If you are looking for the worst hosting company in SA then 1grid is for you. You can not get hold of them and if you do not a single person can assist you. By looking at their recent reviews you can see the company's name is going to a trashy status. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from them.

I had an issue with my email authentication which was a concern as I run my own business and rely on my emails. It was refreshing to log into my ticket and see the progress being made by the team.
I interacted with friendly and professional staff who sorted the issue out.
I have been a 1-Grid customer for six years and I am going nowhere.
I am a happy customer (again)!

Try and get through to their Support department, they REFUSE to answer, but the sales team is ALWAYS ready to steal more money. Been trying 3 days to talk to support, once they have stolen your money you will never speak to them again regarding support etc. They only time they will call you is when accounting dept calls

Regardless of a high number of good reviews, I unfortunately have a bad experience with them which led me to cancelling the services I had subscribed to, even now I’ve been waiting for over 24 hours for them to transfer my domain to another hosting company. They’re quiet and not responding to emails. My website and emails are down due to this- I’m wondering till when.
When you call them, you’re likely to hear a recorded voice telling you that there are no available agents and then the call gets dropped on you. It’s a mess! What a waste of time and money!!

We have been clients of gridhost that became 1-grid for more than 10 years and this year we have had the most atrocious service from them.
They are totally unreachable.
Our business email was not working consistently for almost a month but the final straw has been that they have not been delivering invoices so after been UpToDate with payments for over 10 years, when I logged onto there client service area I saw that I had fallen behind so I paid the 3 months of outstanding bills that I had not received and fallen behind.
They then issued a reinstatement invoice for one of our domains, I told them I did not wish to reinstate the domain as it is inactive and was not aware that this would be changed.
Be careful of 1- grid they are not a reliable host and will charge you for services that you do not request.
Clearly once you have been a long term client it is not important to them have any client service as they feel that they have you locked in!

Service is pathetic, never get a problem resolved. Wait on hold for hours.
Log a ticket and nothing happens.
Only thing that works is payments.

The Vps server has been giving issues since Sunday, after a dozen support tickets these issues are still persisting.... NO POSITIVE FEEDBACK FROM 1 Grid! The few emails I have received from them is just them telling me I need to buy an additional Server because the server cannot handle one of the websites hosted on it since November 2022!!! But it was fine on Saturday, it only started giving issues after they changed something on the server.

Avoid like the plague.
Consistent billing issues which ends up costing you time and money.
I'm currently moving over 20 domains away from them and gladly paying more.
Customer service is pathetic.

I’ve watched 1Grid steadily decline over the years, and it's been incredibly frustrating as a long-time customer. I’m still waiting on a support request from the 11th — after sitting on hold for 30 minutes with no resolution, the email responses fizzled out, and I’ve heard nothing since.
This year alone, I’ve had to log 14 separate support tickets for my websites going down. Yes, fourteen.
Their servers are frequently blacklisted, and firewalls block people from accessing my sites — across multiple networks. It’s not just poor service; it’s become a liability.
I used to recommend 1Grid to others. I regret that now. The experience has gone from reliable to ridiculous.
Not acceptable. Not professional. Not worth it.

⭐ 1 Star – Unreliable, Deceptive, and Not Fit for Serious Hosting
I cancelled all services with 1-Grid.com after repeated failures that made it impossible to run my online business.
Here’s exactly what went wrong:

🔧 Unannounced Server Migration
They silently migrated my hosting from cPanel to Webuzo with no warning. This broke my live site completely, and support acted as if it was expected behaviour.
⚠️ PHP Downgrade Without Consent
My site was downgraded from PHP 8.2 to PHP 7.2.34 — a version that’s been unsupported since 2020 — without my knowledge or consent. The downgrade caused fatal errors on my PrestaShop store, and they tried to blame me for it.
❌ Critical PHP Extensions Missing
On PHP 8.1 and 8.2, essential extensions like pdo_mysql, intl, mbstring, curl, zip, and gd were missing. These are required for most CMS platforms and eCommerce tools. Support could not (or would not) enable them.
📉 Storage Misrepresentation
They advertise 25 GB SSD storage. My account was hard-capped at 10 GB. Support gave no explanation. That’s misleading at best.
🚫 Broken CLI PHP
The command line environment still ran PHP 7.2 — even when PHP 8.1 was selected in cPanel — breaking cronjobs and command-line scripts.
📞 Support Is Powerless
The support agents tried, but clearly have no authority or tools to fix deep technical problems. Escalations were ignored. No real resolution was ever provided.

⚠️ Bottom Line:
If you run a serious business, stay far away from 1-Grid.
Their infrastructure is outdated, their platform unstable, and their management unresponsive.
The support staff are not to blame — they’re clearly working under terrible conditions with no proper resources. But that doesn’t make this hosting service acceptable.

Every time I try to get help from support- it is a nightmare. Emails ignored. 3 hour wait and then call dropped on Whats App.
When you call on the phone it is amateur hour- clearly no management. Canned music over soft instructions that nobody can hear.

Ongoing website problems due to 'server maintenance', NO response to tickets and NO support. No assistance by phone either. Worst hosting company to deal with, now also unable to migrate our site from them due to lack of support.

1grid are a bunch of liars and frauds who made me pay for 2 fake invoices after selling my domain without my knowledge and now refusing to pay me back my money. They keep on replying to my Trustpilot reviews saying they will look into it but that’s also just lies, they just say that to make it look like to other people they’re managing complaints. But actually your complaint goes into a black hole never to be seen again. They will steal your money and then ignore all of your emails
