Booked Sherwood Castle Retreat via WOWCHER, never again. The cabins are situated in a lovely forest setting, our cabin is described as Superior 3 bed Pet, we do not have a pet and never requested a pet cabin, so on opening the door you are met by the musty smell of Dog. The carpet is dirty and needs to be replaced. The cabin is gloomy and needs updating.

The accommodation is for six people, yet the refrigerator provided is ridiculously small, so a lot of the food we brought could not be refrigerated. Insufficient cupboard space to store food. No tea towels, washing up sponges or dishwasher tablets, so bring your own. They do however provide a large bottle of washing up liquid.

TV is analog, constant interruption, poor reception, ended up switching it off.

The instruction manual contained no information on how to work the cooker. we were successful in incinerating the pizza’s.

Even after reading the simple instructions on how to operate the central heating it did not work . So you can imagine a cold cabin, wet towels after using the shower and hot tub and no heat to dry them!!!!

The beds were comfortable, however, the master bedroom bed only appears to be a small double, and too small for two people to share. There is a mounted TV in the room, not connected.

There is only one bathroom, no shelving to place hygiene products . No lock on the bathroom door.

The best thing about this cabin was the hot tub, Very clean, extremely hot .

The owners of this development need to address the comments, concerns and complaints made and invest and turn this development around. Customers expect value for money and what your promotional material describes. I will stick with Hoseasons.

Just came back from a 2 night stay
The lodge was lovely and really clean the hot tub was amazing and really clean every were and all the staff there are polite the boiler when arrived wasnt getting the radiators ward so seen a member off staff straight there and sorted it and even came back 30 mins later to nake sure all was ok and working i thought that was really nice

Would have got no stars if I could. We have booking confirmation for 3 lodges next to each other for my 40th birthday we even went to reception to confirm the lodges weren’t booked out to others and they said they wasn’t, when we got here they booked the 3rd lodge out to another group so we are not all together which is crap for the children because they can’t play together. And to top it off the people who took the 3rd lodge booked lodges with hot tubs and they’ve turned up to find out they haven’t got them and their children are devastated. No one at reception wants to help they fob you off and tell you to ring head office. Absolute ****show! There is 6 unhappy groups/families, my personal opinion is to avoid this place at all costs.

I booked this for a family get away, a 4 bed log cabin. wonderful, no slot machines or fairs but a squirrel outside the window on morning 1, my grand children loved it. Its quiet and peaceful and some wonderful places to go to nearby. the cabins are very well equipped and was so happy I booked a second break with the hubby without small people. my 2 lovely grand children given the choice of feb half term where to go have asked for me to book the log cabin again.
