Posting literally from my hotel room
Posting literally from my hotel room. Lovely hotel but absolutely full of riff raff. Constant noise in the halls people shouting and drinking outside. Just carnage to be honest no relaxation at all I feel like im at a uni accommodation. Not expected for a village hotel. I wont stay here again. 1am by the way. The bar is closed.
DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT VOUCHERS!!
I had been gifted a £150 gift voucher and tried to redeem this online against a weekend edit offer. I selected the upgraded room with £50 to spend in the bar/grill. I went on the live chat that advised to put my voucher code into the promotional box, which didn't work, then advised that you cannot get any offers with a gift voucher. told me there was no contact number I could phone to sort this out, instead gave me an email address. When I went into buying a gift voucher to see how to redeem it There was a phone number that you have to call to get the booking from a voucher! They were no help and said as I was paying with the gift voucher I would have to pay the going rate for the room and wouldn't be entitled to any offers. I know there wasn't a discount on buying the gift voucher, so I don't understand why the offer would't apply. The only reason I was gifted the voucher is that we quite enjoy our stays at the Village, but think it's time to move on!
Disappointing experiences at two Village Hotel locations
I have recently had experiences at both Village Hotel Watford and Village Hotel Solihull, and unfortunately both were disappointing for similar reasons relating to cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service.
Approximately a year ago, I visited the spa facilities at Village Hotel Watford. The disabled changing rooms were in an unacceptable condition, with bins overflowing with sanitary products and wipes, urine present on the baby changing stations and benches, and discarded underwear left in the corner of one of the rooms. I used the spa for approximately two hours, and upon returning, the changing rooms remained in exactly the same condition, suggesting they had not been checked or cleaned during that time. Following the visit, I also received repeated marketing calls over several weeks encouraging me to join the gym/spa membership despite declining multiple times, and I continue to receive marketing text messages despite opting out on several occasions.
More recently, I stayed at Village Hotel Solihull in a club room, which did not meet the expected standard. There were no complimentary refreshments provided, the cups were dusty, and the kettle appeared visibly dirty. Several items of furniture were worn or damaged, both lamps in the room were not functioning, and the bathroom had a large section of missing tile exposing the surface behind it, along with visible marks across the tiled flooring. Attempting to order room service was also frustrating, as the website repeatedly failed to process payment, and when contacting reception I was met with an unhelpful response advising that I would need to come downstairs to pay even for the food to be delivered to the room.
Experiencing similar issues across two separate locations has been very disappointing, and I hope greater attention can be given to cleanliness standards, maintenance, and customer service moving forward.
Bullies
I ended my membership with these scam artists in April last year, well i thought i had. After telling the gym staff i had to cancel for personal reasons they accepted it and apparently cancelled my membership of £50 a month.
3 months later i am being threatened with debt collectors for £150 !! Baring in mind i am a trainee enforcement agent myself and know full well that you cannot do that.
Had the gym been worth the £50 i paid i ma have gone back but if you want a gym honestly i would rather go to a cheaper 24 hour one.
The staff are clueless and when i went in to challenge them on the matter they said it is a 3 month cancellation notice, i understand this but why tell me you are cancelling it then ? Just pure laziness

Maidstone gotel
Maidstone Hotel
The staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Phoebe was particularly helpful and took us through the gluten free options.
Awful hotel! Awful staff! Never again!
A building site! Constant dripping noise all night as seen in the photos with all the condensation, the room needs serious work. The gym was just laughable how they were still operating is beyond me health and safely would have shut it down immediately. Embarrassing how poor this hotel was, to make it better they just ignored every email regarding the above!
Having had a bad experience with one of…
Having had a bad experience with one of the online people trying to get some gift vouchers extended only to be told they could not be extended. I went direct to the Village hotel Wirral and spoke with a woman called Nicky I told her what had happened and she said leave it with me. And guess what Nicky sorted it. So she has restored my trust in the company. Big thank you :)
Cramped noisy room. Industrial window view.
