Locrating Avis 

We subscribed to Locrating for a few months while choosing a primary school for our kid. We were in the process of moving across country, to an unfamiliar city, and choosing a school with no knowledge of local reputations. So for us, seeing schools on a map, with visual catchment areas, and quick links to school websites, Ofsted reports and the ability to keep, sort and compare a short list were just a godsend. We used it multiple times a week and compared dozens of schools across a city. We basically used it not only to choose a school but also to choose a neighbourhood to live!

I honestly don't know how we would have managed without Locrating to rely on. It took so much stress and busywork out of an unavoidably stressful process. Thank you!

And an anecdotal note to anyone who is "shocked" about the inclusion of public data like income, education and ethnic breakdown. We actually found this useful in making our choice. We used Locrating's data to *avoid* schools with a 90%+ white majority (the only kind you find in our current small town), opting instead for those with a broad mixture. I'm glad we were able to do this, as one of our motivations for moving to a big city is to let our kids make friends with people who don't have identical backgrounds and life experiences (a privilege I never had), and it would have been a shame to end up in a super homogenous catchment by mistake. And I can imagine it would be even more useful for a non-white family making the same move.

This website is AMAZING. I can't recommend it enough. I recommend this to everyone I meet or anyone who asked me about schools. I'm a school teacher and a parent and I found this so useful when discovering schools in the local areas, and even when I was moving house, then I used this to explore and find out the school in the areas as well. One thing that is great is you can subscribe prices are really cheap for the amount of content you get, also fee really flexible as well. The customer service is brilliant, really fast responses to questions and your email is answered really quickly. There was a little issues with the subscription, however, this was resolved so fast, I didn't even notice the issue. So brilliant service.

Excellent value for money. This website is just amazing! It has everything you need to know and is really easy to use. We've just used it to make our primary school application, which was a really big deal for us. We wouldn't have known where to start if it wasn't for Locrating. Having all the crucial information clearly laid out in an easy to digest way was just brilliant. It's a goldmine of data! You can even see which secondary schools kids go to from each primary school. I had no issue cancelling now we no longer need it. I definitely recommend!

We're moving back to the UK from Switzerland next year and this site is proving to be really helpful in helping us plan the move. It was recommended by family back in the UK and I must say I'm really impressed by the platform. I had a question about admissions and got a response within an hour! Keep up the good work guys.

Easy to use site; really helpful for school applications

As a parent, I found Locrating very useful in helping us to decide which secondary schools to apply for. We had a shortlist of 5 schools and we used the information provided to decide between them. There are lots of different stats available and the site allows for easy comparison between selected schools. Obviously, you can go to open evenings to get a general feel for a school when it's putting on a show, but the information on Locrating enabled us to go much deeper and feel like we had made a truly informed decision. I would recommend to anyone looking for primary and secondary schools, even if they're intent on just going to the catchment school - they might change their mind when they look closer!

Really useful information. I used it when making the move across country to a new area. I wanted to prioritise being in the catchment area for good schools and the information helped me to find exactly where to search. I’m now buying a new house and moving with the confidence my son will have access to great education.

the website is horrible to use. difficult to navigate the school map.. . it often gives you the error "too many items to display" and then you have to zoom in and you're lost! why are you showing some many irrelevant items like restaurants, shops, gas stations etc etc on schools map?!!... poor user experience.... it can not tell you in which schools catchment area you are located. you have to check each school one by one on a map to find out and you can easily miss some schools... and the lists goes on and on..

Its miley here some of u might not know me but I am sure the teachers won’t forget me I just wanted to say this was the best school ever and I recommend to come here as is so good have people who help u with a lot of stuff this is why im so good at maths ands it’s a supportive and wonderful place i wish I was still in yr six and I will never forget you guys from miley

The app itself is good but the price is extortionist. In only one year it went from £7 to £13 per MONTH? Come on!!!

I've found this to be a really valuable service, it has helped us get a much clearer idea about schools and catchment areas which obviously helps when you've a property budget. It's enabled us to prioritise what's important and we're no longer in panic mode but able to be more realistic about our options. Can't recommend it enough.

Really great tool. Made a huge difference to our search for schools and houses. Would thoroughly recommend. Also the payment options, sign up and cancellation were straightforward and easy so we could use it for exactly the time we needed it.

Worth every penny. The service that locrating.com provided us during our move to Dorset was invaluable. All the information we needed about schools across the whole of the county in one place. We have two primary school children and so our house hunting was made so much easier having locrating.com to refer to, regarding good schools that were nearby any houses that would come up for sale. I would recommend to anyone moving areas and schools to subscribe to the service for a few months.

Honestly, if you're thinking AT ALL about moving, and need to know about schools in the area, Locrating should be your first port of call.

Incredibly helpful filters, search information - helped us pin down where we want to live, the schools to apply to.

We've been looking to relocate for some time and this service was a lifesaver! Not knowing the area we were moving to, we leaned heavily on Locratings detailed school results and the local demographic data to try and find the best possible place for our family.
