The Tank Museum - Bovington Avis 

I loved seeing the tanks but how ever little story a bit creepy may not believe me but me and my mum where looking at one of the tanks my mum said I feel sorry for the dolls for sitting in the tank all day must be boring as a joke but 5 minutes later she said she felt burning on her neck and 3 little marks what looked like scratch makes was on her neck I don't know if she did it her self or it was a ghost attached to the tanks that didn't like the joke but apart form that I enjoy the tank Museum

The Shop Review

My son was so excited on his birthday he had money to buy a model. He found the bone he’s wanted for a while (we didn’t know). So it says in stock and was allowed to purchase it. Was a few days expecting it in the post. Only to get an email saying it’s refunded. Not even a sorry or anything. I think it’s a disgrace when companies take peoples money knowing not in stock. Won’t be using again and will go elsewhere.

I have been visiting the museum for many years, usually 2 or 3 visits per year. Firstly the staff in all departments are always pleasant and helpful. I’m always impressed by the way this organisation continues to change, upgrade and pushes to enhance the visitor experience. My children, grandchildren and I are great fans of the work the museum does, always something different to see and learn.
I live an hour and a half drive away, as a sort of retired person, if I lived closer I’d be there to help.

Probably the best museum in the UK. Portsmouth dockyards & the British Museum right behind it.
A great day out for the family.
There is nowhere in the world where you will find a collection of historical armour like this.
Most of it brilliantly presented in context and on show without jingoistic nonsence.
We are so lucky to have some great museums in this country. While some of them have wrongly plundered some of their exhibits, no-one can level that accusation against the Tank Museum.

Awesome collection. Nice change to be allowed hands on and no stupid elf and safety people ordering you around. This is how all museums used to be.

Fabulous day out, really well thought out and so much to see, loved all the thoughtful little touches, and room to move around. So informative, lovely welcoming staff and always on hand to help or chat. My husband was absolutely thrilled to find a book that he has been looking to get for ages by James Holland- it totally made his day. The shop is amazing and so well stocked- we loved it!

Ordered several items from their online shop for a birthday present. Paid extra for quicker delivery. 5 days later and still no sign of when these will be delivered. Sadly, the birthday has passed. Won’t use again. Before the excuse of Royal Mail strikes is used. This was out with any strike dates.

After visiting tank fest, we wanted to go back and spend the day in the museum! We had a blast! We arrived at 10am and left at 2 with still lots of things to see for our next visit! The interactive areas were a huge hit for our 11 year old, who enjoyed trying on the outfits, playing tank top trumps, having a ride on the tracked vehicle, playing war of tanks on the computers! We will deffinatley be visiting again, potentially in a couple of weeks for the Tiger Day!

I attended Tankfest 2022 & have to say it was superbly organised & marshalled from the minute I arrived until the minute I left,
The show in the arena was nothing short of First class with excellent & highly knowledgeable commentary from all those who commentated.
A look round the museum included in the price - a great shop & loads of choice when it came to food

This is the best day out I have had in many a year

Just got back from Tankfest 2022, day spoilt by inadequate seating in the Orange area , I’ve been a regular attendee at Tankfests over the years , and have normally had no trouble viewing the show from the stone wall , but this year , over zealous Security decided to clear this area after an hour and a half of the morning show , told to sit on the grass area , we couldn’t see over the stone wall now , then told to move up higher to the back wall , no room up there , then the Supervisor went nose to nose with me , just saying move or be moved …..charming , enjoyed the day but unless you can improve the height of the grassed area or put in seating …then I shall for one be reviewing coming back …..

We Recently purchased items for our son who is tank mad. They arrived quickly and in excellent condition. On the back of this I saw they had a Tiger Day coming up and booked tickets. Although I am not a tank fan myself, I went along for a family day out. I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful the day was. The museum, which we had never visited before was amazing and the Tiger day itself was excellent and very well organised. We will definitely be returning and recommending to everyone!

Ordered books online, very competitively priced even with postage charges. Dispatched next day and arrived day after. Very pleased.

I received my online order the next day which was super fast. Books were in pristine condition and well packed. Staff were genuine and happy to help with updating order too.

Fantastic museum didn't want to leave loved the Little Willie tank on its revolving display!
