Watch out for this guy, I just lost my case today as I asked for a position statement and he wrote a witness statement instead. The information I gave to counter the other Party was not in my statement. This guy is truly dodgy, he charged £400 and was totally useless. Not only that I had to make adjustments from his draft.

This is the website of Ibrahim Sheikh or called Ibrar Sheikh. I used Ibrahim Sheikh as a McKenzie Friend for my 16th Jan 23 family court hearing.
He didn't follow my instructions on my position statement. He didn't write my position statement he asked me to do then didn't follow.
He charged me £900 based on £60 per hour with VAT £90 hour. He is reluctant to a give an estimate for the total cost of your hearing from the start. Originally said it would done in £450 a number of times. The day before hearing wouldn't attend the hearing unless another £450. He claimed it was unreasonable to expect for £450. Fair enough why not be clear from the beginning when I asked number of times for an estimate on the total cost. I wouldn't have problem with the charge if he actually did a good job.

He does minimum work and takes you through a process which you can do yourself. He won't fight for you. I was answering the allegations against me myself without him helping or giving advice in the hearing.
After the hearing he tried to add more costs on then said he will not charge as goodwill gesture.
The breakdown on his times he sent has many issues. I don't agree with times or number transactions. He actually double counted some of his charges. I was being charged £90 an hour for having him at the hearing he was also charging transaction charges while there for text of a document he asked me to send which he already had from me.

The bundle he created which was basically my documents printed and numbered with header. The times he charged for printing documents and number of times he claimed to print documents.

Anything he considers a transaction i.e. so sending a text, email no matter how short he will charge at 6 minutes minimum. Which means £9 for few word text. I had so many issues with him. You need to read the fine print to understand this and he won't tell you. He will just say you are charged on the number of transactions.

He says for the hearing he will request a right of audience to speak on your behalf. I booked him months before my hearing. Weeks before the hearing he saying he got an appointment in London do I need him to attend? Then he making out he did me a favour by attending for something I had paid him for. He is very manipulative.

A request for right of audience should be done in advance of the hearing. He only requested on the day of the hearing. They refused him. He told me he is usually accepted but I was aware it could be turned down.
At one point in the hearing when I needed advice he said to me what do I want to do? I was told after the hearing by the person who write my position statement he should have advised me of my options.

For his cost you can get direct access barrister a bit more that you wouldn't have these issues with. Certainly better McKenzie Friends which will keep you in formed and charge a lot less. I got another McKenzie friend who charged a third of what he did never charged me for every transaction. Even if they can't speak on your behalf they will do a better job than he did.

He will say he works for a firm of solicitors where he charges a lot more. The reviews for the firm of solicitors he work are awful. He is not a qualified solicitor he is a paralegal but compares himself to solicitors.

He gave me hardly legal advice if any. You are better getting a McKenzie Friend without legal qualification. You can get as low as £30 or £40 per hour they will be far better than him.

He accuses of you making allegations if he doesn't like your comments and try get unfavourable review removed.

It is a fact I used him I can prove and the amount he charged. I think he was terrible. This review is the help those who use him. You won't find many bad reviews on him because he gets them removed with threats of legal action.

For what you get from him you will get more from the lowest charging Mckenzie friend. He does the absolute minimum.

He actually made agreements with other party solicitor without me agreeing with me. Gave away very important bargaining position which I really believe would have helped me get direct contact with the children earlier.
