Richardson & Starling Avis 

Having been approached by a company which basically told me my roof space was falling apart & I needed immediate remedial action to halt this, at a cost of some £7000, I sought an independent review. I contacted Richardson & Starling & after paying a survey fee a surveyor called round to do an inspection of the roof space. However he inspected other areas of my house & also viewed a neighbour's roof to form a full picture of what was the likely cause of my problem. He advised that while I do have some mould it is nothing serious & gave me a few workable suggestions to stop things getting any worse. The only thing he did suggest which would cost any further outlay was the installation of an extractor fan. A matter of some £200 rather than £7000 but it is the peace of mind that the roof isn't about to collapse that is the most important thing. I felt that Mr Niven, the surveyor, was very professional & most helpful throughout the inspection. If anyone is seeking independent advice about any construction issues in their house I would certainly recommend Starling & Richardson.

Life is full of problems but one has now been sorted by Evan from Richard and Starling. The van arrived with the company logo, so no doubt what he had come to do. After he introduced himself, he went through the work he was going to do. We had a pleasant chat while he brought in his tools and put down carpet protector in the hall way. Once he had is mask on the door was closed and I left him to make as much noise as he wanted while I enjoyed the sunshine in my garden. He showed me the wall stripped of old plaster and after put up the barrier. He tied-up, and took all the rubbish away. The next day the plaster arrived cover up all his good work.

Even although it was a tough job in my kitchen and bedroom, nothing was a problem, even tidying up and protecting my newly laid carpets, mission completed on time, we’ll done guys, your company should be honoured to have you working for them, North Lanarkshire council gave you the contract and should take advice from you on how to provide an excellent service

I had David, Lewis & Josh out to tackle a mould problem in 2 walls. Great bunch of guys who were tidy and efficient in their work. Even helped me move my furniture back and put back up blinds etc when finished. Couldn’t fault them. Would definitely have them back if ever I needed works carried out again. A great asset to the company.

Steven and Jack were absolutely fantastic at the work they carried out within my house, communicated well and also tidied up behind themselves. Highly recommend them!

We purchased an (expensive) Envirovent positive input ventilation system from this company around 2014. It's a great system and keeps the house air fresh (although it does cool the house down quite a bit overnight) This requires periodic replacement of the filter. We've never had a problem getting service until this year. Over the past 2 months, I have called at least 3 times to arrange replacement filter this time around, and we have *never* received a call back. We never get put through to a specialist. When querying reception, we get lip service "the surveyor is busy".

The third and final time, I also called to arrange a damp survey for my parent's house. No call back on either. They've lost that business - it's a big job (unfortunately for my parents) - because Wise Property were way more responsive and way more professional. I would definitely recommend Wise Property over Richardson and Starling.

And on this third time, I suggested we may be interested in purchasing a new updated Envirovent system. Wow I got a call back on this, asap. And when I said I wanted to think about filter replacement and I'd need a discussion on the new system's features, I was again told someone would call me back and of course, no-one did. Clearly a bunch of cowboys looking for a quick sale with no interest in after-sales service for a long time customer.

I will be writing to Envirovent to advise them to drop this company as a distributor and services partner. What a bunch of cowboys,

Excellent work done in the kitchen. Floor was replaced. Guys kept me informed about what was being done.
Workers were very professional...knew their job.
No mess as it was all tidied up before they finished.

They came on time.got rep called forrest.couldnt meet a better rep.he went straight to problem cupboard, we had mould in it.done all the tests.explained the problem in a way we understood. No gibberish. Found out problem wasn't bad as I thought.ty

Asked for someone to come and check our property for damp as we discovered mould in bedroom. Had one email asking for additional information but nothing after that. Obviously not enough money in it for them.
Since this post I have received an email and phone call from Paige at Richardson and Starling to say they did not receive my email (lost in the ether). They have offered to investigate my issue and will put this experience down to our mistaken belief that technology is infallible.

Just want to say a big thank you to all the guys from richardson and starling, and specially to Daniel P , Grant A and John S. My Mum's house had major work done, the guys were very professional, and courteous, they explained everything that was going to be getting done, thanks again guys.

Brandon & Brian done a amazing job in fixing the dampness in one of my rooms, cleaned up every day when they finished went above and beyond to make there customer happy

South Ayrshire branch done work in my council property last week and this week due to bad dampness They done a brilliant job from start to finish and tidied up after the work was completed.
