The I.E.T is Broken.

The I.E.T. is constantly upgrading its systems, which appear to be constantly broken. This is a bad example for an institute that promotes technology don't you think?

I do not really know why the I.E.T exists.

I do not really know why the I.E.T. exists. It serves no purpose. Also, contacting any one there is very difficult. The I.E.T. is just a pointless club that requires very little proof by "members" of their skills and capabilities. It claims to be "professional", what exactly does that mean? It is run by amateurs and volunteers. Why? It used to be respected when run by competent staff. Now it is just a shambles.

Super Support by IET Membership team

I was late for paying the annual subscription fee , then again had few hiccups during payment process, but thanks to quick and quality assistance received from IET membership team, managed to pay before the deadline. Greatly appreciate IET membership team !

Excellent Support from the IET Member Relations Team

I had a very positive experience with the IET Member Relations Team. While trying to complete my membership payment, I initially faced a technical issue with the invoice link. After contacting the team and sharing the error details, they responded professionally and provided prompt support, which helped me complete the payment successfully. I truly appreciate their responsiveness, professionalism, and excellent customer service. Thank you to the IET team for your support.

We had an excellent enrolment experience…

Just wanted to say that I just enrolled my son as a student after speaking to an incredibly helpful person (Amy) who couldn't do enough to support us. He's not really eligble to join at the moment as he's at A level and trying to determine what he's interested in. Hopefully the issues experienced by others will be resolved in time.

I found an error message when I login to "MyIET" account to renew the membership. People from IET is nice and helpful, they make response to me immeidately. However, our IET website and login are very "Old style" and not user friendly that make me have not a good experience. I dont understand why error message can display for at least a week after the upgrade!! My actual rating is: 5 stars to IET staff, zero to IET web system. Thanks

Extremely Poor Handling of CEng Application

I am providing feedback regarding my experience with the IET Professional Registration process.

I submitted my CEng application in November 2024. As of today, 11 January 2026, I have still not been invited to a Professional Review Interview. This is a delay of over 14 months with no clear timeline or resolution.

During this period, I have contacted IET multiple times by phone and email. Each time, I have been told “we will update you soon,” yet no progress has been made. I was repeatedly informed that there is a lack of available interviewers. As an applicant, it is not reasonable to wait indefinitely due to internal resourcing issues.

I also requested a refund due to the excessive delay and lack of service delivery. This was refused, with the explanation that the system had been updated — which does not address the failure to deliver the service I paid for.

Overall, this process has been poorly managed, lacking transparency, and extremely disappointing. I would not recommend the current IET CEng application process to other engineers unless significant improvements are made to communication, processing time, and customer service.

I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the experience for future applicants.

We’re really sorry to hear this has been your experience - your feedback is vital in helping us improve the Professional Registration process, and we want to assure you that changes are already underway, with a clear action plan in place to do so.

The delay you’ve experienced was due to a major Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system upgrade earlier last year, which required pausing registration activity and created a backlog.

Our current volunteer assessors and interviewers have been brilliant in supporting during this time and we will be onboarding hundreds more volunteers in 2026 to bring the significant improvements you are hoping for. Professional Recognition is an incredibly important component of our membership offering and the improvements we are putting in place will benefit yourself and others in the process.

Most, including yours, are now in the final stage of scheduling - however to give you an accurate timeline and resolution, we’d like to offer you a direct call with our Director of Operations, Warren Bath, to discuss your personal case.

A hyped up membership based…

A hyped up membership based organization, they themselves don’t know their standards of membership, the application process is tedious and uncertain, you get asked to provide 1000 proofs in the era where a linkedin profile can tell a person’s professional story, they need you to provide them with an org chart? Seriously? Another funny thing is, they charge you upfront for membership fees, and then they weigh your application. Big joke!!!

Very disappointed

IET promotes itself as a professional institution, but my experience was disappointing. I tried to register professionally, and the process was unnecessarily difficult. Getting in touch with customer support staff was extremely hard, with poor communication and limited guidance throughout.

I have been working as a Service Engineer for many years and expected my experience to be properly acknowledged. Instead, the process felt more focused on fees and payments rather than supporting engineers or recognizing professional competence.

Overall, it gave me the impression that everything in this institution is about money rather than professional development. Because of this experience, I decided to cancel my membership.

Corso consulente d'hotel ILLUMINANTE!

Ho deciso di frequentare Il corso per consulente d’hotel offerto dall’Istituto Europeo del Turismo spinta da una profonda passione per il mondo dei viaggi il settore luxury e dell’hotellerie, per la dinamicità e l’arricchimento personale e professionale che questo profilo lavorativo potesse darmi nonché per contribuire al miglioramento della qualità della Guest experience.

Tutte le mie aspettative sono state soddisfatte e superate. Il corso full immersion svoltosi nell’ effervescente città meneghina mi ha permesso di approfondire ed analizzare, da diverse prospettive, il vero compito di questa figura professionale. Egli è essenziale per aiutare le diverse imprese del settore e non, a portare avanti un business vincente. I due docenti, esempi concreti di consulenti d’hotel, sono pazienti, esaustivi, cordiali, disponibili ed ammaliatori, in quanto riescono a tenere l’attenzione degli studenti alta, dall’inizio alla fine. Ti prendono per mano e ti conducono in questo mondo emozionante fornendoti gli strumenti ed i trucchi del mestiere.
Nota di merito va anche alla tutor di noi studenti, Ilenia, sempre gentilissima, attenta e premurosa.
Questo è un corso che vi stupirà ad ogni step, non abbiate dubbi ed entrate anche voi in questo magnifico universo grazie a IET!

Esperienza di formazione e crescita…

Esperienza di formazione e crescita valida su tutti i punti di vista sia professionale che umano ( nonostante ho dovuto per problemi di lavoro per seguire il corso online c’è stata molta disponibilità ). Professori super preparati su tutte le dinamiche del mondo del lavoro, aggiornati e con molteplici spunti da far tesoro o da partire per esaminare i vari argomenti all’Interno del corso da Mystery Guest.
Consigli che hanno fatto crescere molto me stesso, su punti che non avevo notato in passato , ma soprattutto migliorato e regalato un valore aggiunto alla crescere della struttura che gestisco(Hotel).
Ringrazio davvero tutti per questa esperienza professionale. 😃😃

Does anyone actually work there?

I have tried and tried and tried to contact the IET. Many phone calls and emails. I have not had a response, and no one picks up the phone or responds/replies!!
Absolutely terrible service, especially as they make the rules that electricians have to abide by.

Update: November 2023 I am still waiting for a response from my emails. It seems that when you have an issue that they don't like, they go quiet.
The phrase "Do as I say, don't do as I do" comes to mind with this body. They make the rules, but when you find one that doesn't work, they don't care.

I was disappointed at the process of…

I was disappointed at the process of applying for scholarship. I had to go through all the application, write letters etc. and enter all my personal information. Just to be refused because "likely my university doesn't qualify" despite having excellent grades and university being recognised with fully accredited degrees. There was even no specific answer given when asked, just "likely". They could've do a check beforehand, and not let me go through whole application and wait for weeks hoping for a positive outcome!
