A local financial institution that looks after its clients so well provides a level of service care like all smaller boutique organisations interest rates for both savings and lending arrangements are similar to other larger financial organisations but this one being a local building society seems to provide a more tailored individual service like all financial and other service industry companies did in the the 60 70 80s before computerisation the internet self service all good but nothing beats good old fashioned personel service by some one who can then offer advice on products services that may fulfill your needs better would highly recommend this local organisation for all the reasons as outlined above

Absolutely terrible place. It was good from 11-12 then it turned into shite djs. (Obviously) but turned into a standard club. Don’t waste your money on this utter pish. If you want to charge £600 minimum spend go and make the tunes at least half decent you scam artists

I paid out my home loan on 28 march 2024. However after repeated contact with Newcastle permanent they have not closed my account and in fact, have charged me interest on a zero balance. They have not contacted me at all and despite calling them I can never get past a customer service rep. They will never transfer me to an expert. I am forced to engage a solicitor to resolve this which has cost me a significant amount of money. This should never happen. I do not recommend this bank at all.

I have been banking with the Newcastle permanent building society for many years now and they have always been very supportive of me as a single parent wanting to borrow money to help me with buying my homes - however the reason I am not able to give them a 5 star review is that when we approached them for a home loan they told us that we would have no problem at all in borrowing the money but after almost 3 weeks of waiting they told us that they were not prepared to lend us the money… we had a considerable amount of equity in our circumstances and almost lost the purchase of the home that we wanted to buy- but fortunately ME bank came to the rescue and processed our loan quickly and we were able to proceed with the purchase….
It was more about the time it took to be told’no’ especially since we had been informed by our lending manager that he didn’t anticipate any problem… however as we discovered the fact that we both had excellent loan payment history served to be of no benefit whatsoever…
