I wish to congratulate the staff on the south eastern railway. We have been travelling frequently on this line and have found the staff on board to be exemplary. You brighten our day!
There should be an investigation into how they have been transporting people in 30C without AC. They are extremely expensive, yet their services are extremely poor- old, clanky and stinky trains. Dela... Voir plus
Absolutely appalling service for the price, all in all has cost me £183.00 roughly in lost wages having been consistently late for work because of this abismal service. It can't really be called high... Voir plus

No wi-fi at all!
There is NO wi-fi service on Southeastern Railway trains, not at all. It’s offensive to tell customers they have free wi-fi when in many Asian countries it works perfectly. England seems a third-world country in many things. This is one of them. We’re fckng doomed.

The fact that at 50 seconds not 45 l was told i could not board and now have to wait an hour for a train don't tell me that you can board before 45sec when your staff stop you at 50 secs leaving a whole 5 seconds to board ridiculous
charged £18 for catching earlier train!
Just been charged £18 for catching an earlier less expensive and less busy train. Thieves that should be ashamed of themselves but quite clearly don’t give a damn. It is a monopoly so what can you do and it clearly shows as these reviews indicate. Why bother with any idea of customer service when you simply don’t have to!
The very embodiment of greed and…
The very embodiment of greed and everything that's awful about modern society. There are no seats at any time of day where these old rust buckets carry miserable commuters their jobs in glass towers. If your train hits someone jumping from a bridge the only offering of compassion and consolation is a percentage of your ticket. If you make a mistake you are charged for it. Charges are hiked each year for a service that has no visible improvements in decades. These run down inethical worms take me on pitiful journey to work where the only offering is a small window of the hills in kent before making its way deeper into the heart of darkness, the overcrowded concrete abomination of London.
Refunds/Compensation- bought with SE- travelled with GWR
Bought a train ticket to Reading from London to attend a medical appointment. I have a South Eastern railcard so I bought my ticket on SE app. My train was cancelled so I want a refund. But South Eastern Trains say no about claiming a refund because my travel was with GWR. I went to GWR and they say they cannot refund because I didn't buy the ticket through them.
Come on train companies, sort it out
Went to London from Kent
Went to London from Sittingbourne at the weekend and only issue was the amount of changes.
On time and train was clean
Oktoberfest 2024 train incident
Last year my brother OJ shit himself on your service it was only a short distance 20 minute's, but unfortunately the toilet was occupied yes he had a couple of drinks and at 43 years old you thought he could of held onto it but unfortunately not so after completely soiling himself in front of many passengers, he could no longer continue the pub crawl and had to go home, please have more toilets on board please. FYI I do have photo and video evidence if required Southeastern Railway!
The train staff are rude and need to be put in a concentration camp
The train staff are rude and have told me their customer service doesn’t know what they are talking about half the time, which makes it hard to know what’s right or wrong or who to even trust. They’re quick to take your money but if you need a refund then you have to wait 28days which is just wrong. Also if you need a season ticket no normal ID is good enough as you have to get one of their special IDs which makes no sense also they updated there buy before you board policy to allow people to pay for tickets on the train however you still get threatened with a fine by said train staff. They’re just disgusting as a company and have no respect for you all they care about it taking your money.
Southeastern HS1
Recently I used the High Speed line for a return to Kent from St Pancras
Other than the return train being a bit dirty in some places I can't really complain.
I booked it 2 months in advance so it was about £16 return with my railcard - brilliant value!
Thank you
Today 06/03/2025 at Ramsgate train station (platform 3/4). There was a tall guy working there. He went above and beyond to ensure I got the right train. He even apologised for interrupting me. Wow, you don’t get that these days. I hope this message gets to him as he was so lovely to me. He looked like he was training another worker. But I just want to thank him for coming up to me and asking me what I needed. Thank you
ROBBERY!...
Regular weekend traveller from Canterbury West.
At the time of writing this review and booking a ticket on their website the high speed canterbury train terminates at Ashford and is replaced by a 'bus service'
But it seems that Southeastern are charging more than the normal high speed fare to cover the 'train bus service for the rest of the journey to canterbury although still charging the 'FULL' fare as if the train is completing it's full journey from London to Canterbury. Canterbury. ROBBERY!.
Terrible at everything
Terrible trains, service, stations, parking and staff. Not sure I’ve ever seen them do anything well which is quite an achievement in a strange sort of way.

