We used this firm while purchasing our house, and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing.

We had to instruct this firm part-way through the purchase due to circumstances outside of our control and not because we had chosen to use them. Unfortunately, the communication issues we experienced made an already stressful situation even more difficult.

Throughout the purchase, we were repeatedly unable to speak directly with the solicitor handling our matter. Updates were not provided unless we chased for them ourselves, which left us constantly unsure about what was happening with our purchase. On one occasion, when I called to ask for an update, I received what I felt was a particularly rude and unprofessional email in response.

Even more concerningly, we were not informed when we had passed conveyancing, despite this being an important stage of the purchase.

There were also errors in the legal documentation, including the wrong house number being included in the contract. Given the importance of accuracy when dealing with the purchase of a property, we found this extremely concerning.

After completion, the sellers left items in the property. We received the keys at around 4pm on a Friday, meaning we did not have a reasonable opportunity to contact the solicitors about the issue until Monday. We were then told that, because they were not holding any funds, there was nothing they could do about the situation.

Overall, we found the service lacking in communication, professionalism and attention to detail. Buying a house is already a stressful process, and having to continually chase for basic updates made the experience considerably more difficult.

In our experience, communication was poor, we did not feel adequately kept informed, and there were avoidable errors in the legal documentation. We would not recommend this firm based on our experience and would advise anyone considering using them to carefully consider their options.

Also they say they handle probate cases and although they drew up wills for our family they now say they are unable to handle probate. Terrible service and zero customer service

I did not instruct this solicitor directly — they were recommended to me by the estate agent. Due to their higher fees, I chose another conveyancer, and I am very glad that I did. Unfortunately, the buyer instructed them, and the experience has been extremely poor.

Firstly, they did not appear to manage their client effectively. Rather than providing guidance or filtering queries, they passed every concern directly across, placing unnecessary burden on my solicitor and myself as the seller.

Secondly, there were repeated issues with document handling. My solicitor provided key documents, which this firm later claimed had not been received. Only after four weeks — and after being presented with evidence — did they finally acknowledge receipt. This avoidable delay wasted a month of progress. It also took them four weeks to follow up on other paperwork they had failed to chase in a timely manner.

Thirdly, when the solicitor went on holiday, no contingency was put in place. As a result, responses to important queries were delayed for over a week. When they eventually did respond, they once again insisted they had not received certain documents, despite proof to the contrary.

This was a straightforward, no-chain sale that should have been completed quickly. Instead, the process has dragged on for almost four months and is still not concluded.

In my experience, this solicitor demonstrated poor communication, inadequate client management, and a lack of efficiency and accountability. Based on this, I could not recommend their services and would caution others to consider alternatives.

This firm had a partner, Robert Corteen, who was jailed for fraud. Although he was a trustee of my late mother's estate, the firm never advised me of this. In fact Alastair Watson, another partner, became quite heated when I questioned Corteen's suitability as a trustee, and assured me he was a man of impeccable probity. Watch this outfit.

Samantha and the team were helpful and professional. Although unable to help with our purchase with equity release they handled our house sale. This was not an easy transaction but was handled well and efficiently.

Excellent service from the point of instruction to the point of completion. Sam Woods was attentive and controlled the chain of 5 sales very well, I believe if it wasn’t for her the chain would 100% of collapsed. Worked brilliantly with all professionals involved including my mortgage broker, other agents involved in the chain and managed to produce direct and honest updates from lenders.
