Everything was exceptional! Team Polygence offers great support, reaching out and when responding to questions. The mentors are incredible as well. Overall, an awesome experience.
My mentor was everything I wished for and more, helping me navigate writing my first systematic review paper, and giving me advice. The writing feedback was very helpful and thorough.
I also presented at the Symposium of Rising Scholars, which Polygence holds and the opportunity and experience were phenomenal. I loved everything and would definitely recommend to the next person.

My mentor was really good. I enjoyed working with him. He was always friendly, supportive, and knowledgeable. The Polygence platform was also very helpful in keeping track of the project progress.

The only issue was the first round of writing feedback -- Polygence didn't tell me what format to use for my paper when submitting it for writing feedback. So, I submitted a PDF, and the reviewer seemed upset by this (going by her messages/comments to me). I had to go back, upgrade to a paid Overleaf account, and then give my reviewer access to my Overleaf document. This miscommunication could have been avoided if Polygence had given me more upfront details about the writing feedback format, etc. Even better would have been to have the format somehow integrated into the platform.

The mentor was excellent -- friendly, supportive, knowledgeable. The Polygence platform was also very good at keeping track of sessions and managing conversations with the mentor. The post-session feedback form was especially helpful in keeping track of feedback for resume-writing and recommendation letters.

mentor was a great fit! the only strange bit of the experience was the UC Irvine class which was a bit of a black box- not much feedback or guidance on anything.

My son found the experience very rewarding and enjoyable. He found his passion through this paper and he enjoyed doing the research with his mentor

It was a great opportunity to create the independent project. All the guidlines from the mentor were helpful.

We have had such a positive experience with Polygence. From the initial call with the representative Claire, to the assigned mentor, Ethan, to the Director of Customer Success, Tyler Vitone. As the lead director, Tyler always was available to answer all questions and offer guidance in a timely and professional manner. Mentoring plus project support

Polygence activities kept my daughter on her toes . It gave her a sense of purpose . The experience with team polygence was cordial and informative

The ability to go hands-on with the field, I liked, while having a real-time mentor that could help me and drive me into the right path, was what made my experience in this program wonderful.

This course was a great academic stimulus for my son to learned relevant literature and write a narrative review article.
The mentor, while knowledgeable, kept changing the schedules, which led to many cancellations. Polygence sent us additional invoices for the missing sessions. This was very stressful for my son, and asking for more payments was not appropriate. While they corrected their actions, this did not make the experience very pleasant.
During the interview session, we were told his mentor would be a faculty member at a major university, while his mentor was a PhD candidate from a second-tier university.

Participating in Polygence was one of the most formative academic experiences I’ve had. I appreciated the program’s flexibility, which allowed me to pursue a project that combined my interest in neuroscience with my personal connection to anxiety. The one-on-one mentorship was invaluable — my mentor not only guided me through complex neurobiological research but also encouraged me to think critically about the broader social and environmental factors influencing mental health.
I found the balance between independence and support especially rewarding. While I had the freedom to shape my own research question and direction, I also had consistent feedback that kept me on track. Through the process, I improved my ability to synthesize academic sources, write in a scholarly style, and present my findings confidently.

My daughter had an excellent experience and would do it again

My experience with Polygence was great. My launchpad sessions and mentor really helped me to brainstorm ideas for my project and gain insight into the valuable expertise the mentors had to mentor. My core project mentor was great in helping me with my project. They made everything very organized and streamline and I never felt overwhelmed. Additionally, my mentor provided great feedback on my writing and assignments to help me maximize my research project quality. Overall, my Polygence experience was fantastic and I would definitely recommend it for anyone interested in completing a project related to their interets.

I loved working with my mentor throughout this process, and I never stressed about it. He was very knowledgeable in the field and gave me a lot of useful sources and insights.

My daughter is a rising sophomore and did her project under the guidance of her mentor, Sami. She wanted to dig into the societal and cultural shifts that might have contributed to the current trend of villains reimagined with sympathetic back stories in books and movies (like Wicked and Cruella). Her mentor is a professor or film and helped her create a video blog exploring the topic. I’m happy she was able to do something so different from what she typically has to do in school. It was a long project- she finished it up in July after working on it for 6 months. We were really surprised she came up with such a unique and insightful topic and hope she continues digging into to topics like this in the future now that she knows how.
