When we moved into a new state & school district after 5 years in California, we discovered our child was lacking in basic core skills. It was partly a result of the unstructured curriculum in our old district, among other things. After the first school year working with Troy our daughter showed dramatic improvement in all phases of language arts. Learning basic decoding and root origins translated into spelling, reading and comprehension gains across the board. His teaching style and personality was a perfect match for our daughter, keeping her engaged and motivated. We couldn't be happier with the results. She's now near the top of the class in all recorded metrics. A dramatic improvement to say the least.
Looking back on our own childhood education, we'd give anything to have received such important and critical language skills training at a young age.

I reached out to Troy to help my son whom I suspect has dyslexia and dysgraphia. Although he has an IEP, I felt like more specific support was needed to help him progress.

Troy not only understands ADHD but, as an experienced educator, was able to suggest IEP tweaks and additional resources for my son to use. We are still early in this journey but I believe we have the tools that he will need to keep learning and love it too.

After 4 years of no reading growth in school even with IEP pull-out supports we started a group tutoring class with Troy right before middle school. My son grew leaps and bounds in his reading abilities and confidence. Now as a junior in high school he is confident with the tools and time given to him to accommodate his dyslexia and anxiety.

Furthermore, Troy always met my son where he was at that day. With social anxiety working in groups can be hard for him - Troy made the experience much more enjoyable and found ways to relate to my kid. Which really helped with his confidence.
