Abbotts Countrywide Avis 

Like others, if I could give zero stars I would. I made an appointment to view a flat to rent with Damian at 5pm from the Ipswich branch. He simply never turned up and when I phoned him he claimed that he had found out earlier that day that it had been let through another agent. He didn't try and contact me - no phone call, no text, no email and in this day and age that is unforgiveable. The excuse was that he was busy-guess what, we are all busy!!!!! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, AVOID THIS AGENCY

I’ve now rented a cottage from Abbott’s countrywide and couldn’t recommend them enough. I dealt with the office in Downham Market with a Lady called Lisa , very friendly and professional lady. Made my dream come true. Very happy with the work she done for me and also the rest of her team.

If I could give no stars I would - Abbott’s countrywide Beccles do not deserve a single star. They lie, mislead and do not do what they say they will do when they say they will do it. Having never sold a house before we went with a personal recommendation for Abbott’s estate agents...never again! I will never recommend them to anyone, and would advise everyone to stay well away from them and find a competent, contactable and more honest estate agent...

No show from Abbott's at a house viewing!

The brutality and disrespect is really not easy to describe. Abbott's lack of communication is already the first alarm bell to go off, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. After that it went from bad to worse. Because my girlfriend and I do not yet live in England (Cambridge), we asked friends to go to a house viewing. We made the appointment with Peter of Abbott's Letting in Cambridge. He never arrived there and Abbott's Letting or Peter were unreachable. That is downright rude and disrespectful.

We no longer do business with Abbott's Letting. And neither should you.

Unprofessional, incompetent liars.
Using the Ipswich branch with their so called manager "Damian" has proved to be a huge mistake.
Falsifying documents, time wasting and giving me the run around to "run down the clock" on my tenancy are just a few of the Del Boy tactics this company employ.
Anything wrong with your home that needs repairing? call them. They will be sure to ignore you for months on end and then send around Del's cousin who knows how to fix anything, despite never picking up so much as a screwdriver in his life.
Want your property looked after? then look further..a lot further because Abbott don't care about it. Water leaking for MONTHS in your roof? think nothing of it...Damian doesn't! it's fine to have damp everywhere, as they can blame the tenant when he leaves!!!! great tactic Damian/ blame everyone else...so you don't have to pay for maintenance and get questioned by the Landlord.
DO NOT RENT YOUR PROPERTY THROUGH ABBOTTS IPSWICH WITH DAMIAN.

Do not go with this estate agent. Got email wrong and contract didn't arrive, photographer turned up with no PPE on and walked into my house, photos mediocre but attention to detail dreadful, took a week for photos to arrive, didn't offer a sale board, house of market for a week no intetest but didnt call any one. Was after a property also with them. No communication dreadful service. Property I put the offer in for I think has now been taken off market and not even a courtesy call to tell me.

In the 3/4 days of calling, they only managed to answer their phone once (called on 3 different numbers) and didn’t respond to any emails. Kind of glad the flat I wanted to rent is let agreed now cause they won’t waste any more of my time.

unhelpful and greedy spring to mind, sent their repairman round who must have watched too much 80's porno with plumbers and lonely housewife , as he tried it on with my wife!

They claim to be working, but never respond to calls or emails. AWFUL service, continuinng to ruin peoples plans without conscience

Do not fall for their sales pitch. They were the only estate agents that wanted to charge a £149 upfront fee even though i provided them with professional photos. They told me they had a specific buyer lined up for my property. Months later and not 1 viewing. They now ignore my emails and even though my contract is for multi agent, have told me I will have to pay a their fee if another agent sells in the next 2 years. AVOID USING THIS COMAPNY

Terrible Recruitment process! Terrible HR management! Terrible Payroll service! I am being over generous giving one star just because I am not allowed to give zero! They don't deserve your time, money, dedication or whatever! SKIP!

We were really appreciated of the team at Abbotts Victorial Road Taverham, Vicki,Charlie and David could not be more helpful, they are an amazing team would thoroughly recommend them.

