Probio7's customer service has always been exemplary. They respond promptly and are very helpful.

About 3 months ago, I bought one of their yoghurt-making machines from Amazon and, the first time I used it, noticed that - in half of the jars of 'completed' yoghurt - it hadn't set properly. Because I've been making yoghurt for years, it was clear to me that the machine's thermostat was malfunctioning. Probio replaced the machine immediately, and it now works fine. They also sent me a complimentary box of milk/starters. They've also done this at least twice in different circumstances - for example, when The Royal Mail mangled a milk delivery.

The yoghurt produced by the starter sachets that come with the machine (and are available separately via Amazon) is way the best yoghurt I've ever had; it's thick and very creamy. The machine comes with 4 litres of UHT Jersey milk and this is partly responsible for how creamy and tasty the yoghurt is; Jersey milk contains a different type of protein, which presumably has something to do with this.

This milk is also available from Amazon. It's relatively expensive because (in my experience) this is the only UHT Jersey milk that's available in the UK. Jersey milk definitely makes much better yoghurt, Making yoghurt is also far easier with UHT milk because you don't have to faff around boiling it and letting it cool to the right temperature (39 degrees C) prior to seeding it with the starter.

Although the Jersey milk supplied with the Probio machine is relatively costly, you can save money on the starter sachets by making at least 5 iterations of yoghurt from the same sachet.

The bacteria in the Probio yoghurt do not produce histamine inside the gut. I spent years making yoghurt and wondering why I had allergic symptoms (e.g. sometimes-violent itching). Now, at last, I know why. I find that eating Probio yoghurt every day almost entirely eliminates these symptoms, presumably because they reduce the quantity of other bacteria that do produce histamine.

In short, I've found tthe Probio machine, milk and yoghurt starters (and their customer service) to be excellent. I can heartily recommend them.
