Cannot be trusted to turn up
5 days in advance I put through a booking request. I needed a clean on a certain day due to expected visitors. I received this wording: the first message “Hi! I'm Phoebe R, your Area Coordinator at Absolute Domestics. Your home clean is booked, and we're now assigning one of our trusted cleaners. You don t need to do a thing - we'll be in touch shortly with your confirmation.” When there was no confirmation I sent a text and received this “ Hi! this one is all booked!” I called the area manager the day before the booking. No answer. Called the hotline to be told there were no cleaners available. The night before. While I was still at work. Never again. North Brisbane.

We can confirm that your booking request was received, and we sincerely apologise for any confusion caused by the wording of the messages you received. While your clean was successfully booked into our system, a cleaner had not yet been assigned and unfortunately, we were unable to secure one in time for your requested date.
We understand how frustrating this must have been, especially given the importance of the timing due to your upcoming visitors. The message you received may have given the impression that everything was fully confirmed, and for that, we are very sorry. We are currently reviewing our communication process to ensure our messaging is clearer.
We apologise that you were informed that a cleaner was not assigned until late in the process. This is not the standard of service that we aim to deliver.
Please know that we value your feedback and are using this situation to improve our systems and service moving forward.

Do not hire absolute domestics.
Do not hire absolute domestics for cleaners. We organised with them to get a cleaner out to just vaccume and mop our house. The fist cleaner cleaned the house badly even though I stopped her several times and asked her to just vaccume and mop. The second and third cleaners that they organised never showed up. When I rang them to complain, they pretty much told me I was lying and unless I had text messages to prove it there was nothing I could do.

We’re genuinely sorry to hear about your experience, and we truly regret any frustration this has caused you. We completely understand how important it is to have reliable service, and we want to address the situation with full transparency.
It seems there was a misunderstanding regarding the rescheduled cleaning date. The cleaner had contacted the Agency to confirm the new start date for your service, which was rescheduled to Tuesday, the 12th of August, due to illness in the household. However, we note the rescheduling information was communicated verbally between you and the cleaner, which may have led to confusion on both ends.
When we reached out to clarify, we simply wanted to confirm if the rescheduled date had been discussed via SMS, as the cleaner had sent the Agency an SMS to advise of the rescheduled cleaning date. There was no intention to suggest you were lying. We fully acknowledge that misunderstandings happen, and it appears that this may have been one of those instances. Our goal was to work with you to find a solution and ensure you were fully satisfied.
As we were approaching the end of the business day, we had planned to contact you with an update first thing in the morning. We remain committed to making this right and investigating the breakdown in communication. We hope that, despite this issue, we may have the opportunity to work with you in the future.

I was rushed to hospital and my husband was in the house on his own your cleaner just did his job awesomely. But then the next day he sent me a get well text and I have to say it meant a great deal to my husband and I. It’s great to have someone who cares about his job and also the person he is working for.

They were the most responsive of the companies I approached. They asked clearly about my needs and matched me to a beautiful couple who are easy to communicate with about my needs each fortnight and have done an awesome job. They like the fact that they are covered by absolute domestic's insurance and the payment option is also easy.

Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless. They will waste your time by doing a bad job and take your money. Try raising an issue with them and they won’t do anything. Will never recommend or use again.
They are untrained, unprofessional and can’t get a simple job done right. I had contacted the area manager back and forth multiple times but reached no resolution with her.

As outlined in our final correspondence from October 2024, we did thoroughly review your concerns regarding the Move-In Clean provided by Samuel, one of our 5-star rated contractors with four years of experience. At the time, we understood that there were concerns raised during the clean, and in response, Samuel extended the service by an additional 2 hours at no extra charge—bringing the total service time to 6 hours while you were only billed for 4. This represented a 30% discount valued at $120 and was offered on the same day to directly address the concerns raised.
You also declined our offer to have the same cleaner return for further rectification, which is part of our standard resolution process. Despite this, the cleaner proactively stayed on-site to provide additional service without charge.
Given the extensive tasks completed—including deep cleaning post-renovation, detailed bathroom and kitchen work, wall washing, and more—we believed this was a fair and reasonable resolution. As cleaners are independent contractors, the decision regarding refunds lies with them, and Samuel declined a full refund based on the extended service already provided.
While we regret that the experience did not meet your expectations, we do stand by the resolution offered and consider the matter closed. We’re always striving to improve, and we thank you again for your feedback.

I was immediately impressed by how quick I could organise a cleaner!
I was immediately impressed that the day I organised the cleaner, he was able to come out that day.
After surgery I was unable to maintain the house and after two hours, Steven had made my house look far more respectable.
Steven was professional and even offered to do areas that I had not even thought about which left my house look amazing. He even offered to go back over his footprints on the floor he had just cleaned.
What I thought would be a short term idea will become a permanent one to help maintain my rental property above and beyond the standard required.
Thank you absolute domestics and Steven for making me feel better and my home look amazing!

Don't bother to answer their phone. Makes it difficult to resolve any problems - but maybe that's why they arrange it that way.
Plenty of really good cleaning companies with a Google search and they respond immediately. Definitely go elsewhere!