I am shocked but I call today in panic- and they answer after 1 sec -First try. The Woman on the line was so kind and helpful. Really appreciate. Thanks a lot
Problems with trains: student, railcards ,staff and prices
I've been taking the trains to and from college everyday as that is the easiest method of travel. I don't mind delays as this can't be helped ,however calencelations of trains 2 or 3 minutes before its meant to arrive and you already have made your way to the station doesn't make sense. As a student I get the 16-25 saver card ,this is only usable for trains after 10 am?? What use does this have for students- none. This saves no money and prices for tickets everyday get more and more expensive. Yesterday a ticket from x to y was £7.50 (return, for the upcoming monday before 10am )and today a ticket (return ,for this upcoming Tuesday) was £12.50. This may not seem like a lot to people getting the train from e.g rural places to london which can take around 1-2 hours. But for a 26 minute train from a rural to a suburban area is ridiculous. The 16-17 railcard can save up to 50% on a journey, but as soon as you turn 18 ,the prices shoot up. Just because I've aged doesn't mean I'm automatically in a better financial situation. Moreover , last year I was given a 'verbal warning ' on a ticket evasion charge that I didn't commit. Their certain ticket machine I used (to scan my card) didn't pick up my ticket and I therefore was pulled over ,scolded and missed my train home. The ticket man proceeded to profile me and record our conversation ,implying I was hostile and abusive- I literally told him I bought the ticket and showed him the recipt. The ticket going through in the morning worked , on the other machine ,so I suggested trying the card on another machine and it worked. He then said I still would need to pay a £106 fine if this happened again. My parent called south eastern to explain what happened and asked to remove the 'verbal warning on my card' and it cant be done. So all in all , pretty horrific and I still have to take the train everyday till July.
Absolutely terrible
Absolutely terrible. Like absolutely terrible.
Why are the trains cancelled or delayed half the time? Half the time I miss my school bus or get late because the trains aren’t being run properly. And the ticket prices are so high for exactly what?
Its such a horrendous service
10 working days to sort out… 😂
Monthly season ticket costing £420 shows in the app, but won’t load to use automated gates.
NP I’m told, buy another and I’ll be refunded once sorted.
But… South Eastern need 10 working days to sort this; what a joke!
I am heading towards London victoria…
I am heading towards London victoria from Gillingham kent and the train was already late and then when reach near victoria london the train stoped again for 2 hr more I have a meeting that I missed and I am not happy with that.
Utterly *&^%$£" incompetent
the disruption you cause when you cancel the train my son needs for school. we buy the weekly ticket for the times he needs via the app with Apple pay. you cancel his train and you do not notify anybody. you do not provide notifications from the app. You take the money and stick your fingers up when the passengers back is turned. We cant even make a claim, because you have made that as awkward and difficult to process. with your dodgy Catchpa nonsense, and only allowing a refund to anything other than the original payment method.
ALL the kids were at the station to learn it had been cancelled and you couldn't be bothered to notify any of them/parents/phones prior.
Basically a prime example of why Britain needs to take ownership of its railways again.
you literally shafted everyone this morning and middle fingered the lot of us.
Its no wonder we all rely on cars these days, with such shabby companies running our transport services.
South eastern is like soviet Russia during its bleak period
If train companies were people, this one would be suffering from syphilis whilst trying to take advantage of you while you're were drunk. Probably wouldn't even provide an apology voicemail.
Nationalisation and all round redundancies can't come soon enough
'We're sorry for the delay' - are you?
The service from Ramsgate to London is nearly always late at peak times. They should stop bothering to advertise the intended departure times, as 95% of the time they're not accurate. Every day they 'apologise for the delay' - possibly one of the most weightless apologies known to man. It would be just about bearable if the trains were reasonably priced, but they're extortionate - the cost is akin to rent. Prime example of the rail mafia, people have no choice but to use them in order to get to work and take part in society, and its daylight robbery. I spend £650 a month on trains and it angers me every day. A woeful situation.
