This is a scam site where you HAVE TO PAY to be able to apply for jobs. And supposedly you receive feedback on your applications. Bullsh*t! I was lucky to pay for no more than two months before I cancelled. Don’t make my mistake!

Getting feedback on job applications is a key way of improving your candidacy for future applications, so its frustrating you did not receive our many feedback emails.
Did you ever book in for a career advice session with one of our team?
We offer all Pro members 1-2-1 career guidance. This includes feedback on your CV and reviews of your applications. All you have to do is contact us directly and a member of our team, all of whom have over 10 years experience, will always work with you to help you maximise our guidance, work on your applications and begin your career. We can only help 1-2-1 if you get in touch though!
We do charge for access to this service and to our paid jobs and feel that the level of guidance we offer members who actively engage with us is well worth the small monthly or annual fee.
We all know it isn’t easy to start a job in film and even our name can be misleading since getting those first experiences is really hard! This is an intensely competitive industry and candidates have to really work hard to stand out. It’s not enough to simply fill out an application and send off a CV. You have to really get to know the company, be passionate about the projects they work on and tailor your CV, application and cover letter accordingly. You also have to really understand the roles you are applying for. That’s why we encourage all members to get in touch directly so we can help you navigate the many resources available on our site, and so we can coach you through those first challenging steps. In reality, a career in film begins with many little jobs as you build up experience and understanding of the industry, different roles and your own strengths and interests. It’s a journey, and MFJF is here to help you along the way.

I dont even remember these people but might have contacted them about my son when he was in his teens - he's now in his twenties! They have just taken £29.99 with no warning and they say I dont even have an account! Bank has stopped all future payments. So ANGRY!!

In general payments are only taken from members who have actively signed up and confirmed their subscriptions. Notifications are always sent before any payment or renewal takes place.

I wish I had seen these reviews before I singing up. I paid £30 with a discount for a 12 moths subscription and kept applying for jobs but NEVER had a reply from any employer.
Then they secretly charged me another £59 without ANY notice for another 12 months membership. (Never heard of a subscription service that takes your money without any notice). So, after 2 days I wrote an email asking for a refund of £59 for a service that I have not used at all and this is how they (Sam, the founder) replied: "Unfortunately, we are unable to provide refunds. We can, however, pause your account so you can use it again in the future at a more convenient time. That way you don't miss out."
I replied explaining that I am not asking for refund for the past year but for the year ahead that they charged me without notice, now it has been more than a month, they never got back to me.
No where in their website mentions about refund (Oh that Q&A page is not available and it is empty).
They just stole £59 from a student who is looking for work during this COVID19 pandemic.. Well done!

We’re so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience and think there may have been some confusion along the way.
It looks as though this has been cleared up now but for the record we just wanted to confirm a couple of things:
Firstly, we will never take payment without permission. Members can always pause or cancel their subscription and receive reminders prior to any renewal taking place.
Secondly, we work really hard to make sure members are aware of all the benefits of membership and communicate proactively to help members take full advantage of the services we offer but you do have to put work in to get a return! In this industry employers rarely provide updates or feedback to candidates despite our best efforts to contact on your behalf.
To try and help students and other entry level candidates overcome this significant barrier to entry in a very competitive industry we offer all PRO members 1-2-1 career advice with an experienced career advisor alongside a huge range of career resources and opportunities to connect and collaborate that really are unparalleled across similar services.

Complete waste of money, no help at all go with Mandy Crew
Terrible service, never heard back from applications, never received the promised 1 to 1 CV advice. Waste of money that I forgot about due to no contact.
They didn't warn me about the subscription renewal, like other sites I've sued this year and actually received job opportunities from. They took money from my account without asking, to which I emailed asking for a cancellation and refund, to which they said that they couldn't possibly do that, and advised that I should have turned off auto renewal. All this in a time when freelance film crew are being hit financially, this has been incredibly damaging to me. I regret signing up to this awful service, which should be taken down for it's predatory behaviour upon new film industry entrants.

Firstly, you have to get in touch to arrange yoru 1-2-1 session and we always remind members to book that in!
We run dozens of 1-2-1 sessions each week.
We never promise that members will hear back from their applications, but do proactively contact the recruiters who post roles with us to ask for feedback and updates on your behalf. When we do hear back we always pass it on. We can’t do much to change the way this very competitive and over subscribed industry works but we can offer a lot of support to help make it easier on everyone.

DON'T DO IT. Scammers who will take your money every month without showing any concern, even if you NEVER get a single acknowledgement from any employer their 'jobs' are posted with. Highly suspicious after reading numerous other reviews that most opportunities posted on the site aren't even genuine.

Despite our best efforts to contact employers for updates and feedback it’s pretty unusual for employers to do so, particularly for entry level roles. That’s why we exist, to fill that gap and give thoughtful, tailored feedback to our members so they can improve their candidacy for future applications and apply with more confidence.

We know our name and member success stories might make it look easy, but it’s incredibly hard to get your foot in the door of this industry. Our aim is to provide members with access to genuine, vetted jobs and help them prepare successful applications and interviews. We do this through 1-2-1 sessions with our experienced career advisors and a multitude of career guides, templates and case studies all aimed at helping members understand the industry and their own strengths and interests within it. Their title suggests this is for entry roles however majority require experience. Have applied for a countless amount of jobs on this site and not had so much as an acknowledgement or rejection email from the employers.
They do not make it clear that their subscription renews and do not notify you of this other than with a receipt, which at this point is too late. The customer service team are rude and patronising.
This website is purely to take advantage of new entrants into the film industry.

Thank you for taking the time to give feedback. It’s really helpful for us to know how we can do better! We’re new to Trustpilot so this is a little delayed and we hope all is resolved now, but we wanted to check in just in case.
We have been helping new filmmakers for nearly 12 years, with thousands finding success through our service.
Firstly, we know it’s really frustrating not to hear back from companies. We always make contact and ask for feedback on our members behalf but a lot of the time production companies are just swamped and simply don’t offer feedback or updates on progress. When we do get feedback, we always pass it on.
Secondly, we know our name can be a little confusing. Our goal is always to help members get entry level roles in film, but in reality companies often require some experience even for their most entry level roles. We can’t do much about that, but we can make sure we have lots of opportunities on our site (around 100 every day and always up to date) to help members get started. In reality, it often takes lots of smaller projects or internships before you get the “first” permanent job, or longer term project in the industry. It’s incredibly tough to get your first big break in the industry which is exactly why we’re here! Unlike a lot of other groups out there, we offer 1-2-1 feedback to all PRO members. We also encourage PRO members to find people to collaborate with via our members area so you can build up a portfolio and develop useful experience and connections. Our facebook group is another great way to find support and help stay motivated.
Our case studies and testimonials (links below) might help you get a better sense of how to get the most from membership and show just how worthwhile it can be!
Finally, we make every effort, via the website, members area and across our communications, to make it clear how & when a membership renews and send reminders ahead of any renewal or payment taking place.

Scam site
The site doesn't actually offer what they charge for. I've known several people that have paid for this site and haven't gotten any help with their CVs or covering letters. They update jobs but applying through the site is completely useless since they don't forward the application to the employers.

All applications made through our site go directly to employers and we follow up with each and every recruiter who posts a job to ask for updates and feedback on our members behalf. Unfortunately most companies don’t feed back for entry roles but when they do, we always pass it on and offer our own 1-2-1 session to give our feedback and help the candidate improve their application for similar roles. Members have to get in touch with us to book their 1-2-1 session and we make it really easy to do that with lots of helpful reminders and other advice after you join.
