to make additional books.
The quality of all the various kit elements are fantastic and it was great value for money. The instructions were brilliant and made it easy to produce impressive looking books straight away!

Absolutely fantastic. I started off with the kit and enjoyed it so much I started travelling (a couple of hours each way ) way to attend more classes. Mandy is a superb instructor - both on paper and face to face and the support that she and Jon-Paul offer is above and beyond. When here was a hiccup ( the knife blades in a kit wouldn't snap - it was a manufacturing defect) they sorted the problem immediately and to my benefit, no questions asked, no hassle. I can totally recommend them to anyone without a moments hesitation. I wish there were more companies like this out there.

I've always been interested in book binding and while on lockdown I thought it would be the perfect time to get a new hobby. In comes learn book binding!

It was incredibly easy to use their website and the order came quickly and easily. I ordered the starter pack and the A4 sketchbook pack. The starter pack came first and I was confused assuming they'd come together, so I emailed and they sent a very fast reply stating they're sent as separate packages!

They were lovely and very helpful and I was able to do my first starter pack book before doing the slightly more complicated A4 sketchbook. They both look amazing! I'm very impressed with the amount of tools they send within the starter pack for the price and the instructions are very easy to follow with photos of every step - they really send you everything you need to create a beautifully bound book and make it very easy to make more, whether you buy refills from them (which I definitely will be doing, some of their patterned paper looks amazing!) or find new paper from a craft shop. I'm going to be making some for all of my friends for many years!

I was very happy with the contents of this box. My questions were answered quickly and efficiently. I will definitely buy again and will try some of the dotted paper so I can use it for bullet journaling.

Great product, I can't wait to get started... And the customer services is great, I made a mistake at checkout and it was resolved quickly, efficiently and to my advantage... I think this may be my new favorite hobby x
