David was great and helped fix our power outage. He is all round good vibes, a wealth of information and a friendly face!

Terrible trip organisation, massive queues for accommodation and the rooms were terrible value for money, scammed everyone we knew out of their damage deposit and all round ruined our trip. The only thing they got right were the event nights, but tickets for these were largely overpriced, misadvertised and they started letting people in for free halfway through the evenings too.

Terribly organised, communication was not timely, only website experience was smooth during booking, but the trip itself was not as expected.
Didn't provide lesson, lift pass booking details until the night before trip started which left us with a lot of questions. Bus transfer from airport was very late so that was lovely standing in freezing weather with no information. On the first day check-in was delayed until after 6pm with a huge group waiting in the cold to collect keys and bed sheets to take to the accommodation. The accommodation itself does not have any reception and so to find someone for help you have to go to their 'office' which doesn't open until the afternoon. Rooms were not 100% what we expected in terms of layout and views. Not enough detail was provided by them prior to the trip, including that in the hotel room we MUST CLEAN UP before checkout, otherwise you lose your deposit, telling us to mop the floor and vacuum and other ridiculous requests. The bed sheet and linen was also pretty miserable, with pillows and mattress that would never have been cleaned properly after each use. The return bus transfer had a bus driver who apparently missed two passengers and was asked to turn around 40mins into the trip, which would have caused people on the bus to miss flights, so thankfully people on the bus convinced him not to turn back, but would feel awful if you were left there and then had no transport options! So poor communications and the logistics of the trip was not properly organised. The absolute terrible requests from the accommodation could have been told to us beforehand in which case we would have picked a different accommodation.

Wasteland travel are reliable and helpful

I thought the team were friendly but the whole thing felt slightly disorganised. The lack of a Wasteland app was really unhelpful and me and lots of my friends were annoyed they didn’t have one that actually worked.

Overall the trip was disappointing, the trip was badly organized and rather than being looked after we had to work around their hours.

My daughter was on a University ski trip in a mixed ability/friend groups apartment of 4. Only one key was provided (to the tiny apartment) with no option to secure another either via Wasteland or at the Property itself. Emailed on Sunday with a response received on Wednesday: 'organise a whatsapp group or arrange to meet up through the day'. Not helpful when someone needs into the apartment as a matter of urgency - which ultimately happened in our case. We are experienced skiers with many French apartment stories :), this felt like a good deal at booking - this is our first experience with this company, we would not book again with Wasteland. Be prepared for the worst in apartment size, access (key) and customer responsiveness. There are much better options around. Wasteland - a rather unfortunate name reflecting the customer responsiveness?

The event at night is good but need to be more and ends later will be better

My daughter is currently on a university ski trip in France. Rooms are only given two keys so if you aren’t with close friends you will have trouble accessing the room. On her first morning she was locked in her room while sleeping. She tried calling Wasteland who gave her the (incorrect) number of reception at the hotel so nobody answered.
After two hours she had to jump out of the first-floor balcony. It’s not great to get a call from your daughter telling you this. What if there were a fire? Also, people have to leave rooms unlocked for others so this is a safety issue for women at night and possessions while out skiing. More trivial but still important is that she missed half the day’s skiing.
Lots of calls by me in the UK, emails, a rep meeting with my daughter in resort and still no key.
No health and safety, no duty of care, no respect because they are students. I’m waiting for a call from resort this evening. I just know this will have to be taken further unfortunately. All she wants is a key.
The people who locked her in said they don’t care that it happened. She’s not the only one who will be in this position. There is a policy of no more than two keys per room. Their room has six people.
Truly shocking service. Truly dangerous.
The actual booking experience was very easy and i cannot fault them for that. However, i had to leave a £150 deposit to secure my place on a trip that is taking place mid December. This was all fine except for some unfortunate family circumstances which meant that I needed to cancel my booking. The terms and conditions were very unclear about refunds, and even though I am trying to cancel more than 2 months in advance without selecting any options for my package, and the Wasteland team told me that I was not allowed a refund and now have lost my £150 deposit.
Do not book with them unless you are certain that you will be able to make the trip. As a student, it is extremely frustrating to lose this money and I feel let down.

Trip was good but was quite expensive for what it was and communication could be better
I recently went on the University of Bristol ski trip, organised by Wasteland Travel. I travelled on a coach organised by WT and the journey back was needlessly long with the coach stopping at four different gas stations within the first hour because the company card wasn't accepted anywhere. There was a whole week between the outward and return journey with no planning put into where the coach could refuel.
Furthermore, once the coach was finally refilled it didn’t follow the route provided by Google maps or any other mapping service. Instead the coach went in a loop over a mountain, meaning after three hours of driving the coach was a mere 20 minute drive from where we left. Any competent organisation would plan a route back and rapidly realise that Calais is not at the top of one of the mountains in the Alps.
The coach also took a very indirect route back to Bristol purely for the convenience of the team as they were dropped off where they wanted to be dropped off. What happened to customers being put first? Furthermore, the bus stopped off for a driver swap but the new drivers weren’t even there. Once again, this added unnecessary time to the journey and highlights the lack of organisation from Wasteland Travel.
After these unnecessary delays, I attempted to get a refund as any transport system provides a refund if it is significantly delayed. However not even a partial refund was provided. I even checked the T&Cs to see if anything sneaky had been put in there to give them an 3excuse not to pay up. The most relevant one was that WT “cannot be responsible for changes to itineraries as a result of changes that arise beyond our control.” The delay in this journey had nothing to do with changes beyond their control, it was completely down to the disorganisation and lack of planning from wasteland travel. After paying over £250 for a coach journey, I’d at least expect the journey to be organised proficiently and at least partially refunded when it was not.
I completely understand when coaches are delayed at Dover/Calais, because that is out of the travel organisation/ coach driver’s hands. However, this delay was purely due to the incompetence of the Wasteland Travel. When passengers pay for a service, I find it outrageous that no compensation is offered when the service is significantly below standard.
For my first ever ski trip, quite pleased at how everything turned out, only bad side had to use own data-roaming Wi-Fi, do better aha except for that good times all around :)
Decent value for money for a university ski trip- lots of events that one could opt in to do, one retraction was the wait for skis which took over 3 hours in my case. I think this was caused by oversubscribing people to one ski shop
Not going to write a a long review because I’ve trying to sort this out with them for so long, basically I won a ski trip with all expenses paid except things like ski lessons, I couldn’t go so I sold the ticket which I was allowed to do and the effort put in my the company was terrible, the name change couldn’t go through because the girl who bought the ticket was on the waiting list for the next ticket release. Keeping in mind we were calling and emailing the company and they blamed it on their system, so what happened was the girl who bought my ticket got charged full price for the waiting list ticket which she couldn’t use, and had paid for my ticket, which ofc I refunded her for, so basically she lost £500 on the trip, and even tho I won the ticket I lost £150 because I had to stay in England. Winning this trip cost me and this girl so much money, I’m sorry if this review doesn’t make sense but the idea I’m trying to get across is they will take your money and blame ‘regulations’ which don’t make sense and they don’t warn u about. I just wanted a refund for the deposit but nothing
