I have had serious issues with my…

I have had serious issues with my business computer. I had a consultant take several hours last week get into my computer only to mess up my files and send files into another new drive. He was barely easy to understand! I called several times only to be told that the last consultant solved the issue when he in fact worsened my computer which is now malfunctioning. I called again yesterday to request an escalation of the issue but failed. Can I get a cancellation and refund and go to another tech support.

Automatische Verlängerung trotz Widerspruch

Automatische Verlängerung 2 Wochen vor Ablauf, obwohl ich dies nach Anleitung der Homepage deaktiviert hatte. Widerspruch hatte Erfolg, trotz der ganzen Werbeversprechen in dem darauf erfolgten Chat. Zwei Tage später wurde Account deaktiviert, obwohl ich noch für folgende 12 Tage bezahlt hatte! Updates, evtl. Verlängerung, nichts mehr.
Komme mir vor wie bei einem kleinen Kind: Ich erfülle dir deinen Willen nicht sofort und du ignorierst mich weil du beleidigt bist. Traurig, denn hier geht es um Internetsicherheit bei einem millionenschweren Konzern und nicht um das Spielzeug eines kleinen Kindes!
Erst nach weiterer Intervention wurde mein Account bis zum Ablaufdatum (hoffentlich?) wieder aktiviert.
Jetzt heißt es: TrendMicro, nie wieder!

A 15 year decline of Trend Micro on…

I have been using Trend Micro on personal PCs and Smart Devices for in excess of 15 years. Almost 18 months ago I noticed that the Monthly Security reports on all Android devices were incorrect or outdated or simply non-existent. I started a dialogue with Trend that, in written form, suggested they acknowledged the problem was real and they were trying to engineer a solution. In the following months of regular dialogue I trusted their responses to the extent that I even upgraded to a more expensive package. Big mistake (BM) #1.
I requested an online discussion and a mutual time was arranged and the call took place. At their request I uninstalled & reinstalled the software on multiple Android devices (and on their advice checked the Security reports after a month). The problem was not solved but the technician advised they would escalate the problem to a higher level of support and they would come back to me. No return call ever made. BM #2. Several further time slots for phone calls were arranged but none were ever received.
I phoned the local office and spoke with a very polite person that made all the right noises and we uninstalled / reinstalled again (again waited for a month for updated / corrected reports). No change and no further meaningful correspondence from Trend.
Finally given up (yes, 18 months) and have (tried to) take the step of cancelling Auto renewal. After 7 attempts and constant messages of ‘Oops. Something went wrong…..try again later’ I can sense an upcoming argument.
A classic example of a product leader being allowed to deteriorate to a cellar dweller in performance and support. STAY AWAY, DO NOT BUY.

Buyer beware!

From other reviews it seems that I share the bad experiences with this company. My subscription is not up for renewal until January, but they charged me a renewal fee already. And that although I had cancelled Autorenewal months ago.

A Scam: Cyber Security Company that Uses Compromised Info

If you're thinking about going with Trend Micro, maybe think again -- I wrote them this message after they failed to respond to my inquiry about charging me for an account I've never opened, not once but four times. Their customer service team told me to follow instructions to cancel an auto renewal that I never agreed to and second, the portal they sent me to didn't even work. Even a contact form to question and order number failed to work. I sent them screenshots of the issues. What's hilarious is they responded to my first outreach instantaneously and didn't follow through on my second and third and now fourth outreach, asking for them to refund me and remove my information from their accounts. How can they be trusted to secure anyone's information if they are allowing identify thieves comprise information of others and use it to open accounts. DO NOT BUY. Go with ESET instead of the SCAMMERS
Here's one of my messages to them, as they won't reply; I have had to reach out to them on social media: "Hey Trend Micro, why are you not responding to my email request to cease charging me for an account I never opened? Your portal is broken and I sent you screenshots. And emailed your customer service email and the email I sent suddenly bounced back more 8 hours later, when it seemingly went through to your team before? How can you promise cyber security if you're avoiding handling a matter of fraud. You're a scam."

Do not waste your time and money

Do not waste your time and money with this absolute useless software - constant bugs that have cost me hours of back and forth with support and they arent willing to get on a call to resolve the issue with their bugs.

Cancelling subscriptions as they are so useless and frustrating to deal with

Awful anti-virus experience

Awful anti-virus experience. It is constantly popping up with trivial nothings, asking to restart your web browser mid-use, popping up this, notifying you of nothing important, blocking your games and commonly used apps from launching. It is such an annoying AV to use, it reminds me of how bad Norton was. This is literally like malware. Avoid it. Eset and Bitdefender are a million times better. I bought a three year license, stuck it out for a year and moved to another AV because TrendMicro is so bad.

Blatant theft …

I find it bordering on theft when I had cancelled my Trend Micro product, receiving acknowledgement only to find that Digital River has again deducted my account for subscription amount. This transaction is in spite of having written acknowledgement agreeing to cancel my subscription. I am going to write to the Department of Fair Trading so hopefully they can warn prospective buyers to be on the look out.

