If I could give zero stars, that's what this lot would be getting
I won't do business with this company again. You can't use your Magshop online account to cancel either subscriptions or the auto-renew function on subscriptions - you have to ring the company to do those things, as confirmed by one of their CSRs on today's phone call. (Spoiler 1 - they ignore emails, Spoiler 2 - they suck at phone calls too.)
And then when you think you've finally got it sorted, someone rings you for bank account or credit card details (bank account details? credit card details? over the phone? in this day and age? really???) because they had 'problems' issuing the refund cheque!!! (Of course they did - I discovered today that the sub was being charged to my old credit card, which expired last year, and I don't think cheques are a thing in NZ anymore.)
For what it's worth, I emailed to cancel my sub on 15 August (using the email address on THEIR website) before the previous sub ran out. They never replied and then on 21 October, I got the first magazine on the next sub. I rang Magshop that day and cancelled the sub again. (The CSR I spoke with confirmed that they had received my original email and he had no idea why it hadn't been actioned...) I was told there would be no more magazines and I would be refunded the balance of the latest sub.
The second magazine on the new sub turned up on Saturday and today I got the phone call asking for bank account/credit card details. I read whoever it was the riot act and hung up, as you do. I then rang the company, using the phone number on their web site, and asked what was going on. I suggested they just send the rest of the magazines on the latest sub and THEN cancel it but they said they couldn't do that (eye roll). They said they would refund me if I gave them my bank account or updated credit card details.
There's no way I'm giving them my current credit card details or bank account number just so they can rip me off some more.
Do better, Magshop!
