We were founded in 2002 by two "Middle" Davids, a father and son whose middle names are both David. We started with Dad (David's) candle making expertise developed as a hobby in the 1960's, serving festivals and youth organizations through fundraisers. In 2009, we opened our retail store in downtown Franklin, Indiana, and have been there ever since. Son Dan did most of the "business" in the early days as well as helping with production. Tauria, Dan's wife, took the company over in 2016 and now serves as its president and principal owner. She is the retail curator and team leader, and is a constant presence in supporting other local downtown shops. Both Tauria and Dan are U.S. Navy Veterans, and Middle Davids is both woman-owned and Veteran-owned, a near-zero trash facility and member of Indiana Grown, supporting sustainability and Agriculture. We also offer a popular membership/subscription program called Making Light, that encourages daily rituals of focus on the things that matter most.

I like how conveniently located this shop is; easy access to parking. It offers a really nice selection of items made locally. Whenever I need to shop for a gift, I can always count on finding just the right one there. This shop also works with groups with their fundraising efforts.
The store is conveniently located with parking nearby. The candles come in a wide variety of sizes, scents, and colors. They burn evenly and make great gifts. The shop also has a nice variety of other items for sale, some of which are made by local artisans. This business assists local groups with fundraising and supports civic endeavors.
Middle Davids Candles has an excellent selection of merchandise and a very pleasant staff.
I love this store. Not only does it have great candles with a lovely variety of scents, but it also has beautiful scarves, thoughtful and funny cards, and many other items that are hard to find anywhere else. The owners and clerks are wonderful too.
I’ve been to the store many times and am always impressed by the merchandise and the helpful salespeople. I never leave empty handed whether it be socks, hand towels or a candle!

A must see if you are traveling through Franklin. The candles are of the highest quality and made on site. There is a wide selection to choose from with seasonal special candles. Got some for gifts and had to get some for myself.
I was impressed with the other crafts that are made locally. They have jewelry, scarves, mittens, and home decorations. Each piece is unique and the prices are reasonable.
I've been to Middle Davids Candles many times to find the perfect gift for someone special. They have a huge selection of their handmade soy candles in many different scents and sizes, and this week I purchased my new favorite, Lemon Chiffon, which is mellow and relaxing. Beyond candles, I have purchased gifts at Middle Davids like earrings, mittens, scarves, pottery, cards, and other beautiful, hand-crafted items that I know will please the person I'm gifting. The staff is friendly and helpful (but not in your face, so you can totally look around at your leisure), and they're always finding new artists to feature.
Middle Davids Candles is a store that features various artists. The variety of products is always something to explore and the candles smell amazing. I have enjoyed Christmas shopping for friends and family while in Franklin , IN. The staff is also very friendly and knowledgeable about all the artists featured. This is my favorite store to go to when I visit Franklin! All of their products are unique and one of a kind. The owner is a skilled weaver among other talents. You just never know what you’re going to find, from handmade jewelry, beautiful woven scarves, gorgeous pottery, and of course candles. I love shopping here! Supporting a small business is the icing on the cake
