Wickes - Cardiff Avis 

We had a horrendous experience with Wickes using their allocated fitter. Although the kitchen was fitted quickly, we were left without a cutlery drawer and unable to fully open our fridge for four months. This initially arose due to multiple design issues but was not rectified due to really awful customer service.

The fitter wickes assigned to us was also terrible - he was incredibly rude, blaming us for the issues with the kitchen and refusing to come back to resolve the issues. He also signed a completion form on our behalf without our consent, lying about whether we agreed to this being signed off. He would text late at night on a Friday asking for large payments that day with no notice and would become angry and hostile if we weren't able to comply with his last minute requests. He also did not provide us with any paperwork for the work done and we only received the gas and electrical safety certificate after 4 months.

It took constant emails and phone calls for 4 months to get the issues resolved. We had to fight very hard to get the kitchen finished and still have not had satisfactory apology or recognition of the terrible service we have received. We will never be using Wickes again and would strongly discourage anyone else from doing so.

Went to the store this evening close to closing and was met with very helpful staff who were polite and informative, especially Kimberley the Store Manager. Thank you so much Kimberley you deserve a raise !!!

I was lucky enough to have Eliza to design my kitchen. She was so professional from start to finish. Full of ideas, and very experienced with her measuring and design ideas. Communication was excellent to . Many thanks !

Ordered bags of coal online and when it was delivered I noticed after that it was one short rung the store and the manager sorted it straight away and a member of staff Mitchell drop a bag off at my house within 10 minutes of me putting the phone down spot on customer service thanks 👍

I popped into Wickes on Newport Road in Cardiff today after a long morning of hunting for tiles. We finally found exactly what we wanted in your store, only to discover there were only 6 out of the 13 packs we needed on the shelf.

I approached a polite lad named Jamie, who was kind enough to go and ask the forklift driver if they could retrieve the rest from storage. To my discomfort and embarrassment, the response from the forklift driver, Kim, was unbelievable. She had a right go at Jamie, in front of me, snapping that she was about to go on her break and would be gone for an hour actually, “longer than an hour,” in her own words. She didn’t even acknowledge me, just launched into this firm, unnecessary rant at him and then walked off.

The poor lad was left standing there clearly embarrassed, and frankly, so was I. I have absolutely no issue with anyone taking their break, but the complete disregard for customer service was astonishing. Quite honestly, she could do with some serious training in how to speak to both colleagues and customers.it was then I asked to speak with a manager to my shock that was her,

I was ready to walk out until another member of staff, Dan, noticed how frustrated I was. He was incredibly apologetic and reassured me that he would do his best to get the rest of the tiles down while we walked around. He completely changed my mind about staying.

If anything, Kim should be taking notes from both Jamie and Dan they understand customer satisfaction, and they are the only reason I’m going back to purchase those tiles.

I would like to thank Rhys Williams, the manager at Wickes on Newport Road, for his fantastic generosity and support. He kindly arranged a donation of compost for our school garden at St Cadoc’s Catholic Primary School.

I would like to compliment the staff of wicks Cardifff and in particular Douglas who went the extra mile trying to help me find a particular design cooker hood although I was unable to find the item I wanted I do appreciate the time and effort Douglas spent trying to help me in my search.

First time I’ve ever gone into wicks and/or brought products. I asked the help desk for advice and was massively assisted by Greg W in the Cardiff store on Newport Road. Very grateful for the assistance and certainly made me feel more inclined to return for possible future DIY products.

We visited this store whilst shopping around for a new kitchen. We popped into a few different stores and we were impressed with Wickes, as the sales consultants just left us to look around at ease, there was no hard selling. They just introduced themselves and said if you need anything please ask. There is nothing worse than being pounce on as soon as you enter a store.

We made an appointment to have a chat with one of the consultants Our appointment was with Design Consultant Wayne Tyler-Grant who was AMAZING. He was very informant and took his time whilst bringing our vision to life. He advised us on numerous things, that we had not really thought about. You could see that he was there to help us design my elderly mothers kitchen and not just sell us a kitchen. He was so thoughtful and you could clearly see that he was not driven by how much commission or bonus he got, he was only concerned that my mum had the kitchen that would work for her. He also recognised that my mother would not need a kitchen that had expensive unneccessary stuff, he knew the kitchen was just for my mum and not for a family that would require a more robust busy family kitchen. Wayne very kindly gave us full colour pictures of the kitchen which was fantastic as we will be able to give these to our builder to ensure that all measurements are correct. Wayne was super friendly. If you need to order a new kitchen and what to be dealt with in a very relaxed and friendly, approachable way then book an appointment to see Wayne he is super amazing. Ok, I like the store. Stuff are cheaper then B&Q but found the workers have no knowledge about things. I think they should have some basic knowledge on what they’re selling as they could help people to purchase the right items. They was only one person who could help me her name was Linda in off Newport road in Cardiff. The rest who ever I spoke to they be sorry I don’t know

Visited Wickes yesterday as we have bought a huge renovation project and needed lots of things to get us started. We were served by Rhys Williams, who was very patient and knowledgeable. Rhys couldn’t do enough for us and went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed and even packed the van up for us. We left feeling very happy. We will be back very soon! Thanks Rhys.

I came in twice for some paint last week - the colleagues were so helpful! They quickly directed me to the paint I needed. I was in and out in less than five minutes. Thanks so much 🙏

Went to Wickes on Newport road to day not to sure what i needed for the job I was doing but after speaking to Greg and Jamie who worked there they went above and beyond to take the time to understand the job I was doing and then assembled all the materials I needed and to be fair they were spot on so a big thank you to Jamie and Greg and I will know where to go next time.

Wickes provided us with lots of things that were very helpful to us completing our outdoor project as part of their community grant. Rhys Williams was extremely helpful and was able to quickly organise the items.

The Deputy Manager of the Wickes store off Newport Road, Cardiff spent time with me explaining the best product required and how to install it. Far superior service to what I encountered in B&Q Cardiff who had limited knowledge of the appropriate product.

Only put a 1 star as there was no option for a no star,
DO NOT BUY A KITCHEN FROM WICKES !!!!!!
All I will say is that if you hav an issue with the delivery, missing items and wrong colours sent you will have major issues as the customer service is shocking, you will be given number after number which all lead to the same option and get absolutely nowhere, still have an unfished kitchen that they can’t or won’t sort out 🤬🤬🤬

Competitive pricing and Wickes own branded products always seem to be as good as the well known trade brands. The Cardiff branch is my nearest where the staff are always really helpful, particularly Douglas who always serves with a smile on his face.

Greg helped me pick the right shade flooring trim after searching many stores myself. He also helped me work out how much I needed and explained the different options to secure it in place. I really appreciate his exceptional customer service and patience. Thank you

She was so helpful, carried a bag of concrete for me as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis!
