If you come prepared that you are going to be had than you get a deal. Otherwise they will probably take you for every penny
Shady, poor salesmanship, waste of time!
Went into dealership on 12/30/15 to look at used vehicles. Was approached by a nice young salesman, Leon Henry. Very professional but then came in the finance people (two older men, first James; then Jimmy, heavy set with white hair). Wasn't looking to waste my time or theirs. Car was 2014 Nissan Sentra S. Told him price I would like to pay but I knew that number was a stretch. Sticker price started at $13,795. They came down to $13,750, then $13,700. Was trying to get lowered to $13,500 and would've closed deal on spot. They wouldn't budge. Ok. We liked car, left deposit and I signed binder. I hesitated to walk out of dealership same day with car. Would come back next morning to pick up car. Doing online search later that evening, found same car at S.I. Nissan for $12,795, same VIN! Go into dealership next day and they wouldn't honor price found online. Said they didn't know how cars.com had car at that price. Asked for and was given my deposit back and I left. End of story, right? Nope! Receive call from another finance manager, another Jimmy (last name Rosario) out of the blue on 1/2/16. Stating that he wanted to close the deal with me. Oh, really... I stated my dissatisfaction and said I wasn't interested. He says that he will speak to his manager and see what he can do for me. He calls me back to offer car for $13,250-13,500 and says lower price was misprint and was now corrected on website. So what's he doing for me??? I was already done with these jokesters. Bunch of crooks! I will NEVER attempt to do business with these crooks again. Dealership under new ownership, same old tricks!
Avoid Nissan of Staten Island
Went there yesterday because they gave me a reasonable quote on a 2015 Sentra SL via email. Was promised a premium package and navigation package with added benefits. Got there and wasted roughly 1.5 hours. They take your licence right away to run your credit. If you qualify for 0% APR they will purposefully jack up the final price. I had the quoted price ($19,795) in cash in my messenger bag, but was hoping to put down half and finance the rest especially since I have 700+ credit score (pre-approved for Nissan Altima and Maxima). Spoke to a sales manager and the finance manager. They tried the "yo-yo financing' game (classic scam). When I wouldn't budge they typed up a made up invoice of the car via Microsoft word and presented it to me as proof that Nissan had charged them $21,000 for the car. They suddenly also did not have the color choice I wanted. I was dealing with Frank Rao, Ismael Robles (the manager that originally quoted me $19,795 - lied to get me in the store), and either Manny Lopez or Fernando Reyes. The only decent person there was Nicole Rao because she was able to direct me to their restroom.
This is a classic scam. It's a shame they need to scam to make a living, but I guess even thieves need to eat.........
I would strongly recommend you avoid this place like the bubonic plague......
