Seed Talks Avis

Really engaging talk from a subject matter expert whose passion for the topic never strays into the realms of unclear or over-ambitious thinking. The parallels with art history and the study of the Studio Ghibli realm is magnificent and absorbing.

This was a fascinating talk by an extremely knowledgeable and entertaining speaker. A great balance between academic content and folklore delivered with humour and passion.

The lecturer was really passionate and explained all the topics really well, was super easy to follow and learned quite a bit!

I'm a speaker for Seed Talks, and what they do best for me is to deliver the most amazing audiences - people who are interested, engaged and ready to have a good time in good company while learning something new. Does't matter if they find new knowledge or a new angle on something they already know - Seed Talks brings out the explorer in people.

What an amazing insightful and educating talk. Very interesting, the time flew

Great concept, location and vibes. The talk and fascilitstor also very engaging . Can’t wait for the next one

My second time at a Seed talk. This was another fantastic evening at the 'Psychology of Cats' talk with Dr Jon Bowen. Dr Jon was brilliant, humerous, well paced and hugely knowledgeable, an evening really well spent. The set up was great, well put together, nice compering and good to have the wonderful cat and kitten charity attending. The chairs get flipping uncomfortable after a while, but that's a small whinge. I'm looking forward to the next one that grabs my attention!

Informative and a delightful evening of learning. I would highly recommend as a relaxed environment and comfortable experience.

What an excellent speaker! Dr Bowen was informative and very entertaining. I have lived with cats for over 40 years and I learnt so much about cat psychology. Well organised event and I thought it was great to have a local animal rescue charity there too

What an honour it was to listen to Helen talk. She is so passionate about Ghibli, it radiated throughout the room. She was incredibly knowledgable, but in a completely warm and accessible way with a great sense of humour which I massively appreciated. I learned so much and look forward to her new book!
P.S I was too nervous to ask a question during the Q&A, but I’d love to know how she wangled an interview with Miyazaki after the story about how uninterested he was to speak to anyone!

The presenter was excellent & very very knowalgeable about his subject

Excellent talk on cats

Came with a family member, who doesnt know anything about anime, was educated well on the art history behind studio ghibli.

She enjoyed it and i hope to get her into studio ghibli

What an interesting and informative talk. The art references showed me things I had ever noticed in the films before and I feel like I will need to re watch films through different eyes.

Great talk - funny and very informative. Would definitely recommend.

Great (not too serious) talk, really enjoyed.

The speaker offered a highly informative, nuanced and insightful presentation covering both the neurological aspects of engagement with poetry plus the creative and emotional significance of symbolism and meaning-making in the human experience. Particular highlights were the points made about the central importance of traumatic and other significant psychological experiences requiring witness to be brought to them to bring meaning and understanding. Other elements were how poetry uses negative capability to help us understand the world and thevpoems used to illustrate poetry's powerful capacity to translate our inner worlds if we allow it. This talk has made me reflect on creative ways to use poetry within my therapeutic practice.

Excellent talk with Dr Dapo Olafimihan on ACT

I attended a Seed Talk on the Psychology of poetry and it far exceeded my expectations. The speaker, the content, the structure of the session and the follow-up were all exceptional.

Perfect venue, delivery. insightful information and time (5pm) for The history of Witchraft talk by Dr Gillian Kenny in the Sugar club.
