Buyer beware

Purchased a bunch of clothes for my mother in law. Sizing was inconsistent, expensive to return and refund values were not accurate. Not worth the hassle. Will not be shopping here again.

You better like what you ordered

You better like what you ordered, or it will cost you! I used to shop in the Soft Surroundings Stores regularly- one of my go-to stores. I decided to order a dress for Easter. It took 8 days to arrive and was packed with care. The quality seemed similar to past store purchases. Sadly, the dress looked terrible on me. The on-line return process was easy. What hurt - it cost me $25!!! Shipping, handling & tax from the original order are not even partially refunded. Then I have to pay $9.95 return shipping. Tryers Beware!

Ordered three items

Ordered three items. Only one item sent correctly. I ordered the Laguna Topper, item was not in package that was sent. Some type of white dress that looked like a t-shirt, xxl (I wear a PS) was in the package. On 4/16/25 at 3:25, I called S.S. to inform them of their mistake. They emailed me a shipping label that said it would expire 4/16/25. Third item never sent. I am constantly receiving emails stating item being processed. Soft Surroundings start hiring competent staff.

I haven’t even taken the clothes out of the cheap plastic packaging. This company has taken a nosedive - misrepresentation online and in catalogues.
Not at all what I’ve experienced in the past - my bad for not checking these reviews first.
Cheap printed material for the same high prices. No feel whatsoever of the quality they describe when you shop.
I feel ripped off.
Lesson learned.
I will not be ordering ever again.

Email scam advising me (at my email…

Email scam advising me (at my email address, but with the wrong name) that I had purchased $640 worth of women’s clothing.

We’ll wait and see what the follow up is, but I received a burst of emails welcoming me and two emails about fake large purchases.

Soft Surroundings IS HORRIBLE

Soft Surroundings files for bankruptcy in 2024. An asian company that also bought Coldwater Creek bought them. I have spent most of today on the phone with their customer service people - who are HORRIBLE. Could care less.

My story is the same as the others

My story is the same as the others. My order had a FedX tracking number that day after day showed they’d yet to receive the package. I emailed Soft Surroundings several days ago, with no response. Today I called, waited 27 minutes for a representative, was told my order was shipped through DHL, I was given a tracking number and told the order would be delivered 4/4.Guess what? The tracking number doesn’t exist. I will wait until Friday, then dispute the charge. I’m over waiting any longer.

A long-time customer taps out

Have ordered from this company and its sister site Coldwater Creek for years. The quality of merchandise and order fulfillment has gotten horrible over the past year or so. Orders aren’t fulfilled and when I contact customer service I’m told the orders “are on back order,” sometimes for months. The tracking numbers are invalid. Customer service staff seldom available on the phone and messages go unanswered. As far as I’m concerned Soft Surroundings and Coldwater Creek are now scam sites. Beware.

Don’t order from this company

This used to be a pretty nice company but now it’s a scam site. I ordered a dress and a month goes by I’ve heard nothing so I reach out to customer service and find out my order is back ordered and won’t be shipped for four months! I’ll have no use for a long sleeved dress in the middle of summer! Don’t order unless you don’t mind waiting 6 months for your item to arrive. I feel like they’ve been bought out by a corrupt Chinese company meaning I’ll never see my order or my money again.

Once very nice store in a local mall

Once very nice store in a local mall. That closed and now only online. Went from always good quality and service to sometimes good quality and awful order fulfillment and lousy return policies. I urge you to STAY AWAY.

As with all the one-star reviews

As with all the one-star reviews, my order for two dresses seems to have fallen into a black-hole. I placed the order the beginning of February with a ship date of February 21st, which at that time was fine. Here it is mid-March and nothing. It is still in the fulfilment stage. They should really send an email giving me a choice to wait for the order to cancel. As of now, I can't get an answer from customer service. It is the same old script, "...it is on back order". No kidding sherlock. Never again will I order from this company. Either fulfil your orders or shut the business down.

