Very professional, guided both my daughters every step of the way, great advice, webinars worth listening to, my daughters got in to their top choice colleges.

As a parent of a student using the NAVIO platform in Brazil, I’d like to share my experience with Macmillan Education. Unfortunately, it has been quite frustrating for the following reasons:

1. Poorly designed interface for children
The platform's UX feels clumsy and unintuitive. Watching my child use it, it's clear that little to no user experience work was done with actual children in mind. For example, colorful buttons often suggest restarting an activity rather than moving on to the next one, leading to repeated frustration. It seems to be designed by someone convinced they know better than the users, dismissing real-world feedback.

2. Login issues
Even when selecting the “remember me” option, the platform asks for the password every single time. This is especially frustrating when dealing with a tool aimed at children, where ease of access should be a priority.

3. Unnecessarily complicated access system
Besides logging in, parents are required to manually enter activation codes for each class and resource. This is inefficient. It would be far more user-friendly if teachers could simply manage and authorize student access directly within the platform.

Summary:
The pedagogical proposal may be valid, but the technical implementation is poor. For a company of Macmillan’s size, I expected a more polished, user-tested system that supports families rather than creating technical hurdles for them.

I hope to see improvements. Until then, it feels like more work than support.

Hello, everyone! Sharing a cautionary tale about well-intentioned parents (us) to hopefully save other well-intentioned parents the pain and needless expense we incurred. We have two children with very different educational profiles and were looking for a school that could accommodate them, ideally in NH or ME. We sought help from what looked to be a very reputable educational consulting firm in the Boston area: McMillian Educational Consultants. They are VERY expensive, so it was a stretch, but you stretch for your kids. Long story short, they took our money and did very, very little to help us. In fact, the consultant assigned to my younger daughter never even met her. There was no interview; no effort to understand our goals for her, and the only thing the consultant did was set up a tour to a school we would never consider for her and did not want - a tour I could have easily arranged had I been inclined. Similarly, most of the schools for my older daughter were not ones we thought were appropriate, and the only promising one rejected her. We ended up finding the perfect school - on our own. Wish we would have known...
