When you pay for the premium channel you want premium with no adverts. Tried everything to fix this. Planet Rock is so remote now you aren't able to speak to anyone. Shocking!

An uneasy compromise
At times can be brilliant, but whether it's worth upgrading to premium I'm not so sure.
I'm really averse to restricted playlists and if you listen over a period of time you'll realise just how repetitive it really is, not to the extent of say the abysmal Heart radio etc but it is pretty apparent.
I guess it's a cost thing but I do get sick to death of the same obvious tracks by the usual suspects.
I never want to hear Hey Joe or Paranoid ever again,or for that matter any Bon Jovi song.
There are so many brilliant tracks you'll never hear from big bands or lesser known artists,I guess another reason for that is to accommodate the casual listener who thinks Deep Purple only recorded one song, yes, that one.
But you think of Satriani or Steve Vai,all those albums but you'll rarely hear the former and never the latter.
You'll get plenty of Queen though,ugh....
Basically if you're serious about rock or prog then this station is a compromise, and around 22 minutes of every hour is ads or traffic news.
But hey it's a commercial station so they have to attract the most people, so yeah I get it.
Bitterly disappointed
After complaining (see below), breakfast show presenter Paul Anthony phoned me. OVER AND ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY!!! Unfortunately, the possible work-around that he suggested didn't work.
I'm in awe that their key man would do that for a listener... but the management really needs taking to task over this.
I have listened to Planet Rock for more than 20 years, right from the early days.
I have loved it. I've recommended it. I've probably listened every single day for two decades; I hate being without music around me.
I even bought a Planet Rock-branded DAB radio.
However, I am absolutely appalled that Planet Rock's now decided that Planet Rock will not be available on the Planet Rock-branded radio set that I own because of moving to something called DAB+.
We can't all afford to just throw our radio away because they've decided we should; there's a "cost of living" crisis which affects so many of us, y'know!
Planet Rock's lost a long-standing loyal listener and has left me feeling bitterly betrayed and let down.
Planet Rock no longer available on DAB
Today (16 October 2023) with no warning they have moved onto DAB+. So many of their listeners, me included, can't listen to them on our DAB radios any longer - and my radio is only 6 yrs old!!
Dreadful lack of customer care and insight. Baeur (parent company) should be ashamed and deserve to go bust!
Planet advertising
Planet advertising, it’s getting worse more adverts that music, shame it used to be a good radio station
They play Pink Floyd
They play Pink Floyd, Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen far too often, I change stations when they're on. I know they are a Classic Rock station, but I want to hear more new stuff.
Fraudulent music events
They run a fraudulent scheme. They "organise events" and advertise them using big names. Then, after they've sold enough tickets, they cancel the headliner and replace it with some subpar alternative. Of course, they refuse to issue refunds. Absolutely disgusting practice. As an example, that's affected me personally, was their Rocktoberfest that was supposed to be headlined by Kenny Wayne Shepherd, who was replaced by some second rate band I have zero interest in.
