From start to finish, I was kept up to date with the progress of my install. Nothing was left to chance and extra checks were made to ensure my supply was adequate with no potential future issues. DNO was handled by Zap. Installation was smooth, the engineer installed the charger so there was no visible cables externally. He also ran through how to use the app and left the area he was working in clean and tidy.

EV Chargers
There were a number of unanticipated difficulties in the delivery of our EV charging points, however, Zap Vehicle Charging went out of their way to resolve them.
To improve their service further, I recommend that they build up a national network of trusted installers that will not let them down and that fully understand the expectations of the installation project.
Overall, the installation was a success and I am very pleased with the chargers.

Stephen, when we have EV Installation jobs out of our area, we rely on 3rd party Sub-contractors completing a thorough survey and then reporting this back to us with a full details quote. On this occasion we used a local business to yourself called H B Electrical. We gave H B Electrical all the information needed and the data spec sheets of the intended 22kw Chargers to be installed, which was 3 x EVEC 22kw Pedestal chargers. They then conducted the site survey including Distribution board inspection and all ground works needed to complete the full installation as required. Before instructing H B Electrical we completed a background check and also a qualification inspection, ensuring that you were getting the best Engineers from your area. We then received all the information needed including a full survey and quote from them, from this information we then quoted yourselves. Once you accepted this quote, we bought the 22kw Chargers and had them delivered direct to yourselves and we booked H B Electrical to complete the installation. When James Beaumont from H B Electrical turned up on site at your school to complete the installation, he then decided that the charger that had to be sunk in the ground were not in the original quote supplied by them, and no ground work was included in his quote, even though we have had many emails and telephone communications (all recorded) to state that all groundwork was included within his quote, he had even been sent the Charger spec sheets, which clearly shows the chargers are to be sunk into the ground and NOT bolted to the ground. What’s more, he then continued to inform us that the Electrical Board would not allow 3 x 22kw chargers as the power supply was not there, this is after he has done the survey and was 100% informed that the intention was to install 3 x 22kw chargers. On this basis, we then decided to terminate instructions with H B Electrical and send our own engineers down to complete a full and professional installation. However, we had already paid for the 3 x 22kw chargers and we had already paid over £1500.00 for the 3 phase cable that was no longer able to be used f or this job, this was non refundable and is sat in my office. We also now had to purchase 3 x 7kw twin chargers to complete our installation promise to you. Furthermore my engineers charged me over £2000.00 more than H B Elctrical original quote for fulfilling the works and obviously there was hotel accommodation now needed on top of this charge. So as you can imagine, Zap Vehicle Charging are very much out of pocket at this time, and I appreciate this is not your fault, however we also feel this is not our fault as we followed all the necessary due-diligence required. We are really sorry that this situation has happened, however I feel that your comments are unjustified and also feel that Zap Vehicle Charging has done everything in it power to amend the situation and carried out a great job installing your EV chargers
An absolute awful company
An absolute awful company. I bought a car charger for them which is covered under a warranty. I’m now entering the fourth month and still waiting for a date of when it’s going to be repaired or replaced. They don’t respond. They don’t return your calls. Please avoid using this company.

Zap's excellent problem solving
I had a great deal on an EV but had to take delivery quickly. Callum from Zap Vehicle Charging was excellent, taking me as a new EV user through the approval process to the actual fitting of the unit. This could have been done in days except for the need for permissions from outside of Zap's control. We hit a few problems along the way but Callum was always on hand to help and advise. The unit is now fitted and working. Great job.

I do not recommend this company at all, please avoid! Poor communication throughout booking process. I wasn't told what time the engineer would arrive. Encountered problems during the installation which caused a huge amount of inconvenience. As a result I asked for a discount and rather than listen to my issues they threatened to come to my house and rip the charger off the wall. Highly unprofessional, avoid!
Thanks for the unhelpful reply which did not address my concerns of poor communication or being threatened. The job eventually got done, the service from zap was poor.

Hi Mrs Anwar, we are sorry to hear you were not happy with the service you received, although on the phone you clearly stated ‘we did a great job’! Unfortunately as you live outside our area we had to rely on a 3rd party Sub-Contractor and all we can do is check references and accreditation and assume from our due diligence that he would do a great job and represent our company in a professional manner. We shall investigate appropriately, however after you confirmed you were happy with the installation I find it strange you would take time to come back and give a negative review !!
Excellent customer service
Excellent customer service. Always responded promptly to queries even a long time post-installation. The electrician provided to fit the charger was first class. Product works well and all in all, Zap Vehicle Charging have been brilliant to deal with.

We needed a site survey as the consumer…
We needed a site survey as the consumer unit is under the stairs in the middle of the house and wanted to discuss with the electrician what would be the best route for the cable would be the communication and arrangement for this was very good and the guy that came was very knowledgeable and helpful it was decided that a 6mm twin and earth would be routed just above the skirting board in the lounge and through the wall to the consumer unit and out the wall the other side to a junction box then armoured cable run along the bottom of the outside wall to the charger point the inside wall had to be chased out and we re plastered it when the installation was completed- on the day of installation a different electrician came and he was also very knowledgeable and helpful and was quick and professional when the charger was installed he explained all the functions completely to us very pleased and satisfied with the whole process
