Visited Toby Carvery Thanet. Awful food, beef was gristly, absolutely tasteless and ordered pigs in blankets which didn’t even come out with our meal. Will not be returning.

I had a breakfast delivered this morning, from the Cooper Dean Toby Carvery
It was amazing, I loved it
Way too much for one sitting, it lasted me all day 😊
It was served in a proper cardboard bowl and lid, and separate tubs for the beans and tomatoes

Friendly staff. Very helpful and polite. Pre booked table, had to wait to be seated , no one at reception at a busy time (1:30). Very helpful after that.
Had to queue for carvery for approx 10 minutes, because the one server had to go out the back to get meat, then veg as they had no assistance. I questioned to get veg,as I reached for the very hot serving spoon, a member of staff filling take away orders was quicker and took it so I had to wait, I couldn't get the alternative because the roast potatoes the staff member was reaching for were at the front of the counter. Waiting you realise that the priority seems to be for the take away meals rather than the people at the restaurant.

We were out shopping in York and decided to pop in to Toby Carvery Hopgrove on our way home. We hadn’t reserved a table however we were offered a table in the bar area where others were also eating food so we were easily accommodated. When ordering the food at the bar, the girl behind the bar was very unhelpful and unwelcoming, she looked miserable and spoke to us as if we were bothering her, very rude. We asked questions regarding the meals to which she could not answer and just kept saying ‘just read the menu’ when she could clearly see me attempting to struggle with my toddler refraining me from reading the menu hence asking her questions regarding the kids menu.
We had to chase up ever course to see where it was, we had to ask for more cutlery as they only brought enough for 2 people although there were 4 of us eating. The encouraged us to buy refillable drinks but the when we went to the machine it was out of order.a couple of our party had selected a carvery to which we had to wait 10 mins for a server to come to serve the meat and then wait an additional 20 mins for them to replace the gravy.
The lady at the front desk was lovely and welcoming but everything after that was abysmal and we will never be returning to this establishment.

Went for a lunch today ,table booked for 13.00 .All of the Food was Cold /Warm at best .
The dishes were either full and cold like the pasta or empty / half empty where they had been standing around and in some cases dried out.
The Gravey was the hottest part and that was also just warm .
Manager blamed the Chef ( if you could call him that ).
IF TOBY CARVERY ARE UNABLE TO SERVE DECENT FOOD THEN IT'S TIME TO CALL IT A DAY WITH MORE THAN 50% NEGATIVE FEEDBACK .

Went to toby carvery middlesbrough,Price increases nothing short of obscene,£42 for two dinners and two cans of coke,The chef with the ginger beard gave my wife two pieces of turkey that thin i did not know if she should eat it or i should take it home and shave with it,they were always good with meat portions before,I said you are a bit shy with the meat and he gave another small skinny bit disgusting,I asked him for a bit of each meat which he gave me but i have as much chance of winning the lottery twice in one week than getting any of the lamb,As for the broccoli it was not al-denti more like al-cemti the broccoli was shown a photo of an oven,The last time i went the breakfast was garbage a lot of which was overcooked but this dinner was a new low,Never again and i hope they go bust as that is what the owners deserve,I did not know but apparently its not that long ago since they got a rubbish health rating from the council and they had to pay a lot of money out to clean it up perhaps thats what they are trying to recover,My advice give it a miss.

Turkey on carvery was down to bones ,so i did not ask for that , beef dripping roast potatoes should never have been put out they were cremated and yorkshire pudding like crisps and the portion of meat is ridiculusly small for the full price you pay , it's like a childs portion ,that was the last time i'm going ,waste of money

Have just returned after taking my wife and daughters to the Toby Carvery, Hilsea in Portsmouth. The service was the only redeeming feature and that was average. Hardly any meat on the plate, largest Yorkshire pudding this side of Nagasaki. Tiny portion of beef was stringy and unchewable, gravy was about as good as Bisto gets and the veg was edible. All in all, not worth the £11.49. Will continue to visit the Forge past Wickham for pure quality, value for money and taste.

Toby Carvery- Chaos!!! Booked table for 4 people @ 6.40. Queue a mile long just to check in, reception/host stressed to hell. Waited 10mins just to be seen as she was guiding people to there tables. Had to join another queue for the bar!!! Our name was called and got told to follow her, she went straight into the kitchen???? Me and my family at this stage was thinking 'what is going on'. Got to the table with missing cutlery. We joined the Queue which was 3 layers, to be greeted by the poor meat Carver on his own doing the best he can. Not the best dining experience. Infact really poor. I think we were all fed up , Real shame as the food is OK.

Great meal in Toby Carvery at Bexleyheath. Food hot and tasty, good service.

Went for a family meal in the Bridgend branch. Served by Oscar who was polite, friendly, welcoming and funny. He’s a credit to Toby. The food was good, generous amounts of meat.