Ich habe 13 gültige Lizenzen für je 3 Jahren gekauft und nach mehr als ein halbes Jahr funktioniert nichts mehr. Auch eine Neuinstallation ist nicht mehr möglich. Keine Change die Hotline zu erreichen, schlechter geht es nicht !!! Nie wieder Trend Micro, könnte man das Geld direkt in den Müll werfen !!!

Creditcard charge without any purchases!

As I checked my bank account today, I noticed that I was charged €109,90 for a service I never bought. My bank statement says it was DRI*Trend Software Ireland, a company I do not know and never bought anything from. Besides that, I live in The Netherlands and don't own a computer so I have no need for any antivirus software programs. I haven't bought any subscriptions from them in the past either.

I will be going to the local police station tomorrow and I'm gonna file a police report for fraud. I urge every victim to do the same!

Trend Micro kept sending me renewal…

Trend Micro kept sending me renewal notices for the security that they provided to me. Always with the standard $50 off deal. Finally I signed back up again. I logged into there main website to try to download the program and was surprised to see the same program that I had just purchased for $30 cheaper. So a new customer gets a better deal than an exiting customer. Its a sad day when companies don't reward loyalty. Good luck with your business model into the future guys.

Took the money for VPN but refused to provide

I subscribed and paid for Trend's VPN service for a year. When it was due for annual renewal the subscription fee was taken but the service was terminated. They have taken a years fee and refuse to assist in getting it running again after hours of trying and chat(bot?) contact. They have committed theft - pure and simple.

I canceled my subscription within 4…

I canceled my subscription within 4 hours. An email stated that I would get a refund within 7 days. Money was never refunded. Credit dispute was no help. Called them and was on hold for three hours. Hung up. Steer clear of these crooks. They're liars, thieves and have no customer service.

After 10 yrs, treated like dirt.

I have had Trend Micro for 10 yrs. now and have not had any issues with them till now. My acc. had autopay they renewed my security for my system, but they sold it to me at the market price of $162.85, I can get the same coverage from them for $54.95 (same system) the tell me it the way the system is set up. This to me is a slap in the face I have been with them for 10 yrs. anyone that has had them for some time should be treated as a preferred customer. They don't have anyone to speak directly to, so you communicate via chat. Thy had no suggestion for a solution. They are a rip off. For that price i should get 3 yr subscription.

While I had an acTren Microtive account

While I had an active account, Trend Micro seemed fine but I was planning on traveling overseas so I didn't renew my subscription, planning on doing it when I returned. Very shortly after my subscription lapsed, my computer started to function very slowly. I didn't know what it was at first but thought it suspicious that it happened right after the expiration of Trend so I uninstalled Tend completely and guess what, my computer returned to normal operation. They planted a sub-routine in the Trend Micro software to signifigantly slow your computer if your subscription lapses. Also, their software was always saying that my subscription could protect multiple devices so I also installed it on my phone early on. After the whole slow my computer down because my subscription lapst thing, I also uninstalled Trend Micro from my phone. Problem is that even after completely uninstalling Trend Micro from my phone, I still get Trend Micro ad pop ups that I can't close easily, meaning that they also installed adware on my phone when I installed Trend on it. Dirty tricks not indicative of a reputable company. I don't care how good their software is, I will NEVER use Trend Micro again and would never recommend it to anyone else either.

Programm 5 Sterne, Kundenservice 1 Stern

Ich nutze seit knapp 20 Jahren TrendMirco als Virensoftware und bin seitdem von allen Viren verschont geblieben. Das Programm bremst meinen PC nicht.... soweit alles gut.

Aber bei mir wurde auch wie bei Anderen die Software einfach automatisch verlängert, obwohl ich 3 Wochen vor Ablauf extra geschaut habe, daß die Verlängerung abgeschaltet war. Wechsle aber immer mal zwischen 5 und 10 Geräten weshalb ich auch keine automatische Verlängerung möchte.

10 Tage vor Vertragsende wurde dann trotzdem die Verlängerung kommentarlos von meinem Paypalkonto abgebucht. Die telefonische Beschwerde bei einer deutschen Nummer leitete mich zu jemand englisch sprechendem mit stark asiatischem Akzent weiter, die Verbindung war so schlecht, daß kaum ein Gespräch möglich war.

Das Geld soll ich nun in den nächsten 10 Tagen erstattet bekommen. Aber dafür ist nun mein Account mit den letzten Tage Laufzeit einfach verdunstet.
Tipp: im Paypal-Account nach dem bezahlen gleich TrendMicro für zukünftige Abhebungen sperren.

DO NOT USE

Do not use this it is absolutely awful. I have been using the Chrome extension and it was meant to warn me if a site was a scam or not and it did nothing so I thought ok, then into the new year the parcel still hadn't come and I found out it was a scam. They clearly don't care about people otherwise they would have alerted me to the fact that the website was a scam.

this company are thieves

this company are thieves - cancel your auto renewal - they ignore it. Complain and they say sorry we will refund then they debit anyway. When you complain again they just issue another direct debit. They then say it is Digital River's issue
