It was 1981, Margaret Thatcher has been in power for two excruciatingly long years already, Charles and Diana have just announced their engagement, Bucks Fizz have won the Eurovision Song contest and Scribbler has just been born! But unlike Thatcher’s reign, Charles and Diana’s marriage and the UK’s run in Eurovision, Scribbler thrived into what can only be described as a ‘well good shop’ (thanks @cheeselover92) and now has stores across the country and a brand spanking new website. Whether you’re looking for something outrageously rude (The Daily Mail hate us!), ridiculously funny, or sickeningly sweet, we've got you covered. We work with the quirkiest, most outlandish and anarchic range of designers to bring the best and …ahem, boldest products to you. Get ready to get it wrong... Scribbler level wrong.

Never put the order through as it deleted it. I have seen so many bad reviews now I’ve had a look at this website on here. Most say the same things I’m experiencing. I found 4 cards and typed all the messages out and added photos, one card I’d written out a short poem I was making up on the spot. Once in basket lo and behold all the text and photos in each card is all gone. Hence why lots of people seem to receive blank/empty cards when they could have sworn they had written something before purchasing. Try to contact the company and can only do it on email. I don’t want to spend days trying to sort out some cards through an email chain. At that point alone it’s not worth the hassle for some cards you can get elsewhere and actually slightly cheaper for the same amount as well. They say click the live chat function but this too does not work it just takes you to the FAQ page with no chat option. Again another things I’ve seen other reviews stating. Never thought to check reviews before using this website as I thought hey it’s only a couple of birthday cards how wrong can it go, apparently the answer is extremely. Lost my custom and a friends custom before we even put an order through. Was showing a friend the cards in here and he too was looking at ordering a few for his family. Once I told him if the issues he’s now gone through moonpig. I’m yet to find replacements and now have to remember what I wrote in the poem as it was impromptu and I can’t get that text back after it deleted everything. Please for your own sanity avoid wasting an hour or two of your life on something so simple as a card. Use another better company.

Brilliant choices of cards and posted quickly. No extra charge to send to self with extra envelope either

I have just received a reminder to send a card by a set date. I didn't do it. I have cancer and started treatment last week, so I have been ill and forgetting things. My last priority is logging on and sending cards. The reminder was entitled: 'You have a sieve for a brain' and 'You Forgot'. The email then reads (further down, and following their made-up list of things I have also probably forgotten) 'Forgetfulness is actually a really endearing personality trait. Said no one ever.' It's unprofessional, insulting, judgemental and horrifying reading, when I am trying my best to remember stuff because of the treatment. I will not be shopping with them again. No company should be this insulting, because I have not spent any money with them next week. Imagine receiving this kind of email as an even more vulnerable person. Scribbler absolutely typifies the current, 'me first and only' stance that businesses adopt now. I'm not supporting that. There is no space for that attitude in the world. You need to change you attitude, or you need to close. Don't carry on pushing this awful attitude at people, who you have no idea, are suffering. I will not be spending money with you again.

Never ordering from here again. Not only did you increase prices but your service is now garbage. Thanks for ruining that.

Great funny cards. Love the rude ones. Very good quality and price.

The selection on Scribbler is awesome, the pricing is clear and I have a lot of time for their customer service. The one thing that I see consistently though is the website letting you down. It can be confusing, fails to load properly, navigating filters are never remembered. During checkout on the Shopfiy page you cannot change the delivery and there is nothing to explain why. I contacted support and they told me I have to set postage on every single card individually despite the fact they are all going to the same place. Scribbler has great gift and card ideas but is operationally being let down by their technology and technology decisions resulting in repeated negative feedback which could 100% be avoided if more effort was put into the website and way better integration with shopify checkout to make delivery selection better. While I love scribbler as a place to buy cards, I will probably avoid buying online until they fix the many useablilty issues with their websites.

Avoid at all costs. I ordered a Valentine's card well in advance, and it still hasn't arrived. Customer service has not responded. I usually use Moonpig, but decided to try Scribber because I wanted a particular card. This was a big mistake.

Great product and service. Was easy to customise the card. Arrived ahead of time and my partner loved it!

The Proceed to Checkout button is greyed out. I can't get any further and I've checked the address etc is complete. It doesn't help you and tell you what the issue is.

I always purchase my wrapping paper from here. Really lovely designs and colourful. A good shop for birthday gifts and stocking fillers, lots of unique items.

I ordered some Jellycat Coffee Beans as my children and various nieces and nephews had wanted some before Christmas. My orders were cancelled because I was accused of being a reseller, like I was operating some kind of scam - how offensive! The email was written by James and started with ‘Thank you for your orders’ but effectively accusing me of being a scam artist. The funds I had built up on my Rewards haven’t been added back onto my account which I’ll be chasing up.
Disgusting company with a computer says no customer services agent. Jellycat are very popular, both myself and my husband come from large families and have children ourselves, these were on the Christmas lists of many of the children and teenagers. You can order as many as you like in different orders on the Jellycat website so why do they think they have the right to behave in such a despotic manner when Jellycat doesn’t? I’ve ordered numerous Jellycats from Jellycat, Selfridges and smaller independent retailers and never had this problem. I ordered 8 Coffee Beans not 100 which were supposed to be gifts for my children and nephews and nieces throughout the year. This is a company that deserves to go out of business if this is the way they treat their customers, they’ve clearly forgotten what the word customer means.
Having read through some of the other bad reviews the response from Scribbler is hilarious ‘this isn’t our main feedback site’. So what, you have a page on Trust Pilot with an overall rating of Bad. Do you honestly think that kind of response helps your customers with legitimate complaints?

if you're thinking of buying wrapping paper from scribbler don't bother. They have good designs but the edges are glued down and there's also a sticky label that won't peel off. The only way to open it is to slice along the whole tube with a knife as it rips when you try to open it. Lots of paper wasted plus it's expensive at £4:00-£5:00 a roll

Good selection of cards but website is almost unusable on mobile. Terrible accessiblity, especially when phone in dark mode. Check out asks for your billing address twice. Guys, you have PayPal, just add PayPal one click which auotcompletes all billing info! I don't understand how exommerce websites can be so bad in 2025. Oh, and ASAP delivery is five working days. Brilliant.

This is the second card in 2 months both taking 11 to 13 days to arrive, missed both the birthday dates , won’t be using scribbler again , pointless.

I'm typing this with a heavy heart as I love Scribbler cards and have been buying from them for years. They keep making changes to the website and it gets worse every time. I could only add text to half of the cards in my basket so I had to abandon the order (after spending some time getting it ready) and buy them from somewhere else.
This is a real shame, they seem like a nice company and the product is good, but they're 100% let down by their unuseable website.
