I question this company’s marketing ethics. Evidently they don’t realize they are shooing away potential entry level paying customers!
1. Initially, a phone auto answer says push 1, if you are an existing client. Push 2, if you are not yet a client. So, I pushed 2 as a potential client. Then, I was told to push 1 again if I was a client for an under $500 service & push 2, if I was a potential client for an over $500 service. I pushed 1, as a potential client for the cheaper services, & was put on a 20 minute hold!
So, I hung up and called back indicating that I was a potential client for the over $500 services. This time I immediately got a representative to answer my call, with no 20 minute potential client wait.
2. There’s nothing on any of their advertising video pages that allows a potential customer to read a transcript of their videos. Most services have this option readily visible.
3. I usually subscribe to financial marketing programs that have a refund option. It is not easy to find if Larry Benedict has refund offerings. The only ways to find out whether they have any, is by listening to a video, or calling them up, or looking up on their website. So a potential customer has to do more sleuthing just to get basic information.

Very disappointed. The marketing is very aggressive, but the results are completely underwhelming—nothing close to what is promised. I was excited at first and even happy after about 10 small wins, but then one max‑loss trade wiped out all my gains in a single month: zero net return.
The spreads are typically around a 150 credit per trade alert, but the max loss is 1,500, which is effectively a 10‑wins‑to‑1‑loss ratio. After that, you’re right back where you started. Even with a 95% win rate, you barely break even by the end of the year.
The sad part is the false hope this service sells through marketing, while the real results are just mediocre. I will never recommend this service to anyone.

*** Hello, I think this is the third or fourth time I request a reply regarding the question I made regarding the service in my last feedback email, can someone please provide comments on this email ***
---
I’ve been a subscriber of the S&P Trader service since 2023 and have remained a committed follower over these past three years.
I am writing to provide an updated performance review following my last communication dated November 24th, 2025.
As previously documented, the accumulated losses through 2024-2025 were (see support docs attached):
• 2024: –$9,235 per subscriber
• Cumulative loss across both years: –$18,975 per subscriber
The attached performance chart “2026-03-02 SPTrader Accumulated…” clearly illustrates the prolonged equity deterioration across 2024 and 2025.
However, it is equally important to acknowledge what has happened since the last recorded loss on November 13th, 2025.
Since that date, the service has delivered 23 consecutive winning spreads without a single loss.
This is statistically significant and materially different from the performance pattern observed over the prior two years.
One can reasonably infer that either a strategic adjustment or a structural change in trade execution has taken place.
From the chart, it is also observable that the profit curve has begun recovering and has moved above the most recent lower high, something we had not seen during the prolonged downtrend. That is objectively encouraging.
That said, the reality remains that after two years of catastrophic capital mismanagement, the recovery required is substantial.
A cumulative loss of approximately –$19,000 per subscriber during these two years represents:
• ~$20 million in capital destruction for 1,000 subscribers
• ~$100 million for 5,000 subscribers
• Even higher figures if the subscriber base is larger
These numbers are not theoretical — they represent real families and real savings.
A deeper statistical review reveals that the core issue has not been win rate, but risk asymmetry.
With an 81.85% win rate, the average winning trade generated $190.98, while the average losing trade resulted in –$1,039.13.
This implies that one single loss offsets approximately 5 to 6 winning trades.
The resulting expectancy remains negative (approximately –$32 per trade), and the Kelly Criterion calculation yields a negative value (–16.89%), which mathematically suggests the system should not be traded at current risk parameters.
The issue, therefore, appears to be structural risk design rather than signal accuracy.
In my particular case, my portfolio suffered an approximate loss of $8,300 as a direct result of what I consider to have been extremely poor risk management, and catastrophic capital mismanagement over the past two years.
While the recent streak of 23 consecutive winners is impressive and deserves recognition, the system must now demonstrate consistency over a much longer horizon before credibility can be restored.
A short-term streak does not erase two years of structural damage.
Sustainable capital recovery, controlled downside risk, and balanced reward-to-risk ratios must now define the strategy going forward.
I respectfully ask whether there is a concrete, measurable plan in place to structurally correct the risk asymmetry that has defined the service over the past two years?
I sincerely hope that this recent improvement reflects a genuine strategic shift rather than temporary variance.
As always, I am willing to provide full data transparency if needed.
Best regards,

Larry is always candid with what he believes the market is and will be doing. He is not always right, but he's right enough of the time to make trading on his advice very profitable if you are consistent. His Trading With Larry Live podcast with Eric Shamalov is entertaining and a good way to start my day. We are definitely up money with Larry.

