This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with an insurance company.
Making a claim was unnecessarily difficult from start to finish. It was nearly impossible to get hold of anyone in New Zealand, as everything is handled out of NSW. When you’re already dealing with a stressful situation, the last thing you need is to be chasing people for basic support.
There was zero empathy or customer care shown. Not once did anyone ask how I was doing — instead, it was just endless requests for more information, with no real guidance or help. It felt like they were trying to make the process as hard as possible rather than actually assist.
Communication was also poor and unprofessional. Emails weren’t even properly signed with full names, which gives very little confidence in who you’re dealing with.
Overall, this company is disorganised, unhelpful, and lacks basic customer service standards. I would strongly advise people to stay away.
Do not use this company.
If you want reliable cover and proper support, go with a trusted New Zealand provider like Southern Cross Travel Insurance — you’ll save yourself a lot of stress.

Have dealt with 1Cover over past few weeks. They have been very patient while we get it all right. The chat facility has been excellent. Tino looked after me today. Really efficient & got everything sort. Understood all our needs.

Always thought they had you'd cover - until you needed to claim!

Maisie explained everything so well to me. She was very professional and helpful.

TC listened to what I had to say and spotted the problem immediately. I'm pleased to say he dealt with it that day. I received a refund back into my credit card that night.

The Company's Link was not much good for it quoted the total premium rather than just the additional $82.13

It was so quick to get my Policy extended.
Keanu was helpful and efficient. It was a very easy process and appreciate being able to do this online rather having to find the time to make a call.