Day use stay at Village Hotel, Wirral (£75), staying 1pm-5pm. Check in was good & car park free at tge weekend. Room 136 was tiny, cramped & view directly outside window was of broken down and dirty a/c units for the floor below. Room was advertised as 23 sq metres but this might have been 12-14sq metres, including tge bathroom. Our stay was very noisy from constant shouting amongst the cleaning staff on the corridor outside our room. I cannot recommend staying here to anyone else.
Village Hotel, not nice people to deal with
I booked the wrong Village Hotel in Liverpool, when it should have been in Brombough Wirral, same hotel company just 12 x miles apart.
They wouldn’t let me change the booking, albeit my fault, I was happy to pay the uplift in moving to a sister hotel, still no help.
Basically I had to cancel the booking, loose my monies, no help, no assistance, just down right ignorant.
You cannot treat your customers like this.
The initial reservation was with Bookking Com, who are as equally as bad as Village Hotels.
My advise, stay well away.
I have booked a far better hotel in Wirral where they actually look after they customers, absolute joke both of them, “DO NOT USE”
Run of the mill, helpfully manager but the staff in the restaurant are not very helpfull. Room was scruffy, only one shower towel for 2. No water in the room, blinds string broken, mold in the shower
Helpfull manager. Bad bar staff. Scruffy room. Only 1 shower towel. Mold in shower. Blinds string broken.
Worst hotel stay ever
Worst hotel stay ever! Bristol hotel
Rooms are small and walls paper thin, I actually heard the person in the next room break wind and sneeze. Managed to get about a hours sleep due to a constant high pitch buzzing coming from the air conditioning unit which wasn’t even switched on. Then at 5am as people left all you could hear was room doors slamming. Got about 2 hours sleep!
As for the facilities- good if u can use them. Sauna is full of half pissed Middle Ages business men. Food is small quantities and vastly overpriced.
You get much more for less money at a premier inn or travel lodge
Issue resolved quickly and kindly
I had a small issue during my recent stay at Village Hotel Leeds South due to conflicting information provided on site, which initially led to a frustrating checkout experience. However, I was very impressed with how the customer services team handled it afterwards.
Helen from the Host Team was professional, clear, and genuinely helpful, and the matter was resolved promptly and fairly. Mistakes can happen, but the way they are handled really matters and in this case, the follow-up customer service was excellent.
Thank you for taking the feedback seriously and turning this into a positive experience overall.
Security concerns-Swindon village hotel
Stayed at the village hotel in swindon last weekend with my family in a family room. After being moved to another room because of an unsafe and broken lamp, i woked up and never found my work phone.Bear in mind i came in with it and didnt leave the hotel for one instant. Seems creepy and am not very sure the staff did a good job in helping me find it.I think there is a security issue with the village hotel in swindon.I will be taking this up with management in the days ahead.
Village Hotel Club: EASTLEIGH
Village Club: EASTLEIGH:
What’s great:
The food!!! I’ve eaten at the Eastleigh Village Hotel Club twice now and both times I’ve been blown away with the food. Really amazing flavours, great presentation, you can tell it was prepared with care. I asked the names of the chefs (Sam & Victor) as I wanted to say acknowledge them as the food was really cooked well.
I must also say how consistently friendly, happy and helpful the Assistant Manager was Charley, always professional and made you feel like nothing was too much trouble.
Not so great:
It’s a personal thing but in this day and age there’s not many places that ask you to leave your bank card as security.
I personally don’t like handing my bank card over even if it’s put in a plastic locked box. I’d rather someone take a swipe than leave the card. This is nothing to do with the staff but just a personal choice thing.
New Year booking
This was a last minute booking for New Years Day at Village Hotel in Glasgow. The whole experience was very good. Free parking, & access to gym & pool were included. Staff were lovely, room was spacious + spotless.
e stayed at The Village Hotel Maidstone…
e stayed at The Village Hotel Maidstone and overall the room was good and the reception staff were helpful and professional.
