Arrived 4 hrs late. As soon as unpacked I could see ruching on seams on 1 recliner and 2 seater sofa. Delivery men said due to packing and would disappear. Well 4 weeks down the line and it hasn't
One recliner is fine as it should be. This tells me there is a manufacturing fault. A so called independent specialist came and as soon as he came through the door said the claim was invalid, that it was a design fault. Both the store manager and inspector agreed they could see the ruching. I took photos on the delivery day which clearly show the problem.

The customer service

When to ScS in St Helens where we were welcomed by Amy who was so pleasant she let us walk around the store without any pressure selling. We had our two grandsons with us and Amy was so good with them chatting to them and explaining what she was doing talking to their parents and grandparents. Amy was so attentive and explained everything to us and put us at ease with her knowledge of the process when purchasing any furniture. We felt very satisfied and pleased with our experience in the store, and Amy gave both boys a treat before leaving which was nice.

From the moment we walked into the store we where greeted by friendly welcoming staff, Vinny introduced himself like a friend we had known for years, he offered us refreshments and left us to it, we where hanging around one particular sofa and he approached whilst we sat, he sat on the floor and we chatted about a lot of stuff except the sofa, we where in complete ease by now, we discussed with Vinny that we where concerned that the house we where purchasing would not be available to us until, who knows when, we didn't want to miss out on the discounts being offered. We where offered a appointment to return before the discounted period ended so we could think things over. We returned, met with Vinny again and it was like popping over to a old friends place we hade refreshments and placed our order in the knowledge that we could delay delivery if we needed to. We have never felt so much at ease and as welcome as we did here, as a same sex couple we are naturally cautious about judgement. Not the case here, we left feeling like we wanted Vinny at our forthcoming marriage celebration. The power of a stress free experience, delivered by one of the nicest salesman we have ever met.

Not got my sofa delivery driver says wouldn't fit. Didn't even try yet 4 other workmen said it would even 2 of the workmen going out to the van but they had already left. Saying it was deeper then the last sofa yet when I asked in st helens store they stated not as big. What I seen and other people said the same it would of fitted. Even one person saying to them is that it you just gave up. They responded we tryed. All the railens were removed as well as my front door before they even arrived. Wouldn't leave it and took it back. Is this scs policies get more money from people. So im now waiting to speak to someone for nearly 1.40 mins want a refund and if they refuse i go via my bank. All refunded, this is there fault

We visited the store on the retail park. St Helens, Merseyside. The lady who assisted us in choosing our suite was very professional. Lovely person excellent sales service . Couldn’t fault her in any way.

Went to view sofas at SCS store and went back a few days later (31/12/24) to place the order. All staff were over friendly but we were seen to quickly and got what we asked for without any pushy attempts. We were warmed there was a long wait for delivery which we didn’t mind initially, but we were told this was the worse case scenario of delivery by 28/3/25. This date came and went and heard nothing from the company. Having read back through the paperwork, there was a disclaimer of 4 weeks variance so we waited some more. When eventually a text appeared booking in a delivery for 11/4, it wasn’t suitable due to a morning hospital appointment so i attempted to call and reschedule, having been told this was completely fine when ordering. I was on a long queue so opted for a call back. The call never came. I called again the day after and received a call back 5 hours later. The lady told me she would request an afternoon slot and call me back. I repeatedly told the lady it wasn’t a problem to change the day but she was insistent that an afternoon slot would be ok. 2 days later o hadn’t received the callback promises to confirm this so I called again. Again it was a long wait so I opened for a call back. This time it was only about 2 hours but the person on the phone knew nothing about my request so I had to start the procedure all over again. Again, I was promised an email would be sent and an attempt to book the afternoon slot. No surprise that I heard absolutely nothing AGAIN. I left it another few days and this time thought I would just go into store as I needed to pay the remaining balance and I was sick of being told someone would call me back. I paid the balance and was told by the manager of the st Helen’s store that he would guarantee the afternoon slot and he would email. Yet again i heard nothing. Now delivery day came and as I’d had no conformation that the delivery would be in the afternoon, I had no choice but to miss the hospital appointment and get up at the crack of dawn as they start at 7am (so my texts told me!) At this point, I hadn’t received a delivery slot the night before, and have not received any phone calls on the day. I yet again have to call customer services and wait over 2 hours for someone to call me back to be told that it and coming at all. Extremely unhelpful so I asked to speak to a manger. After sitting on hold forever, I for another lady who said “why has she put you through to me, I work on the same department”. Another explanation of how shambolic it all was and another stint on hold to be told she can’t get through to the distribution centre and there were no managers to talk to so she couldn’t do anything.
So a day wasted, a hospital appointment missed, hours spent calling and visiting stores to sort out the mess all week and still no sofa or answer. Absolutely shambolic. Avoid at all costs!

Great service from just browsing. To ordering with Lewis and finally delivery today. The delivery team messaged at 6.30 am and I was able to track my delivery all day .
I was given a specific hour for delivery and a courtesy phone call to confirm the time.
The delivery team were friendly and very informative. They were very efficient and extremely tidy. They took every last piece of packing away.
Overall I am thrilled with my new sofa and the service from SCS.

We were greeted by Lewis, the most friendly and knowledgeable person we have ever met, he made the whole experience a pleasure.

Amy at the St Helens branch was friendly, helpful, courteous, professional and made my experience of shopping for furniture without my late husband relaxing, without any pressure. I would highly recommend her.

The staff in the shop where we made our purchase were excellent. We were not rushed, they took time showing us suites and the huge choice of fabrics. We made numerous visits usually dealing with the same staff member. Once we ordered, we brought wallpaper and carpet samples to try against what we were purchasing. We received an excellent personal service from the St. Helens branch and now the suite is delivered we are so pleased with the delivery service and the quality of the product. Thank you
