I wouldn’t use this app. I wanted to roll over a later acct to my current financial advisor and it has been a lot of work to do it. We have sent paperwork twice and finally had to send it and get a signature that they did indeed receive it. I then called and they are saying they don’t have it. Very frustrating.

Bhimpi P kept repeating the same thing over to me. It didn't really seem as though she was trying to resolve my issue of the investment group being responsible for the first month of my membership. It was not supposed to be a deduction from my account until 4/6/2026 but there was an immediate deduction the next morning (4/2/2026). She continued to tell me about the deduction of the loose change gathering up to $5 but they deducted $5.25. It still should not have happened until 4/6/26 according to the agreement and the other $10 deduction should have been compliments of Acorns.
There is so much dishonesty and tricks that it is hard to make any moves and feel comfortable. I was very excited about the decision that I had made until today! There was a total of $15.25 deducted from my account less than 10 hours later.

Acorns allowed someone to create an account using a variant of my email address—without any verification. When I reported this, their "support" offered only one solution: call a US number (I don’t live in the US).
After multiple emails, they still refuse to act unless I provide personal data—for an account I never created. Their response? A copy-paste apology and a link to their "security" page (which clearly failed).
A company that:
❌ Doesn’t verify emails during signup.
❌ Forces victims to jump through hoops.
❌ Ignores written complaints unless you call internationally.
Does not deserve your trust or business. Avoid at all costs.

Customer service is not good. Spent an hour on the phone yesterday trying to get my card unlocked. Went to three different people and ultimately was told they would send me an email. I did get the email. Too little too late. Customer service is lacking.

Beneficiary Form is not on their website. It took me 2 different AI's who couldn't provide it and then a phone call to get a real person who was able to send it to me. This is a basic form that should be available on their website.

Always ask for a supervisor. The people taking and escalating your trouble-tickets cannot directly speak with the people whom they escalate the tickets to. This means you’ll wait weeks to hear from someone, only to have them ask for something that has already been provided or isn’t working. I spent months trying to correct a simple problem that a supervisor was able to walk through in a day. Don’t get your ticket escalated. Get a supervisor and have them directly contact the department that you’re having an issue with.

The app is great, and their service is reasonable. I don't have a negative view of them as a business in general, but my experience was poor. They refused to honor their referral promotion for reasons that are technically correct, but that no reasonable person could argue the user should know and their UI is actively misleading about the issue in ways that where probably accidental, but not okay in my opinion. Older referrals you've received no reward for list as though they'll count towards current referal offers with 0 indicator they won't. This leaves you to discover too late after the referral ends that the whole offer won't be honored due to some of the referrals not counting, making you ineligible for any rewards for your efforts beyond the non-time-limited 5 dollar reward, because some of your referrals don't get counted. This would be one thing if they made it clear, but instead their interface could scarcely be more designed than it is if they tried to make a reasonable person think older referrals will count. Given that combined with the fact that the outcome is identical for them as a business to if you completed the promotion the "correct" way, think it's plainly bad faith for them refuse to honor it until they take responsibility for make their UI less actively misleading.
Customer support in live chat was friendly and sympathetic, but not in a position to do anything. Whoever they escalated it to however obviously didn't even read my case, they sent me a canned email that made it clear they hadn't even bothered to read the basics of my plea.
If you don't end up in my position, I don't have any reason to warn you off of them, but I do think they deserve this review.

I originally joined for my son. Then I saw that it was an easy platform to use. When I was offered a handsome referral bonus for bringing on 5 friends I set out to do it- and did. But the platform prevented 2 friends from being able to move forward. Not my fault- Acorn’s website’s fault. Yet I was denied the bonus. That’s a misrepresentation and I don’t trust you with my money. Me and my friends are leaving.

Hello. Today I am sharing my review of this company, as I was deceived. They run promotions stating that if you refer 5 people, they will credit $1,400 to your account; however, it was all a massive lie. I referred my 5 people, but—solely because they requested verification multiple times for just one of those referrals (verification which we did send them)—they cancelled my reward. The most unbelievable part of all is that they never charged my referral's account for their $5 monthly fee; instead, they waited until the promotional period had expired before they started charging him. Both my friend and I contacted Customer Service, but it was in vain; they refused to provide the promised reward. Furthermore, they offer rewards for referring fewer people—such as 4 or 3—yet they don't give you anything for those either, even though I referred 5. In short, they simply do not want to give you any rewards at all. This is a deceptive and dishonest company. I apologize—I do not usually like leaving negative comments about anything—but they took advantage...
