Shiftsmart app is not working as it states within its own documentation. The “support” is handled by AI, without any direct option to speak with the company when payment issues arise. Moreover, as an “independent contractor”, the complete list of tasks required to complete a shift is unachievable within the time frame designated. If you don’t complete the entire task list, you don’t get paid at all. Therefore, as in my case, if a shift requires double or triple the allotted time, the app AUTOMATICALLY, clocks you out of your shift, and you do not get paid for any time beyond the designated time allowance. The app did not give me the $100 bonus offered for completing 3 food preparation shifts before April 14, 2026, and after filing 3 support tickets through their AI CHAT FEATURE, I have yet to hear anything back from them.
I will be pursuing more action through the US Department of Labor, whether it be fruitful or otherwise. BEWARE! Shiftsmart is not all what it’s cracked up to be. Even the managers of the stores I have worked at so far indicate they have issues with them as well, including lost sales. Apparently, Shiftsmart is coming across to me as the only winner in this “game” to avoid paying their fair share of employment taxes, or the actual pay the worker earned AND DESERVED! Again I say… BEWARE!

I still have yet to be paid for a job that I did on March 21st and 28th, Smartshift owes me $40, I have tried to reach out to support and they have been no help, I would not recommend doing work through this company.

This is the worst A.I. system. They take your money. When you complain the system erases the company reply when it has found and error. There is no way to speak to anyone

I am a college student who decided to take this job for income. Shiftsmart had an incentive bonus going on until March 15, 2026. The task was to complete three food prep shits receive $300.00. I drove over 31 miles there and back to complete this task, doubled up an worked two shifts in one day to complete the task. Fast forward it is now March 21, 2026 and I have not received my payment. I have reached out several times creating over 5 support tickets to which no one has replied. I have reported to the better business bureau. Next is to create a petition to put them out of business.

I use to love working with Shiftsmart but theres been a few times where they didn't pay me for my shift. Worked over 200 shifts for them towards the end .. they have gotten bad. Customer service rareky replys to you. If you have an issue and something happens with your shift.. good luck getting bad. Its like pullling teeth sometimes and then they " punish" you and bring your scores down when you done nothing wrong and provide them their proof

Their app is completely pointless if it can only offer times and locations that you are not available to work or work at. I am getting overly annoyed and frustrated at this point that they won't let me filter out times and locations, and I wake up every morning to only see early morning shifts 15+ miles across town. I'm not going to drive 30 miles round trip for a 1.5 hour shift that pays $24.

Shiftsmart started out on, circle K does not want this company in their stores, and they penalized their employees that do what their suppose to do instead of disciplining the ones that don't. They do everything they can not to pay for full shift. BE AWARE THIS IS A BAD COMPANY TO WORK FOR

I began working for them about 2 weeks ago. EVERY SINGLE shift there was an issue. Either Shiftsmart sent me to a store at the wrong time so I was turned away. Issues with the app for tasks. ZERO training. The worst? They refuse to pay me for work. Today, I sent both "Sam," the owner a text demanding payment for shifts worked and he refuses to respond. I contacted their bot and as of 2/27/26, it is saying they have no record of my working on 2/24/26 even though I have screenshots of my pending pay for that day that is STILL not paid and an email from them 2 days ago saying I would be paid for that day. I have screenshots of them saying I was paid a certain amount and never received payment. I'm contacting an attorney today because it seems this company has a habit of not paying it's employees. Their rating on most sites regarding them is a 1.6 and every single poor review states not being paid, issues with the app and being turned away because Shiftsmart sends us late to the stores.

This company is a scam!!!! Stay away!!!! I have been trying for months to GET PAID! While they still want you to work. SUPPORT DOES NOT EXIST.

Horrible app. Showed up rearing and ready to work. 10 mins early. The app half a$$ walks you through finding a lead. Who is supposed to be at customer service waiting at 7am. I waited till 722am for this guy who never showed but the app says he's here working. I scaled the entire floor and employes looked in warehouse. He isn't here. It's a huge scam. They waisted my time. And I am sure they would steal.my money. Avoid at all cost.

I have video evidence of their managers intentionally detaining our workers on the property and threatening them with police for touching food waste with bare hands...

I have an entire log proving that their company supports this type of behavior. 10 out of 10 do not recommend

They displayed a $19 pay rate, but when you click on it, the job said it paid $13.75. So, I called the job, and it only pays $7.50!! That's all I needed to see to not trust nothing they say.

Customer service doesnt exsist. If anything goes wrong youre on your own. Goodluck uploading payment methods, and if you have an emergency or the weather isnt permittable your scores plummet with no hope of fixing.

I was happy and relieved to work on New Years Day 2026. Shift Smart offered me a 4 hour shift for 52.00$ at a local c-store. I arrived at the location and got the login information from the manager. Knowing what I know now, I should have left. The manager wanted me to stay and help her. I was glad because I needed some money. This economy has destroyed my savings and it's getting worse every day. I say this because it is the truth and after working for over 35 years, I know a good economy from a very bad one.
I enjoyed working the 5 hours and truly was happy. But after regaining a strong internet connection, shift Smart had told me to go home immediately even though the manager was pleased with my work and accomplishments. I have not been able to speak to a human at Shift Smart. It's all AI and I vow to never use it again. Be warned ⚠️. You can get shafted like I did, and it's not the enjoyable type of shifting.

Scam of a company, they pay you until they don’t and there is 0 recourse when that happens because the few numbers they do have to reach a human, will just ignore you. Avoid at all costs after the bonuses run dry, which only takes a month. They will be shut down from class action lawsuits pretty soon anyway.

It's false advertising on the pay I signed up for one that said $18 an hour for an hour and a half and when I got there and checked in the pay changed to $12 an hour and they sent me somewhere 35 miles away from my house so when I got paid my pay was just $18 and I had to put half of that in my gas tank so it is not worth it

i showed up to circle k and they had the door locked which made me late , then after checking in was told that she did all the work because Shiftsmart never send them any help so she turned me away and i now the app keep showing that i did not complete all task and i will not paid which is not fair for i wasted gas going way out fountain hill from phx

Absolute trash waste of time. I showed up 10 minutes early and checked in, waited for my Lead to arrive. App said I was looking for "Ben." Another person came in, also with Shift Smart for the same task. They double booked us. The Circle K worker who was to train us (not Ben) was very rude and insisted, "I only need one of you." I proved that I had been booked for this spot, this time slot, for "food prep - snack." He insisted "we don't need food prep, they keep making it and it goes to waste." The disconnect is on their end but my time gets wasted and I don't get paid. You would think that, since it keeps happening, it might be up to the store to remove listings for something they'll just send you home for when you show up.

Absolutely trash company to work for their scam artist they wanna steal your money and your time you can’t get a hold of anybody there’s no HR there’s no customer service I bought decides to get paid and how much you get paid even though you guys agreed a certain amount of money for a certain amount of time! Where is the Arizona wants to do action Lawsuit? Let me know. I have a lawyer line up already and report it to the BBB and labor board about classification workers about withholding pay

I love it, it’s a great side hustle once you get the hang of it. You can be as committed or as laid back as you want and you are rewarded for your hard work in the form of silver and gold rewards, early access to shifts, and shift bonuses up to $50 extra for only an hour and a 1/2 of work! Hopefully I’ll start seeing some Walmart orientation shifts soon in FL, but so far so good with Circle K