No More an Ethical or Quality Company

They used to be a quality company, Now mislead and are dishonest. Customer service is in the Philippines. I ordered a dress on 2/13/27 and it was to be shipped on 2/27/25. It was never shipped. I called three times. Each time, they told me it was in the warehouse and would ship in a few days. Today, they charged my credit card, which they are not supposed to do until it ships. I called and they said the item will now ship by the end of March. I asked about the credit card charge, and they said they had not charged my account. My bank says different. When I cancelled the order they could not give me a cancellation number and promised it would be coming in the next two days. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY.

Still waiting for a January 13 order!

Following Soft Surrounding's being acquired by Coldwater Creek, I just can't seem to receive the product I ordered on January 13. "Awaiting Fullfilment" is the only message at the site with regards to the order. After talking to two representatives over the past three weeks, who both stated that the clothing was in San Diego, the order still has not arrived. Likely I will never receive the order but it is sad because this was such a high quality and service friendly company. JC

2 fake tracking numbers (so far) for a $150 day dress, shipping not included. Been 8 days and they gave me my 3rd tracking number just now. I'd review the item but I don't have it and won't need it when it delivers as it's already late.

One month is too long to wait for order.

I ordered a dress one month ago that I wanted to wear on March 15. It has been over a month, and I have not received the dress. I need to have time to try it on, etc before March 15. I will never order again, as the shipping takes too long.

I placed an online order for soft denim jeans on 02/24/25. When I had not received my order or notification of shipment by 03/05/25 I called for an update and was told the item was on backorder and would be shipped at the end of July. I believe, when an item is not available at the time of order, the customer should be given the option to proceed with the order or cancel. This business practice is deceptive and four months is way too long to wait for a pair of jeans. Needless to say, I canceled my order.

I placed an order a month ago. When I called for a status the first time, they said that it would arrive in fulfillment and shipped out Feb 26. I checked the status online on 3/3 - it stated it was still in fulfillment. I called again and they said that it arrived in fulfillment and will be shipped out. I requested they expedite the shipping and they told me they would. When I called back for a status today (3/4), the first represented read the same 'script' about the status. I requested to speak with a manager. After waiting 30 mins, the manager 'researched it further' and said the dress wouldn't be in fulfillment until 3/7. My response was - "So you are telling me your representatives are instructed to lie?" After 'apologizing', I requested to cancel my order and refund my money. I received the email confirmation of the cancelation but I will have to confirm the refund in the next couple of days. Truly an awful experience from a customer service perspective and it sounds like that seems to be the way they do business based on the other reviews I have just now read.

Bought from them regularly many years ago, gave them a try recently, never again
Ordered two items December 2024 one was shipped straight away, the second did not arrive, they were able to constantly send me emails/texts for offers, nothing on my item
I placed 3 calls to them, was told shipping dates, nothing, in Feb 25, I cancelled the order & asked for a refund, they claimed I had not been charged for I shipped items, I had, after the customer service rep put me on hold for the second time I got my refund
Will stay with Macy’s, better quality, great clothing, they communicate & ship promptly

If I could give 0-Star rating

If I could give 0-Star rating, I would. As you read through all the other 1-Star ratings, you will see a definite theme. Products not available, no information on when they will be shipped, dates continuously being pushed out. Well, I have a couple of pending orders that I have notified SS to cancel, since it's obvious I'm never going to get them. Like so many other women who have left their reviews, I had been a SS customer for years, and loved their clothes. I asked my kids for a gift certificate from there, and that is where the problems started. Orders cancelled, items out of stock or no longer available - even though they appear in the latest catalog. It was frustrating beyond measure. And all the little messages SS posts in there responses -- "So sorry for your negative experience. We appreciate your feedback" is just BS. They really don't care. But I'm done. Didn't realize it had been purchased by Coldwater Creek, which closed its doors here a few years ago. But it's a story as old as the hills. Once the original company is sold, it gets run into the ground. I don't want to see another catalog, and I will never trust this company again.