Landlord Services
We have been employing Countrywide to manage our property let in Cambridge. The experience is far from being good. 1.) lack of follow up on periodic inspections (we always need to remind them) 2.) we almost always need to send several emails or make several calls to get a reaction 3.) dishonest: they will send an email to the tenants to say they have tried to contact us the Landlord several times at the same time as they have sent us the first email!!! (this seems to be a regular practice).

Overall, a bad service.

1star is over generous!
Did not make viewings on time, cheeky and slovenly dressed female representative that had no manners and no apology for lateness - now could they possibly conduct a show around in a home they have never been in ....Planned for 30 mins before appointment time to show all the little extras.... we ended up dong the full viewing yet still charge for full sale.
Absolutely disgusted with the service or lack of.
The rep that signed us up was the only guy with manners and rapport, the rest of the team are just awful. Slow and unprofessional service, at most a rip off!
Don’t screen viewings despite our asking for only genuine interest.
I emailed the management but failed to get an acknowledgment let alone a response .....lol.
Sale went through -Eventually but no thanks to Abbott’s
Don’t trust the Stowmarket branch Awful at best ‘dire at least’

There are some better and reputable agents to sell your property.

We decided to instruct Abbotts Countrywide Norwich to sell our flat and we have been very impressed indeed. Our initial contact with Dan in their Lettings Team was dealt with very professionally as he was very engaging and extremely helpful. We subsequently decided to sell our flat and Dan passed our information over to their Sales Team c/o Kerry Blue. Kerry was extremely helpful and gave us an immediate professional view/ valuation of our flat which gave us the confidence to instruct her to start to market our property immediately. We have since dealt with Sandro who has demonstrated his keeness and tenacity to get our flat sold. Sandro found a buyer for us within two days which is absolutely amazing! We would like to thank Sandro for his hard work and for keeping us informed of progress. We can highly recommend the Abbotts Norwich office to all that wish to secure a buyer/ tenant and be looked after by a professional and enthusiastic team!

1 star rating is too good I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS AGENT. Everytime I see an Abbott's advert I run in the next direction. My family is new to the UK and my wife was frank with Agent and explained our lack of experience in our initial meeting with the Agent from Basildon Office. We told him we will be relying heavily on his advice to secure a rented property. We had in mind we told him which one we wanted and he made us go through all the motions only to find out 5 DAYS before arriving in Basildon that we didn't qualify for the property. We lost our deposit to hold the property. Thank goodness her employers were sympathetic with our case and made alternative arrangements.

i was renting from Abbott branch in Basildon and i will never go with them again.They love to take your money. after a year of being there the landlord but the rent up, however abbots wanted me to pay for new contracts, which i never heard off. Then after 2 years we gave them our notice and when giving referencing to the new place they said we not not pay our rent on time EVEN THOUGH I PAY IT EARLY EVERY MONTH. once that was sorted and they admitted they was wrong and we finally left, they went round and did an expect ion. They deducted over £200 of our deposit because the flat 'wasn't clean' when i spent 4 HOURS cleaning it and i know it was spotless. Also i kept getting emails from then saying i didn't ask for permission to decorate, which i got my previous emails up and sent to them as i did. I WOULD NEVER GO WITH THERM AGAIN, THEY ARE MONEY GRABBERS, and they do not listen when you make appointments.

There is a long list of problems I had with Abbotts.
Top of the list, when I asked them to remove my house from the market, they upped it to a 'Premium listing' on rightmove.
THEY LOST MY KEYS and kept trying to give me someone else's which I repeated told them weren't mine.
They tried to tell me I gave them these keys? I have never seen before in my life.
No offer to replace the keys, let alone the locks.
Huge security breach, especially for a single woman.
I would NEVER use them again!

It is a pity that they do not employ people who can read English when delivering leaflets in Ipswich. I clearly have a notice on my door regarding leaflets & junk mail, but they still insist on littering my letter box with junk advertising.
