Had to take Lump Sum on the phone the gentleman was very helpful, very informative, patient, professional and kind while we were going back and forth on the phone for an hour sorting out all the details to a successful conclusion. Thanks for the help.

I called Scottish Widows today
23/3/26 regarding a pension that I wanted to cash in. The lady that I spoke to was very patient and understanding and talked me through my options, and the legal aspects regarding HMRC {tax} the conversation roughly took about 30 minutes and I was told when to expect the cash payment into my bank account. Very pleased with the conversation.

There was a few minutes delay in actually getting through to a representative. However, once connected I found that the very kind and considerate Elaine was very helpful, knowledgeable and thorough! She made the whole process of understanding my retirement pension options very easy.

Rapid completion of a full process
Rapidly answered phone after selecting options - followed by a great, directed discussion about cashing in my small pension pot. Incredibly friendly and helpful member of staff. She had me through security very rapidly and we covered all the safety and security sections at a reasonable pace. She checked understanding at every stage. Once we’d gotten all the details she said she’d send me an email to log in and request payment. It arrived within 30 mins and I followed the link to complete the online form and submitted my request in under 15 mins. Very happy with the service overall.

As always Scottish Widows are excellent with customers making us feel safe and confident that what we are requesting is achievable and safe especially in these particular times.
Martha this morning was brilliant, she made sure i was fully aware of the risks as well as very friendly she is an employee to be proud of and i wish her every success in her career "what ever she is paid it should be doubled " quality above quantity always wins through if you want to keep the loyal customers it isnt always about being the cheapest!

Great customer service
I have been with Scottish Widows for a while now. Very convenient is that my main bank account is with Lloyds so they share all changes. Recently i had to file Early Ill Health Retirement, it went very smoothly and the customer service walked me through the whole process brilliantly.