Unfortunately, the bar experience let the stay down badly. We had to wait an excessive amount of time for food and drinks because there was only one young member of staff, Cameron, left to cope on his own for most of the night. He did his best and worked extremely hard, but this situation was completely unfair on him and on customers.
His supervisor appeared briefly for a matter of seconds and then disappeared again. It wasn’t until I complained to reception that additional bar staff were finally sent down. This raises the question of what management were doing before a guest had to step in and complain.
It is not acceptable to leave a young employee under that level of pressure without support. The issue wasn’t Cameron — it was poor staffing and management.
With better supervision and staffing, this hotel could be very good, but this experience definitely needs addressing.
We was giving a complimentary drink by the supervisor.
Village Hotel - Bristol
Village Hotel - Bristol
December 2025 - 5 nights
Getting there:
London Paddington to Bristol Parkway. Then I took an Uber (£8) because it was cold (Dec), but in summer I would walk it from the station which would take less than 20min.
Facilities: Gym, pool, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, Starbucks, conference rooms.
I stayed in the Club room. I liked the room's decor and the huge bed, although after a couple of nights the mattress proved too firm for me. The room had an ironing board & iron, tea/coffee making facilities, milk sachets, sugar, cups, but no fridge. Only four hangers were provided! Shower has complimentary shower gel, shampoo & conditioner, and an electronic privacy screen. I was alone so I didn't need to use it.
Health Club (gym, pool, sauna/steam, jacuzzi, plunge pool):
The gym was a proper commercial gym which attracted memberships from the local area, so it was very busy at times. The gym staff were unhelpful, and only appeared interested in self-grooming or only giving attention to the young fit girls wearing skin tight outfits. I saw way too many newbies wondering around the gym looking lost. The pool was ok, with an 'L' shape design offering a tight two swimming lanes. Sauna holds 8-10 people. Steam room 8 people. The steam room broke down on day four. A very cold plunge pool (or large bucket) to fit one. The jacuzzi holds five but was never really hot, so I only used it once.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.
Restaurant/Bar staff were a mix bag. Some didn't have a clue what was going on, and some were very professional and helpful.
Starbucks is Starbucks offering high street prices and the usual beverages and snacks.
Huge car park.
Lidl was a 15min walk across motorways.
M4 Metrobus is a 50min journey to Bristol City Centre according to Google.
Leeds North is the best Village hotel…
Leeds North is the best Village hotel I've been to from amazing staff who greet me when I goto gym Gracie and Joe always have a smile and something nice to say to me .Kyle always comes over and gives me tips on my training .I can recommend taking advantage of the health consultation and maybe get some PT lessons booked to get form right while training.I use the app daily and have booked classes all included in my membership Aqua aerobics by Haley is fantastic to have a non impact workout and Yin Yoga by Elena relaxes me and put me in the right place for winding down I always sleep well after Yin . I feel like I'm part of village family from fantastic staff to other members. I can't believe the change in my health mentally and physically. I wouldn't have been able to achieve my goals without such helpful staff nothing is too much trouble for them . Advice about my fitness and just generally making me feel like part of the family. I think anyone who is contemplating wanting to join should do it . My life has definitely changed for the better my health is my wealth .
Stayed at the Wirral hotel for…
Stayed at the Wirral hotel for Christmas while visiting family. Air con cooling system in the room ran on and off for hours overnight (even though it was not switched on) sounded like a cross between an industrial fridge and a coffee machine. Meanwhile, the coffee machine itself didn't work. The tap for the sink was loose and the bath was rusty. Food is overpriced. TV mirroring doesn't work on apple or android. On a positive, soundproofing between rooms generally seemed good and room clean. Based on what else I've seen on here it feels like the brand is taking much better care of profits than guests (and I imagine, their staff). Avoid if you can.
Huge cost for little in return
Customer service is non existent and gym I use is absolutely filthy, borderline health hazard.
Charge a premium price with a sub standard service. There are much better alternatives out there.