I have visited Toby Carvery Streetly many times and have generally had a nice experience, usually with a friend. On the odd occasion, I also bring my 11-year-old son with me. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was very different, and I left feeling extremely upset and disappointed.

When we arrived, we waited around 5–10 minutes to be seated, despite staff seeing that we were waiting. Once seated, I went to get my son's carvery and waited another 5-10 minutes before being served.

The biggest issue, however, was what happened while we were eating.

My son is autistic and has ADHD. He is a happy, bubbly, energetic child who stims and can sometimes be loud. He wasn't hurting anyone, disturbing anyone intentionally or behaving badly.. he was simply being himself.

A member of staff, Hayley, came over to our table and asked us to keep the noise down. I immediately asked my son to be quieter, as any parent would. However, my son is autistic and doesn't always understand or respond to simple instructions in the way a neurotypical child might.

I waited until we received the bill before asking Hayley whether someone had complained about the noise. I was told that someone had mentioned it. I then explained that my son is autistic and has ADHD. Unfortunately, I didn't feel that there was any real acknowledgement or understanding of what I'd just explained.

What upset me most is the feeling that my child wasn't given any understanding simply because his disability isn't immediately visible.

He is 11 years old, but he is not a neurotypical 11-year-old. His ADHD medication had also worn off by this point in the evening, which can understandably affect his behaviour and regulation.

I shouldn't have to put a label on my child's forehead for people to understand that his behaviour may be different. I shouldn't have to feel anxious about taking him out for a meal because I'm worried that someone will consider his natural behaviour to be a nuisance.

Children with autism and ADHD face challenges every single day. Their families shouldn't feel excluded from ordinary things like going out for dinner.

We hear so much about awareness, acceptance and inclusion, but experiences like this make me question how much understanding there really is when it matters.

I'm not expecting special treatment for my son. I'm asking for *understanding, patience and basic compassion.

This experience genuinely broke my heart. I only hope Toby Carvery takes this feedback seriously and considers how staff can be better supported and trained to understand and accommodate children with additional needs and hidden disabilities.

Nobody should leave a restaurant feeling that their child isn't welcome simply because they have additional needs and disabilities.

I am disgusted.

Went for a carvery hardly no food had to wait for bits to come out and it was flat cold and staff didn't do anything about it and ot was only 12.30pm as well

Staff and atmosphere friendly, inviting and accommodating. Was very well run and organised, Justice is an absolute credit to the company, along with her crew.
Service was given in good time, even at their busiest time and always polite, engaging and with a smile.
Carvery was delicious and was replenished before dis was completely finished, ensuring full range was available. Complements to the chefs.
Massive thank you, for an enjoyable experience.
Definitely recommend.

i went to toby carvery in dodworth, upon arrival i was greeted by a lovely girl with blonde hair, she was very pleasant. we waited about 15 minutes for our table? elliot took us to our table, he was abit rude, we sat down and ordered got our food and waited 15 minutes for our drinks, we only got these because i went to the bar and asked. this place is usually amazing but today i was very unsatisfied. will be going to a different carvery in the future as i never felt more unwanted in a place the chef that served us was nice and pleasant.

We were on our way home at about 1530 and not eaten since breakfast, so popped into our local Toby carvery at Lympstone.
Oliver was our server and I just want to say he was such a polite and friendly young man and very knowledgeable of what was on offer without being overbearing.

I love a Toby Carvery and usually visit Portsmouth or Worthing, but went to the one in Thanet yesterday, as I was at Joss Bay for my birthday.
It was a busy Sunday so fair enough, but the food wasn't changed over quickly enough, so a bit dried out at the base of the serving dishes. Staff were friendly but rushed off their feet.
But - the roast potatoes, (normally the best bit IMHO) we're disgusting! Unpeeled, so there was no crispy bits, just like eating a pile of dry jacket potatoes!!! I couldn't eat them! Hugely disappointing!!! Peel your spuds before cooking for roast potatoes.

Myself and my wife are regular visitors to a Toby restaurant Lower Early, as this one is by far is the best in the area!
I’m not 100% sure but I think the managers name is Manny? Please excuse me if I’m wrong, but this guy is always welcoming and always spends a few minutes to talk to us and always seems to remember about something that is going on in our lives, his team are also very hard working and polite and I highly recommend visiting this lovely restaurant.

Four of us visited Ipswich carvery. Meat is now weighed before serving on a filthy set of scales. Appears to depend what meat you have for the amount you have! Terribly slow service for 5pm on a Saturday. No lamb left and beef appeared so dry we had pork and gammon. Mash potato was dry but other vegetable dishes were better.

Went to Toby carvery castle Bromwich today and Isabel one of the bar tenders was lovely and polite great customer service did my drink how I liked it no complaints was lovely woth everyone there and was just an overall great service

The meat caver Brian was good as gold absolutely great customer service had good conversation treated the young girls that was with us excellent and even washed his hands before serving one of them a vegetarian dish as he touched meat before hand can fault him at all.