Let me start by saying that I really like Larry Benedict. He genuinely cares about the OT membership. And after a stellar start to 2025 with his options trading recommendations, Larry Benedict lost his mojo in April and May 2025. And I could not have chosen a more negative time to join Opportunistic Trading: April 3, 2025. For two months, Opportunistic Trading offered Put after Put…SPY, QQQ, IBIT, MSTU…all lost at least 60 percent or more of their value. And as OT members lost money on these Put recommendations, they also, sadly, missed the market rally that recovered its April 2, 2025, “liberation day” losses. Now it’s June, and still the Puts persist, Rolling SPY and QQQ Puts and adding SQQQ to the list of losing recommendations… more losses to begin a third month.
While I am sure Larry Benedict’s experience is vast, his inability to correctly read market sentiment during this period cost me more than half of my account. In OT’s favor, they did offer, at my request, a full refund of my $4,000 membership fee. Bottom line is, I made the trades, and I’ve accepted the loss. Live and learn…

In this turbulent market it's so hard to make a correct decision when it comes to options trading.
Following Larry's recommendation on QQQ $325 Put Due 07/15/25 I entered that trade this morning at about 9:40 (I missed his PM alert yesterday), paid $3.38 for it (a bit higher than his recommended limit) and sold it at 12:25 (less than 3 hours later) for $6.22. That made it an 83.45% profit in a few hours, awsome!
I'm so thankful to Larry for his great recommendations and for sharing his vast experience with us, his subscribers, so we can learn how to minimize risk and maximize earnings.

I am disappointed with the service, especially after I signed up for the SPX trader. I moved up because I had a few wins with the basic service but was only getting 1 recommendation over 6-10 weeks, so I was looking for more leads.
Based on reading and re-reading all of the SPX Trader literature he sent out, I became confused because he appeared to be trading opposite from the way he communicated in his trading booklets. His emailed recaps occasionally mentioned that he made a few bad trades but "to stick with it. I stuck with the daily recommendations and my account got totally blown up within a few weeks so I can't trade now. I am trying to work my way back up.
I called his office twice and literally asked if he had had a stroke, because his trading seemed confused and misdirected. The person that answered (who had a hard time speaking english) was no help at all, couldnt answer any trading or concept questions, and said he would check into my concerns and call back. What a laugh... still waiting.
I now place the daily SPX trades on TOS "paper money" to figure out where Larry is coming from. I monitor the results every day, and then try to match up the results he publishes in the OT app with the results TOS comes up with and it doesn't match very often (I lose when he says he gains, and his gains are usually higher than what I show ( but that is understandable because I am late on the trade sometimes.).But boy, when it is a loser, it is a real LOSER, mostly > $1000, way over the premium and the credit for one contract as explained in his booklets. One big loss usually wipes out 2 -3 medium wins. It's hard to stay above 0.
I am not giving up yet as I hope to still get a better understanding of the vertical spreads but I am not willing to trade real money again anytime soon.

This service is a money loser. There is not a single winner in the current portfolio.
I have not come close to breaking even with the cost of the service and have little to no confidence in any recommended trades.
They have published some winning trades but I have avoided most recommendations because of my consistent losses

Larry's not always perfect. Sometimes, he jumps in a little too soon. Several of his trade set-ups left me under water for awhile, but most of his trades do turn profitable if one can remain patient. However, it's his selection of options and his strategy that I like more than anything. He doesn't usually trade spreads, but rather selects certain lower delta single options on QQQ and SPY mostly with this service, and it works! I have learned a lot from him and his lower delta strategy helps reduce loss of capital while still playing for levered gains of more than 100%. Overall, he is a great trader and of all the services I have paid for over the years, this is the one and only service that has been consistently profitable for me!
