My experience at Tio Business School has been very positive. The MBA programme provides a practical approach to business education, with a strong focus on real-world cases, teamwork, and developing professional skills that are valuable in today’s competitive job market.
What I appreciate most about Tio is the personal learning environment. The lecturers are approachable, supportive, and bring practical industry knowledge into the classroom. The small class structure creates opportunities to interact, share ideas, and learn from classmates with diverse international backgrounds.
As an international student, I also value the multicultural atmosphere at Tio. Studying with people from different countries has helped me broaden my perspective and improve my communication and collaboration skills.
Overall, Tio Business School has been an important step in my personal and professional development. I would recommend Tio to students who are looking for an international, practical, and career-focused business education experience.

Ik ben afgestudeerd voor Hotel- en Eventmanagement bij Hogeschool TIO.
Het gaat inderdaad om geld (heel veel geld) is het, het waard? Zeker niet.

Ten eerste is mijn lichting getroffen door de corona periode. Dat heeft de periode al donker gemaakt. Thuisonderwijs, maar geld terug of een compensatie? Nee daar deed TIO niet aan mee. We hebben met wat klasgenoten een dossier gemaakt voor eventuele compensatie, niet eens over geld. Hier is niks mee gedaan.
Ook ging deze periode ten koste van netwerken, reisjes en uitjes wat de opleiding leuker maakt.

Ten tweede laat je kind nooit naar een studie gaan dat zoveel geld kost, of je moet geld teveel hebben. Ze zijn erg goed in hun marketing-praatje in combinatie met de DUO lening. Door deze opleiding is het vrijwel onmogelijk om een huis te kopen. Waarbij ze bij het TIO marketing praatje zeggen: “ nee dat zal geen probleem worden “.

Ten derde voor veel banen in deze branche heb je lullig gezegd gewoon ervaring nodig en geen papiertje van TIO.

Helaas heeft deze school/studie voor mij erg slecht uitgepakt.
Ik hoop dat toekomstige leerlingen deze reviews lezen om uit het sprookje te kunnen stappen. En dat ze niet de dupe worden in de toekomst door een veelste dure opleiding.

PS. Veel docenten deden hun best en waren toppers.

Na 2 opleidingen vroegtijdig te zijn gestopt nu met alle plezier bezig op tio. Manier van lesgeven is zeer fijn en de docenten kunnen goed uitleggen met voorbeelden uit het werkveld.

Voor mijn minor volg ik onder andere het vak Hotel product van de toekomst. Dit vak word gegeven door Margaux. Super leerzaam!! 5 sterren

Ik studeer nu bijna een jaar bij Tio en ik heb het erg naar mijn zin. Goede docenten met voorbeelden uit de praktijk, kleine klassen en een fijne studiecoach die er altijd voor je is.

Lessen zijn medium en bij sommige bedrijven wordt je niet aangenomen, omdat ze Tio niet als een betrouwbaar diploma zien. Geen school maar een commercieel bedrijf wat alleen maar aan geld denkt.

As an MBA student and a mother, I especially appreciate how supportive and understanding the teachers have been. Their guidance and flexibility have made it possible for me to balance my responsibilities while fully engaging in my studies.

I have joined the January 2026 MBA batch and I am an international student from India. I have had a great experience till now and hope to update you guys about anything throughout the year. The assistance I have received till now in the case of Housing, Transportation and acclimating to the Dutch culture is very flattering. The infrastructure of the University is actually very student friendly and you will also receive assistance from all the lecturers all the time.

Er word mij gewoon geleerd hoe ik een stropdas moet doen

From the day one, everyone was so supportive. Always following up on us and how and where should we go for our next step. Because as an International student, it can be so confusing, but TIO team makes sure you are on the right track.
And also since I am coming from a different city to Amsterdam, they arrange the class schedule convenient for me so I can manage the long distance better.

I am an international student at TIO university. I think it is very important to state a non biased opinion that people can use to create their decision on whether to attend. As a student I always find myself in conversations with other internationals about how we pay more on top of the tuition for legal costs etc. yet we are neglected. Many things they offer are meant for Dutch students and they try to spin it into an international program. You can’t expect to get any help finding an internship and while you are away on your internship you will be expected to find your own housing. And in the case you do find an internship there is a probability they will not allow it. I work a job to try and support myself here and so It makes it difficult for me to go to certain classes depending on the day. However I have not been allowed to turn in work or take exams since there is a 60% attendance rule. This was implemented since many kids were failing however now you are stuck in classes where unmotivated students show up disrupting the whole class. It is known as a school for the rich and it is obvious the school will put profit before the students or teachers. Teachers expect the students to be responsible for their own work yet the people running the school at the top cannot take responsibility for their own actions and the students suffer the consequences in the end. There is much more I could say however, I think in the end all that needs to be mentioned is it is exhausting to deal with the incompetence of the people running the school and so are many of the other internationals. The only reason I gave it a two star review is because the teachers and people working on campus in Amsterdam are amazing. Often it feels like they are trying to rescue us from their own boss. Unsurprisingly we have seen many great teachers quit do to conditions. The school does more to complicate your education than to be flexible in trying to make their students prosper like they mention on their website. There is a lot of unnecessary stress put on by all the fallacy and for a lack of a better word BS. I am only speaking as a international bachelors student so this doesn’t apply for the Dutch program.

Mijn ervaring met deze instelling is helaas zeer teleurstellend. Tijdens mijn bedenktijd (de wettelijke 14 dagen na inschrijving) ben ik opgenomen geweest in een gesloten psychiatrische inrichting, waardoor ik geen toegang had tot telefoon of internet. Dit is medisch vastgelegd en ik heb dit meerdere keren duidelijk gemaakt aan de instelling, inclusief het overleggen van officiële documenten.

Desondanks ontving ik later een factuur van maar liefst €5.000,-, terwijl mij eerder per e-mail was bevestigd dat mijn annulering kosteloos was omdat ik tijdig had aangegeven niet te kunnen starten. Die bevestiging leek voor mij duidelijk, maar werd later genegeerd. Ik heb geprobeerd mijn situatie uit te leggen, maar kreeg geen begrip of erkenning – enkel een factuur.

Ik woon inmiddels in het buitenland waar ik nog steeds wordt behandeld, maar de instelling blijft weigeren om hun eerdere toezegging na te komen. Als dit niet wordt opgelost, zie ik mij genoodzaakt om melding te maken bij de Inspectie van het Onderwijs en het Juridisch Loket, en mijn advocaat in te schakelen.

Ik ben diep teleurgesteld in hoe mijn situatie is afgehandeld. Er is totaal geen begrip getoond voor mijn mentale gezondheid en persoonlijke omstandigheden. Dit heeft mijn vertrouwen in de instelling volledig weggenomen, en ik zou niemand aanraden om hier te gaan studeren als je verwacht menselijk en professioneel behandeld te worden.

Ik zit sinds kort op Tio Amsterdam en een ding is zeker, ik heb absoluut geen spijt! De docenten willen je oprecht helpen, en de mede studenten zijn heel gezellig. De studentenvereniging LSVCognatio (wat samen werkt met Tio) organiseert leuke activiteiten en feesten voor de studenten en leden!
