It's been a week since my case was dismissed and I still haven't totally offloaded 11 months of stress and worry that I have felt after I was initially charged.
It almost doesn't feel real. The days that followed immediately after were worse. I took accountability for getting myself into another driving situation a little too hard and couldn't eat, sleep or concentrate on work or anything else.
If you're reading this, you're probably in similar hot waters and based on my experience, I can tell you that you're at the right place.
I did my research and I knew that I didn't want any generalist firm but only a specialist motoring solicitor who knew exactly what they were doing to take this on.
I sort of figured that I had a potential case to defend but didn't know all the technicalities. I rang and spoke to Louis Young and immediately I started explaining the events that unfolded, it was evident he knew his stuff just from the questions he asked. The email summary of our discussion the followed was so detailed and precise that I was locked in.

Elnaz worked with me throughout these months and I must tell you, the case strategy left no stones unturned, use of expert opinion and reports, relevant case law, procedural follow ups with the courts, CPS and comms updates with me have been nothing but professional and client focussed right up to the hearing and after.

My trial Barrister, Richard Saynor, was incredible on the day and I was reassured by his performance that I was in excellent hands.
In all honesty, by the time we got to trial, I had prepped myself for the worst case scenario and made my peace with it just so the weight of it all would go away. However, until the last moments we entered the court room, I was repeatedly explained what the defense strategy was. That gave me a lot of hope.

Finally, due to technicalities and push back from Richard, the judge dismissed my case!

When I first went to court in June I went without legal representation the magigestate were over barring and just wanted me to plead guilty and the duty solicitor said that companies that said they could win against the system were con men typical of someone who works for the system. The second court appearance in July I had a solicitor he was great. My trail date was set for November about 4 months on, but its only the second week in August and the prosecution has dropped the case and dismissed the charge. If I had of gone guilty I would be banned from driving with extra points on my licence for years to come. After doing extensive research, I chose Geoffrey Miller Solicitors because I simply could not afford to receive a drink driving conviction. From the outset, they gave me confidence that I had made the right decision.
My case was handled by Justyna Blazewicz, who was an excellent source of information and support throughout. The defence centred on technical issues relating to the breath test equipment and whether it had been operated in accordance with Home Office approved procedures. Although the arguments were quite complex, nothing was ever too much trouble for the team, and they explained everything clearly so I could fully understand the process.
The agreed fee service levels were also very reassuring, as they removed the stress of unexpected additional costs. There was one additional trial that resulted in a further fee, but this was entirely outside the firm’s control. At that point, when I was unsure whether to continue, the team went above and beyond to support me, including arranging a conference with my trial barrister at no extra cost (this does usually involve an additional charge with the service level for my case). This was incredibly helpful and gave me a great deal of reassurance.
When my file handler went on maternity leave, Jeanette Miller personally stepped in as my point of contact. This level of commitment really stood out to me. Unfortunately, the case ran for much longer than expected, which I believe reflects the current pressures within the criminal justice system rather than anything the firm could control. There were repeated delays caused by lack of court time and multiple opportunities given to the prosecution to address issues with their case.
Ultimately, just before the final trial date, the prosecution discontinued the charge. I was absolutely relieved.
The level of service throughout was exceptional. Communication was always clear and proactive, and the team genuinely understood how stressful the situation was, including the impact on my mental health. Despite the length of the case, they never gave up.

I deeply regret using this company and do not recommend them. I was driving under the influence of alcohol and was facing a 12-month ban. In desperation, I called them to avoid the consequences. Unfortunately, they lost the case and I lost £12,000. If you think you're paying them a high fee and getting top-notch service, you're dead wrong. After receiving all the documentation, it turned out that the barrister who represented me received £600 of the £12,000 I paid them! I understand they had other costs, but the barrister should have been top-tier for the money, but he was poor. Now I don't wonder why his suit was dirty and wrinkled! Everything was supposed to take place in one hearing, but unfortunately, the verdict was postponed until another day. Geoffrey Miller Soilisitors wanted an additional £1,800 for a barrister's presence at the verdict, just for being there! I refused, and that's a good thing, because he wasn't even needed! They tried to convince me to appeal for another £12,000, but luckily I didn't. They'll tell you the case can be won without even hearing the facts. This all happened at 14th November 2023. It was traumatic for me, and I'm only now adding this comment.

I cannot recommend this company highly enough. From start to finish, the entire team were absolutely fantastic to deal with. Their professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail were evident throughout the whole process.
