Disappointing communication from a recruitment agency

I recently applied for a vacancy advertised online and was disappointed by the lack of communication.

I contacted them by telephone and was told my application would be reviewed. After hearing nothing further, I tried calling again on several occasions without receiving a response. I also emailed members of staff directly, but those emails went unanswered.

I fully appreciate that recruitment agencies deal with large numbers of applications and cannot personally respond to everyone. However, when a candidate takes the time to make direct contact, particularly after being told their application will be reviewed, I don't think expecting a basic response is unreasonable.

Having run my own business for many years, I find this disappointing from both a candidate's and an employer's perspective.

As a potential employee, why would I continue chasing an agency that doesn't respond to telephone calls or emails? Equally, as a business owner, why would I choose to engage a recruitment agency if this is the experience potential candidates are receiving?

Recruitment is about representing employers professionally as well as finding suitable candidates. Poor communication can reflect badly on both.

Looking at other reviews, it appears I'm not the only person to have experienced similar frustrations.

I wasn't expecting special treatment, just a professional level of communication. Unfortunately, that hasn't been my experience.

Nancy was amazing, she made the process from interview to work a pleasant experience.

I’ve had a fantastic experience working with Pertemps, particularly with Matt and Kam in the payroll team. They are both caring, helpful, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile to help with any queries or concerns.

They make you feel valued and supported, and their friendly and approachable manner makes such a positive difference. It’s reassuring to know that you can rely on them to provide assistance and deal with things professionally and efficiently.

Pertemps is a best recruitment agency .staff is very nice

I have worked with Pertemps Agency for nearly 10 years. Pertemps staff have been very professional and supportive where needed. Pertemps selection of great nurseries to work in are excellent. I am happy with my Pertemps Supervisor staff in repack department because they are all very good. I like their behaviour. They deal us in good manners. They assign the worker's duties accordingly. All worker are happy with them. Senior Supervisor Zaya is specifically very nice and she plays very important role. That's why I have good and great experience about them. I hope that they should improve their attitude and behaviour more than expectations. Thanks

I was supported in gaining employment, which was attempted in the past with other staffing agencies and I failed to secure the job however with Pertemps, Paige T helped me secure the same job, keeping me updated regularly, with interview tips and also ensuring I’m fully prepared for the interview as well as completing the whole application process start to finish. I really loved the support and experience.

Pertemps were quick to resolve any issues regarding pay and working hours.
Staff are always helpful and will answer most questions asked

Would like to give Chirag nayi a massive shout-out for being an absolute legend...has been very patient with me and things going on healthwise...extremely nice gentleman...always been paid on the dot with pertemps..no complaints

I have been working with Pertemp 2 years now and found very good agency . They are very accurate on payment. I got my Holliday pay what I didn’t even expected it. As a part time worker I got good Holliday payment. Their staff very helpful specially miss helen sandland.

I have had a really good experience with Pertemps. The staff are always friendly, helpful and approachable, and they are always happy to help whenever I have a question or need support. Communication is very good, and they keep me informed about anything I need to know. The best agency I have ever worked for. They communication is on point, they do more than what it says on the tin.

I very rarely give 5 star reviews, but Pertemps are Friendly, Efficient, Respectful, Communicative and Professional.

They are just good at what they do.
