My 1.5 years of experience review.

I've been a user of the "SOMA SmarShade 3" for almost 1.5 years now. In short, the product hardware is solid except for one little weak point, and that is the battery pole connector prongs. They tend to lose the connection. You can mitigate this by opening the device and pulling back the prongs a bit so they have better connections to the bare metal of the battery poles. The reason why I'm conservative with my score is that SOMA is refusing to release software updates that fixes very long-standing issues.

1) Their latest version is spamming the Zigbee network with 2 updates per second, which is wildly excessive and is very bad practice. I've notified them multiple times for almost a year, and they always come back with excuses.

2) In their Zigbee data, they report tilt data, which the product is actually not capable of doing. Also here they were notified about this but came back with excuses and never fixed it.

Brilliant blind actuator

I bought one of these to try and have fitted it today on a vertical blind. The operation is faultless. Set to close at sunset and have just witnessed it doing just that. I have this evening ordered two more now that I know it works well.

SOMA TILT 2 STAY CLEAR DONT BUY WASTE OF MONEY .

Well after nearly 1 year of towing and from g with support, they have finally stopped responding to my emails as they know there Soma Tilt 2 fail after nearly a year of working on and off.
Stay well clear of this company as these are happy to take your order, £518 but not so good with there ongoing software updates which seem to only get worse NOT better.
After examining to get a response for a refund I was told this

I regret to inform you that our company's refund policy allows for refunds within a 30-day period from the day of receipt of products. I am so sorry for all the trouble you've had. The warranty period is 1 year. I deeply regret if there has been a misunderstanding due to this.

But I am going to discuss the situation with the Manager on Monday and I hope that we will be able to offer you a satisfactory solution.

Smart and Professional

I have been using the SOMA Smart Blinds for 2 years and they are great. The product is improving all the time with firmware updates and the Google Home integration works well. More than this, the customer support from the SOMA team has been superb - with quick email replies and updates to their web site help pages. When one of the two first generation units I bought developed a fault, they sent out two brand new second generation units - complete with a DHL reply label for free return postage... outstanding customer service! I can highly recommend SOMA as a company and for their products. Thank you!

Support is great and go out of their way to assist

Support are seriously great when you need them, even offering to replace a soma out of warranty. They are a fiddly bit of kit but inevitably have to be due to the mechanics of a blind.

I have dealt with support a few times and always get routed to a technical person who can assist to the best !

Both Soma Smart Shades stopped working…

Both Soma Smart Shades stopped working within two days of installation despite being plugged in for power. Tech Support is only accessible via email and has yet to provide any guidance to my multiple requests for help.

Excellent product. Fairly good customer service.

A little slow in sending the first set of motors for my roller blinds, but what fantastic products they are. Really pleased. Made normal roller blinds into motorised ones which are set to go up and down at various times of the day. Work with Alexa too. Really robust product.

I have used Soma Smart Shades for years…

I have used Soma Smart Shades for years to operate my Roman Blinds. They are brilliant. Recently I had an issue with two of the units and Customer Service were right on it and replaced them with new updated ones. I cannot fault them. They do a cracking job. Would definitely give them 5 Stars.

Very well made smart blinds control ,I have the vertical blinds and the soma tilt controllers and they are both excellent.extremely easy to install and integrate seamlessly with your smart home. They respond perfectly with home automation. Customer services are excellent and respond very quickly .if your looking for quality and excellent customer services look no further.
