The Whisky Shop Avis 

I have had no problems with their on-line site, bottles ordered have been dispatched the same day (if ordered before 12:00) and have arrived the following day.
Prices compare favourably with others for the majority of whiskys they sell.

Looks like The Whisky Shop only allows customers who've purchased online to leave a review on Feefo, hence the lack of poor reviews on there.

I was given a gift card in Feb 2020 which I have been trying to use for months online, but it kept being flagged as a non-recognised gift card number. Numerous emails to customer services and no response. Eventually I got through to someone on live chat who explained that gift cards bought in store cannot be used online. That seems pretty ridiculous, but putting that to one side I was then promised a follow-up from another member of staff to extend my gift card use by date. 10 days later and nothing. I've just gone back on to live chat and had another member of staff reply rudely before exiting the chat before I could respond.

It's a simple task, and I get that things aren't going to be super slick in the circumstances, but you really are going out of your way to make things difficult for your customers. So:

1. Please update your Gift Card T&Cs to explain that cards bought in store can only be used in store.
2. Follow up with customers who politely contact you.

I just want some whisky.

I ordered 6 whisky bottles as a gift for Italy on December 17th. It is January 13th and nothing is delivered and I have made 3 requests for information from them and got no reply. You cannot talk to anyone and e-mails go unanswered. This is probably a scam and I imagine they are still taking orders. Absolutely criminal

They sent my gift to me in London instead of to the intended recipient in Devon.

Then told me I had to return it before they could send out to the correct address

outstanding customer service - a problem with addressing was solved quickly, efficiently and courteously. Very pleased with this seller and will use them as a first choice in future.

I placed an online order mid October and then heard nothing. They did not answer the phone or respond to multiple emails/messenger msgs. Finally someone got in touch yesterday. Shockingly bad. Do not buy from these people.

I joined The Whisky Shop’s W Club. I paid my £30 and got a membership card which I tried to activate. My number came back as invalid.

Not to worry, I will ring them but they’re not taking calls during Covid.

I will email them, once, twice......... eight times and not one response from any of their email addresses.

Absolutely disgusting administration. I wouldn’t join this so called club unless you want to get as frustrated as me and have to go to all the bother of claiming my money back from my credit card company.

I've been a regular customer of The Whisky Shop the past two years and really love their Whisky Wed deals for W Club Members, along with their tasting events (pre-Covid of course) and Paternoster Square shop near my office. Since lockdown I've found myself checking their offerings frequently, including the indie bottlings as they have a very good selection, thanks!

Online order in Scotland - Probably the best customer service I've ever had . After a problem with an order (caused by the delivery company) they responded super fast and got a replacement out in a couple of days which saved the celebration. Top job!! Thanks again :)

After confusion over an online order, The Whisky Shop (Neil in particular) was excellent in dealing with my situation. I don't normally leave reviews, but the service really has been outstanding. Buy with confidence.

I visited this shop in Piccadilly London and bought two bottles of Dalmore 25 yrs last Saturday. It was a very unpleasant shopping experience. There is a female staff, named Marian (I can't remember clearly). She is super unprofessional and rude. I asked her for the price of a Macallan 25 years and she told me it's £1650. I really like this one and want to send it to my Dad as a Christmas gift, so I did a lot of online searches before I visit the shop. There is a exactly the same whiskey on the Macallan official website priced around £1500. I told the staff about the official price and asked her if it's possible to do a price match. However, this lady said 'it's not possible that you can find a bottle priced £1500' WITHOUT EVEN HAVE A CHECK !!!! She even said 'IF YOU CAN BUY ONE FOR THIS PRICE, I WILL BUY ONE FROM YOU'. It was very late and cold that day, so I didn't argue with her about this and bought another two whiskey. But I really feel tremendously offended by this lady's attitude. My good mood was ruined by this lady. There is a shop called The Whiskey Exchange in Covent Garden, the staff there are very helpful and professional. They know how to use internet to do price check. The Whiskey Exchange don't have enough Dalmore 25 in stock. Otherwise, I won't buy anything from this Piccadilly whiskey shop. Will never visit this shop anymore.

After being let down by a different supplier to deliver a few bottles of Sake for my Japanese guests; The Whisky Shop came to the rescue.
An easy to use website, great stock, great shopping experience, I will definitely use them again in the near future.

Excellent customer service.
I sent a gift to the wrong postal address and they immediately assisted in stopping the original order (which has already had two delivery attempts!) and sending one out to the correct address. The errors were all mine and yet they were so accommodating. I will definitely use them again!

Bought a bottle of monkey 47 at the Birmingham store for £47.

It sells on average for £35 for a bottle

Massively overinflated prices. Avoid this shop if you don’t want to get ripped off

Went into the Nottingham store on Friday 23rd November and the staff were brill.
My compass point hedonism whisky slipped down the throat as smooth as an otter sliding off a riverbank .

Outstanding customer service. I ordered an engraved bottle for a leaving gift which arrived with a slight typo. Within days, they had rectified the issue. A lady called Lynn chased the engravers for me and kept me updated and ensured the problem was solved in time to present the bottle at the leaving do. Would definitely use again. 5 Stars

Bought a 20ml bottle of Lagavulin 16 year-old whisky at the Norwich branch. I wanted to support the local High Street shop. Not a very good experience. The man serving never met my eyes once, was taciturn and seemed glad when I left the shop. Perhaps this was because on their site I discovered later that the same item sold for £29 and not £31.50 I was charged. Also, I found the same item for £18.95 at another site.

Small mercy that they they were out of the 70cl bottle (£76) I went in for which would have cost me £53 elsewhere.
