Comprehensive test promising results and option to pay for a full report but actually the results are not given until after payment and the promised “full report” was useless and a waste of money. The letter has blank patient name and the full report has answers to one question. The questionnaire had identified so many issues, the results could be super useful if detailed. But no they were a joke. The likelyhood of diseases/conditions were listed like a symptom checker and confirmed what google already told me when I googled “stiff back, fatigue”. A waste of time and money.
Nothing on home page about having to pay. On the "Start your check" page it says "The check provides an indication of the condition(s) that you may be experiencing. For NZ$ 5.49 we can provide the full results and advice for your symptoms." There was no indication of the condition. All results were hidden by a payment page after answering all the questions. Needs to put cost in homepage and remove the reference to "getting an indication" of the condition.
ask for payment after taking the test without informing. i would pay if i was informed from before.
Updated review 27th July 2024
Since writing my first review (below this one), I have heard back from Physiocheck several times, in kind attempts to redress my concerns. These emails were very timely, patient and courteous, which I greatly appreciated. I was advised that there IS indeed a 'heads-up' about the payment due, for opting to receive one's questionnaire results. So, I accept this may have been my mistake - in missing the notification, or pop up warning. However, it would probably be good to make this (even) more obvious. In addition, user error (my error) in another part of the process apparently meant that I couldn't initially access the exercises which were part of the trial subscription. Once this was rectified at their end on my behalf, I was able to see the linked videos. I did not find the first (and only) video I watched - helpful. However, I will add that their suggestion about what the injury might be (questionnaire result) - proved very helpful in the end, setting me on the RIGHT track, for further Googling. I found resources elsewhere which helped (Bob and Brad on Youtube). In my case, I think my issue may be quite complex. Being an ex professional ballet dancer adds further complexity, and I likely need an in-person consult with a skilled physio (trying to dodge the big c as no one masks).
Ultimately - my first assessment of this company was unfairly harsh (started at 1 star - now a better reflection of the kind service I received).
I think their idea of the online check is really great, BUT in more complex cases like mine, a service like this is perhaps of limited use. But there's no real way to know how complicated your injury is, until you get more insight. Definitely a legit business with good intent. Thanks for your assistance, physiocheck. Hope this helps.
First review
This website (NZ) takes you through a questionnaire process, then charges you, (at time of writing just over $5 NZD) - if you want to see your results. This payment is apparently also a, '7 day trial subscription' of the online physio service. In my case, I paid for my results, which were noted as being a 'limited match' to the possible condition advised (that is, of limited use/reliability that the questionaire had accurately diagnosed the issue). I then cancelled my subscription, per their stated terms, 'cancel anytime' - only to immediately LOSE ACCESS to the subscription, with 6 days remaining. So, basically you are paying to complete a questionnaire, which may or may not provide useful insight into your issue. Maybe better to just keep Googling until you find what feels like the right solution. I have contacted them about the abrupt removal of the service I have paid for and not received. I will update, if I receive any useful response. In the meantime, I do NOT recommend.
