Kiln Dried Softwood Dumpy Bag Avis

Kiln Dried Softwood Logs – Fast Lighting, High Heat & Sustainable Perfect for getting your fire going quickly, our kiln dried softwood logs have a moisture content below 20%, making them ideal for easy lighting and a strong, consistent flame. These logs are excellent for combining with other solid fuels to extend burn time and maximise heat output. But why are more UK households turning to softwood? Despite a mixed reputation, softwood logs have grown in popularity—and for good reason. While some softwood species contain higher sap levels, which can cause spitting or residue, our kiln-dried UK softwood logs are clean-burning, low in moisture, and reliably consistent. Compared to hardwood, softwood is less dense—meaning the logs are lighter and burn a little faster. But they also light more easily and produce an impressive flame and instant heat. If you’re after a roaring fire without the wait, softwood is your go-to fuel. In fact, softwood is the firewood of choice in colder climates—over 80% of Scandinavian forests are softwood, and they burn it through harsh winters that drop below -30°C. If it works for them, you can rely on it here in the UK too. Environmentally Friendly & Highly Sustainable Softwood trees grow rapidly and can be harvested and replanted on shorter cycles—making softwood a far more sustainable alternative to traditional hardwood logs. With faster regrowth and fewer resources required, softwood supports responsible forestry practices across the UK.
