From my experience interacting with T1 FX Team (t1fxteam and T1Thinus), the so-called "MSG" (Major Session Gap) and "Lego" methods aren't original breakthroughs—they're repackaged public forex concepts like session transition gaps, liquidity voids, and modular market structure analysis, which you can learn for free from standard resources.
The real business model seems to be affiliate commissions via XM Global. To access their indicators, EAs (like MSG Indicator/EA or VKN bots), training, or gated content, you must sign up and fund an XM account using their partner code or referral link. They've already earned from your signup, deposit, and any trades/losses before you get anything. Product pages explicitly state "YOU HAVE TO BE AFFILIATED IN ORDER TO USE THIS PRODUCT!!" with minimum account requirements.
Dewald (the owner, based in South Africa) and the team promote these tools heavily, but delivery feels underwhelming: Training often uses historical charts for hindsight "wins," while live application lacks consistent insight. There's heavy FOMO on social media regards these fake methods of theirs.
A 1-star Trustpilot review echoes similar issues: aggressive risk encouragement, bot underperformance, and unprofessional responses to criticism. If I could rate lower than 1 star, I would. Skip the hype—research public session/pre-market strategies yourself and avoid mandatory broker tie-ins. Better free/transparent education exists elsewhere.
I’m writing this to share my personal experience and opinions as a paying client of T1FX and their MSG Indicator/MSG EA products, and in particular with Dewald (the owner of T1FX based in South Africa).
After following Dewald and T1FX for some time and watching multiple live sessions and training videos, I decided to sign up via their website (t1fxteam.co.za) and "pay to play" the MSG Indicator/EA. As part of the process, I was required to open an account with XM, link it to a T1FX referral code, and fund it to use the “MSG method” and “MSG Bot”.
Product & training issues
From day one I had problems with the product and the documentation:
- The training videos, live explanations and PDF documentation did not align in key areas.
- This led to trades being executed in ways that did not match what I understood from the training and resulted in several losses on my side.
- I contacted support multiple times. While they initially tried to help, I was repeatedly given information that later proved incorrect or contradictory.
- An update was eventually released that fixed some of the inconsistencies, but in my experience the bot still continued to take loss after loss on my account.
In short: for me, the product did not work as advertised, and the guidance around it felt confused and inconsistent.
Risk management & community environment
T1FX actively promotes a style of trading and risk management which, in my opinion, is extremely aggressive:
- In their free WhatsApp groups, there are regular discussions and examples of trades with risk–reward ratios I would describe as reckless (e.g. risking large amounts for tiny potential reward). The owner (Dewald) often cites "no risk no Ferrari".
- Although they position this as “not financial advice”, the environment clearly influences how newer traders think about risk.
- As someone with trading experience, I find this approach very concerning – especially for beginners who may not fully understand the implications.
Again, this is my view based on what I personally observed in the group.
How I was treated as a paying client
I joined one of their free WhatsApp support groups (run by T1FX) and started sharing feedback, observations and risk-related context with other members. My intention was to be constructive and help people understand some of the risks I was seeing.
What followed was, in my opinion, shockingly unprofessional:
- Dewald took offense to my comments, responded by sending a trolling meme aimed at me, and then removed me from the group without any prior warning or adult conversation.
- I reached out to him directly in a calm, constructive way to ask what the issue was. He simply blocked me and ignored the message.
- I then contacted T1FX support (specifically Stephan Potgieter), who initially seemed willing to help but ultimately told me I was “negative” and had an “attitude problem”, rather than actually addressing the concerns I raised.
- At no point did anyone at T1FX acknowledge the contradictions in the training, the product issues I experienced, or the way I was treated as a paying client who dared to ask critical questions.
For a company that publicly claims to be “for the people” and to want to help “1 million people reach financial independence”, I experienced the exact opposite once I questioned anything.
Impact & conclusion
Because of this experience:
- I have stopped using the MSG Indicator/EA and the “MSG method”.
- I have closed my XM account that I had opened specifically because of the T1FX partnership.
- I will not be doing business with T1FX again and cannot personally recommend them to others.
To be clear: this review reflects my own experience and opinions as a real paying client. Others may have had different experiences. But if you are considering signing up with T1FX or buying the MSG products, I strongly suggest:
- Doing very thorough due diligence,
- Being extremely cautious about the risk management approach promoted, and
- Being aware that, in my case, raising honest, constructive concerns resulted in me being trolled, banned from their group, blocked by the owner and labelled as “negative”.
I expected professionalism, transparency and mature communication. Unfortunately, that is not what I received from T1FX or its owner, Dewald.
Dewald, I am honestly appalled at how you have gone from being a man of humble beginnings, to a man who acts as a child. Fame has gotten the best of you.
