Uni-Assist: Basic document requirements are not clear to staff
I am writing this merely to tell those who are applying, it is really nothing but a gamble.
I graduated high school in the US, completed an associate's degree (two year college) and have some 4 year university education. At the beginning of the year, I asked for clarification if Uni-Assist wanted just my transcripts from my later college and university education and received a templated legal response that did not at all address my question. I tried twice more asking my question in different ways hoping someone would know. All times I received the templated answer.
I searched for weeks spinning on the websites and related links in attempt to find the answer and had taken their test which said I was eligible to apply. I mean if they needed something else they would tell me. The application window opens and there is a list of documents required of me that I had not seen on the public websites but I still had the bulk of them. Judging by their processing times and the date I submitted my documents I would be fine.
I watched their processing times change from 6-7 weeks to 7-8 weeks then back down to 6-7 weeks all around the time the application window was coming to a close. It was about to become 9 weeks and I wasn't given an update. I emailed them and they were still evaluating my documents. The very next day they finally answer the question I asked them all the way back at the beginning of the year and I didn't have the high school transcripts they needed. But what is really upsetting is they gave me the wrong answers on the other transcripts. A few days later I received an email correcting the previous evaluation.
I can apply again next year. But Uni-Assist made it clear that just because I am using some the same documents the evaluation timeline will not change. They will start the process all over again and I will have to pay for it again.
