Do not use this company. Really terrible interface which meant that I couldn't see that the instructor I booked didn't actually work in my area before I paid the deposit. Now they're refusing to return my deposit.
Shady cynical business with little thought for customer relationships.
Great company, helped me find a suitable driving instructor for a competitive price. Highly recommend anyone thinking of learning to drive and are unsure of who to go with :)

- Had 6 lessons with first instructor, who cancelled on me 5 times
- Overpriced
- Got charged for more hours than I had
- Management told my instructor that I didn’t need him any more, the week of my test when I still had 3 hours left with him
- First instructor ignored me the week of my test
- Management were disrespectful and rude, tried to blame their incompetence on me
- After finding another instructor, management refused to offer an apology, or any compensation for the situation or the £30 I had to spend to travel from Bath to Bristol for lessons
- An awful company, absolute miracle I passed my test, AVOID AT ALL COSTS

L Plate connects learners and instructors, we aren’t able to influence their prices. We are working with our community to ensure lessons are as accessible as possible.
We were able to find your new instructor within days and at a reduced cost of £56 which should cover your train fare. We appreciate you raising these issues and whilst we understand tensions can be high around test time, we will not engage with coercive behaviour.

Your first instructor didn’t meet our service standards, and we’ve since removed them from our platform. We refunded you for the lessons you reported as missed, even though this was disputed, because your experience matters to us.
Ahead of your test, we worked to connect you with an alternative instructor so your plans wouldn’t be disrupted, and we’re genuinely pleased you were able to pass.
We understand you were disappointed with our customer service, though our team did everything reasonably possible to resolve the matter, including after declining requests we believed were outside our policy. Throughout the escalation, we maintained professionalism and courtesy.
We’re always looking to improve, and we wish you safe and confident driving ahead.
I was desperate to find a driving instructor in Bath. My new job was in a different area and it wasn't easy to travel by bus. All the driving schools I've checked with, were fully booked and I should wait for 3 months minimum on the waiting list. A friend of mine told me to check with LPate if they can help. Fortunately, they managed to find a driving instructor the same week I contacted them.

I struggled finding local instructors available in the bristol area and Lplate gave me the option of quickly finding lessons as they have a range of instructors available, unlike other companies in-which the instructor is the owner and is usually fully booked for a long time.
On the downside my initial instructor was not available for my test date and did not have business account to book in exams so I had to book a long time in advance (6mo) giving prior notice and to find my instructor was not available was not ideal..
However at a last minute effort to find a new instructor I reached back out to Lplate who found me a new instructor in the leading 2 weeks to my test. We booked in 5x further lessons and I passed my exam first time with one minor.
Overall was a great experience with L plate and issues got sorted quickly and professionally by Ewart, would give 5* however I would prefer the initial instructor had a business account to book in the exam as booking myself took a long time which led to the availability issue.
If all instructors for Lplate had a business account with the local examiners I think this would greatly benefit the customers
